So I spoke to Mr. Kanta and he told me compare to the Topping D90, the midrange and bass is better. By the way, "like" the video to help me promote the video. apos.audio/collections/brand-spotlight-matrix/products/matrix-element-i-headphone-amp (Non-affiliated link)

@@ChiefExecutiveOrbiter just as a only dac in dac only mode you’re telling me this sounds a lot better has better mid range and better bass then topping d90 it’s hard to believe because one of the best sounding dacs for the 1000$ range I’d say is the d90 what about the rest of the details like detail retrieval refinement extended top and more syllables more detail more air maybe perhaps a little bit more sharper is this one still there then the d90 as again only a dac i’m not using the rest of that using the streamer just the dac section! Thanks man good video 🙏

Since I’m pretty happy with my current Delta Sigma DAC my next one will most likely be a R2R DAC. Seems like the only real differentiator nowadays once you’ve reached a certain level is the analog output stages. The cost multiplier for getting a significantly better sounding DAC is such that I’d rather spend the money on improving other components.

Is it something significant? It just seems like another redundant piece in the chain. Or am I missing something? I'm just beginning my audiophile journey. Bonjour Thomas, just discovered your channel while looking for an upgrade path for my system. I have built my system years ago and for many reasons, have not been using it much in the last 2-3 years. However lately I have started listening to music again (and watching movies). As you now guessed, my room doubles as a listening room and Home Theater. That being said, I started looking at an upgrade path from my Oppo BDP-103 player used today as a media renderer. My catalog is stored on a PC running Jriver. Now the big Q; In your opinion, is the Matrix Element an upgrade from the Oppo BDP-103 for Stereo music? Note that the upgrade path is obviously limited by a budget, in the range of 1000 to 1500 $cdn . Regards, Marc-Antoine

Currently, Amazon Music, Tidal, etc., allow the option of listening to music off line but only if you have a Android/Apple phone/tablet. Sounds like a serious contender for a high-value streamer/DAC, but it's also marketed as a headphone amp. How's the headphone amp, because if the headphone amp is good, AND it's a great DAC, AND a great streamer, it could be pretty complete solution for headphones. AND it has outputs, so it can also be used as a preamp to front an amp/speakers or powered speakers.

EVery opinion is subjective for every reviewer but i think, how do we know that the reviewer has a qualify ears to give us her opinion if he can hear only up to 12khz or 13khz or less, it means if my assumption is true "he can perceive any gear like speakers as laid back or without highs because he is not be able to listen that frequencies , another reviewer with better ears or he can listen up to 18khz or 19khz is going to have a more accurate review. I think every proffesional reviewer has to show his audiometry in order to show that he has accurate hearing to make a review. Ear's reviewers are the tools for them to evaluate a gear and an audiometry is the way to test him. Give me your opinions. Especially for reviewers that don't show measurements.
