Personally, I agree with klopp, if people want to protest without violence and don't infringe on other people having their say, then it's fine to do so. Problem with that, what of the other fans who can't hear themselves think let alone the anthem? That takes away their rights away which isn't acceptable. But here's the conundrum, how else can Liverpool fans protest? It's pretty much the only way. So all you can really do is agree with klopp, it's done, dusted, let's move on

A political opinion, respect/appreciation for the monarchy, was imposed onto a huge number of people who are not monarchists. Of course they should boo. Celtic or Hibs fc would be your natural home not Liverpool. Trying to oust Liverpool fans of other faiths and political views is what was and is behind the disrespect shown to our monarchy, Nothing else,
One day in the future people will look back and acknowledge Liverpool fans for being completely correct and justified, the same goes for the anti-monarchists arrested for voicing their opinions. The coronation isn’t a just a party, it is fundamentally political, and plays an ideological role in society. I was there and started off booing and finished chanting the name of my club and city. And it made me feel incredibly proud. Loyalty to the people, not the state. Our national anthem doesn’t even mention the name of our country or anything to do with it. Also Keown’s a f*cking idiot. “Why don’t you protest in silence”. No wonder the country’s a mess
The point you're missing Simon is that this isn't "Liverpool football club" taking a view point, it is the individuals who happen to support LFC expressing their individual view on a subject. This "protest" had nothing to do with Liverpool football club and everything to do with an individuals right to expression. Regarding Simon's professed opinion that the protesting fans should have kept their opinions to themselves, and "not gone to the party". Firstly, the fans didn't go to a; 'Celebration of The Coronation of King Charles the Third party' intent on ruining the event; rather they attended a specific, regularly occurring event unrelated to The Coronation which, for many of them, is nothing short of a quasi-religious communion, in the same way they always have done. Discovering that, upon this occasion, their beloved Anfield was to be exploited by The Establishment (and it can certainly be argued that there are precious few groups of people more inherently 'Establishment' than The Royal Family) - a group of organisations, and individuals held responsible by some on Merseyside (and not without justification) for high-level corruption; social and economic decline of such severity as to cause widespread poverty, as well as for the political abandonment of the area, and of generations of its people - the fans were, quite understandably in my opinion, minded to protest. And, given the depth of anti-establishment sentiment within the community, I would argue that the actions taken by the Liverpool fans (i.e, a minute or two of booing The National Anthem) we're in fact rather measured when compared with another recent fan-led protest, i.e the invasion of Old Trafford by Manchester United fans on May the 2nd 2021, which resulted in the abandonment of the Premier League match scheduled to be played that day; ironically, between Manchester United and Liverpool... Secondly, regarding Simon's (and a considerable amount of other's) point that this was neither the time, nor place for protest; surely this is diametrically opposed to fact. The Anfield Faithful were simply using the occasion to reiterate their widely known opposition to, and distrust of elements of the aforementioned 'Establishment, at a time and place guaranteed to gain a huge audience, due to Sky Sports' as well as national news outlets' coverage. I feel this was acceptable as the protest was only made in response to the playing of The National Anthem. In other words, the fans didn't boo the anthem as a means to gain publicity for an unrelated grievance. I began this rather overly long rant by suggesting that perhaps Simon was being a little disingenuous in expressing his opinion that the Liverpool fans who booed The National Anthem were in the wrong. I suspect that Simon is well aware of all the points I've covered and would, in private, admit the Liverpool fans have a genuine grievance, even if, politically speaking they're of different stripes. Also, given his history (and, for all I know, current involvement) in the business world, I would suggest he's fully cognisant of the importance of being able to spot an opportunity to slip in an effective advert for a product, a service, or (as on this occasion) a cause. What I'm getting at is that I suspect, on the sly, Simon's genuine opinion, as opposed to the Talk Sport 'party line' he so effortlessly tows, is that The Liverpool fans acted creditably; merely (quite literally) voicing an opinion and causing no disruption, as well as intelligently; Publicising perceived injustices. On the other hand, I might just have wasted half an hour of my life writing a lot of drivel...
its a footie match why do we have to the national anthem on people go there to see footie period nowt else
Not everyone is a royalist, booing demonstrates their displeasure at this fantastically opulent show of wealth during a time when people can barely afford to turn the lights on
