Spoilers below: Yeah, that’s pretty much what happened. He’s really good at seeing all the angles and strategizing. He knows how to work the system to his advantage. He even managed to lawyer Glomgold out of his and the other villains’ fortune in one episode.

That's a trait Gladstone and Donald have in common. Since they certainly didn't get it from their grandmother Elvira, it might have come from their grandfather. Though Gladstone's mother Daphne never struck me as lazy. She's more of a ditz who survives on her luck alone. Gladsone is legitimately lazy.

Gr4vitY and because of that, his life is utterly lacking in meaning or accomplishments. He makes the Cat from Red Dwarf seem complex and nuanced.

Regarding your Webby video, I asked Frank Angones if she'll have enough traits to distinguish her from Mable. He said and I quote: "Yes. Absolutely. She’s more awkward than Mabel, and also a bit more competent. Mabel was fearless and self assured. Webby is still finding her footing." So you don't need to worried about her.

Yeah -- I made that video pretty early, when we only had a few seconds of footage of Webby... and I may have jumped the gun a little. She's clearly distinct in a lot of good ways. I think they have some core similarities, but they're expressed differently. I think Webby is just a more complex character overall. I kind of want to re-do hers, but I don't have time before the premiere. I may do a revisited video for all the kids with updates about what we've learned, and address it there.

Draelos, to answer your question, consider it this way: Webby is Leonardo. Dewey is Raphael. (And, while we're on the subject, Huey is Donatello and Louie is Michelangelo. The kids have become a classic four-temperament ensemble, through and through.)

Louie Duck sometimes definitely acts like a evil character, but he isn't a villain. It's very rare thing in fictional characters.

The way I say it is Louie is Sharper than the Sharpies Dewey is Tougher than the Toughies and Hewey is Smarter than the Smarties And they'll earn their money square(except maybe Louie)

I feel like sometimes Louie is a bit misunderstood. I like that you didn't give him the "evil" title. You gave everyone something more than just a low title. This is very well explained. (BTW my favorite is Louie)

Let's not forget that when he 1st "met" Lena, he was so scared that he hugged Huey while his elder brother patted him. Poor guy

Louie's legit just a lovable, laid back, evil triplet. *God, I love him.*

I've always liked blue more than red, but I think I like Huey's personality the most. I've always planned things ahead and I don't like to be caught off guard or forced into spontaneity. I'm also a perpetual worrywart. That pretty much hits Huey's new personality on the head- plus when I was a kid I was an avid Boy Scout. The parallels are kinda scary! Ironically, I'm a middle child. My family doesn't follow the usual sibling tropes. That being said, I can't wait to see more of the show! I'm pretty interested in Dewey as well.

I personally don't have a favorite, I like them all equally.

In the end Louie is ‘the smartie’ he is clever and observant of both the world and others, he is sensitive but a cynic. He cares for his family clearly. He is ‘lazy’ but also just not an adventurer at heart. I really like his interactions with Goldie as an adult closed to him in ideals while also someone he can learn from in both her lessons but also in not ending up exactly like her, too hardened.

I am really liking Disney's new take on the triplets in this new Ducktales show! Can't wait for the premiere.

HOW DO YOU PICK A FAVORITE THEY ARE ALL AWESOME!! Huey is adorable, Louie is funny, and Dewey has the most interesting personality. As far as which one I identify with the most, I'd say probably Huey (likes structure and is kind of nerdy, like me), but which one is my favorite? No clue. I'm gonna have to actually watch the show before I can decide that. ALSO: Huey is a Hufflepuff, Dewey is a Gryffindor, and Louie is a Slytherin. Those are my current impressions.

+Isaiah Scott, Fräulein Zuckerguss He could go both ways, Huey's definitely smart and studious like a Ravenclaw, but he's also very hardworking and dedicated to his trade (Jr. Woodchucks) and his family. Hard work and dedication are both Hufflepuff traits, and I thought they seemed slightly more prominent in him than his smarts. It's a bit of a toss-up, but I thought he was a little more Hufflepuff than Ravenclaw

It was really hard for me to choose a favorite as well, but eventually... and I do mean eventually... my favorites became Webby and Dewey.

I like Louie's set up cause it makes him more mature, compared to the other ducks. By this I mean he's seems to have more of a teenage personality, where the other 2 more child like. Well it's hard to explain honestly since all of them have their own traits that makes them look more mature, but Louie is the one almost every growing teen can get the most. The Mr.Popular of the group that wants to be more grown up, but often seen as the trouble making rebel in the process. It's great cause each of the triplets + webby is taking on a type of demographic that draws everyone. Give it some good writing, and great gags, and it will be a another classic of it's current Era.

Huey - detail oriented worrier, nerd. Dewey - goofy attention seeking middle child Louie - money driven, possibly evil.... they sound kind of like the Bob's burgers kids to me

I didn't realize that characteristics similarities with Scrooge, it's quite clever!

I see myself in all the triplets, but I see a lot of myself in Louie. And he is involved in my favorite gag and delivery in the pilot. "Who's the evil triplet?" "Louie." "Eh." This gag will never cease to make me smile. That response easily makes Louie my favorite.

What I'm looking forward to most is seeing how Scrooge's character is handled. I know the reboot is going to combine traits from a lot of previous character portrayals, both on TV and in comics, and I'm *especially* excited to see how they incorporate Don Rosa's expansion on the Barksian canon. But I'm curious as to what that will mean for Scrooge's personality. So far, it looks like he'll be closer to his comic book personality than his previous DuckTales incarnation. And I sincerely hope that's the case, because the Barks/Rosa Scrooge is my favorite Scrooge. I'm an MBTI nerd; I'm really into the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. Scrooge is introverted, intuitive, thinking and judging--INTJ. At least, he is according to Barks and Rosa's portrayals. Not so much the original DuckTales (he's more of an ISFP in that; same functions, different order). And I *love* that he's Disney's most prominent INTJ. Pretty much all the rest are villains. But Scrooge at his worst is an anti-hero. I hope they keep that particular typing for him, so that I don't have to do a separate personality analysis of the DuckTales Scrooges.

I want to do one of these videos on Scrooge AND Donald, since there are changes for them both, but I think i'm going to wait a week or two. I just don't have time to do another before the premier, and I want more information on both of them and their relationship.

I'm 100% Louie (coincidentally due to my love of the color green oddly enough). Sure, I'm an ideas guy and i make some smart moves, but some days i don't have the motivation.

Well, This "It's a Show about Family" - thing reminded me of Alex Hirsch (creater of Gravity Falls). His Quote: "Gravity Falls is not just a Show about Mystery, its about characters." And THAT's how you create amazing Shows!

2:40 It's interesting you should say this - in the original comics it was often implied that Scrooge got along better with his great-nephews than with Donald because Donald just wanted to stay at home and live a quiet life (which Scrooge considered lazy), while the nephews shared Scrooge's thirst for adventure. It'll be interesting to see how Scrooge's relationship with Louie develops if Louie is eager to make money yet at the same time avoids unnecessary effort.

No, they didn't. In fact, they often defended Donald from Scrooge. But the reason why the kids often loved globe-trotting was for the adventure. Donald was more practical. They never were given their fair share of the treasure they found so Donald hated adventuring for that reason. He has to provide for the kids. ..something his nephews and even Scrooge forgets in the comics.

If you take a look at the intro, it has Scrooge chasing his number one dime with the rest of the family following close behind. But on the more subtle side, it has Louie holding a bunch of treasure before dropping it all to chase a bouncing coin in much the same way that Scrooge does the dime. While the dime can mean many things for Scrooge, I think it's safe to assume that Louie's journey to resist his laziness will be an ongoing theme in much the same way finding their mother has become Dewie's quest. The new intro does a great job embodying the boys' new characteristics in subtle ways, this little tidbit is by far my favorite.

I always liked Louie the best in the original series, but I agree, I actually came across your videos because Dewey is really starting to grow on me like he never has. Great vids!

Can we take a second to just admire how well this show was casted? When it first aired I didn’t know any of the voice actors, but now each time I hear them I automatically recognize them. Sadie From Steven Universe, Jean Ralphio from Parks and Rec, Abed from Community, Panda from We Bare Bears Purple Man from Jessica Jones And Beck Bennet.

I just realized in the clip where Webbie ask the triplets who was the evil one heard all from the original cartoon is there in the background.

My favorite so far would be Louie

I think another layer to Louie is that he is actually very emotional and cries often. He covers this up by acting cool and confident when in reality he is insecure and not as collected as he tries to seem.

Im listening to Louies voice and im like WHO IS THIS HE SOUNDS FAMILIAR, then it hits me PANDA FROM WE BARE BEARS!

I relate a lot to Louie’s laziness and lack of a genuine work ethic. He always tries to take the easy way out and find shortcuts to get a reward. I’m a bit like that. I’m not as much of a confident, smooth-talking scammer, but I am pretty lazy, unmotivated, a procrastinator, and I’m more focused on the reward than on the work it takes to get it. I also give up on big projects when it seems like there’ll be too many obstacles in the way, and I always try to find the easy way out of my work whenever I can. I acknowledge that the majority of these (if not all of them) are faults, which is why I both hate and love Louie simultaneously. He represents everything that I am, and I hate it cuz I know that attitude won’t get him anywhere in life, but ultimately, I love him cuz it’s nice to see someone so much like me. I’m conflicted over him, and that just reminds me of the balancing act of my own personal development. Learning to utilize some of my skills (ie: finding shortcuts and more efficient ways to accomplish a task) and to hopefully shed others (ie: being too quick to give up).

I got to say I've really been enjoying your Ducktales videos, I feel like they hit on the mark on what the new reboot series is going to be. I think another interesting thing about the new Louie is that it could also be referring to a Ducktales episodes called Much To Do About Scrooge: disney.wikia.com/wiki/Much_Ado_About_Scrooge In it, we meet a sales man called Filler Brushbill who is able to sell anyone ANYTHING, including Scrooge. However, he isn't a bad guy, he's just a really good salesman and Louie particular in the episodes rather admires the guy for it. The episode even ends with Louie asking Filler if he has what it takes to be a salesman. So, can't help but think a little bit of inspiration came from that too. Anyway, I can't wait for the new show and I also can't wait to see more of your videos on it. Keep up the great work.

Yeah, I thought about including that episode, since I knew the salesman thing was one of his few moments of unique character in the original, but my script wound up going broader. Thanks for watching though! They're a lot of work, but it's fun to see other fans responses and opinions! I'm looking forward to the new show too (though a little intimidated by how much I'll have to work with in just a few days!)

You can kind of tell by their clothes too. Huey has the collar shirt (studious), Dewey is in long-sleeves (not sure what that means) and Dewey always has his hands in his hoodie pockets!

Louie has always been like Goldie, but with morals and laziness. Very relatable.

Re: who's your favourite nephew? Originally, it was Huey, for the simple reason that we shared the same name. Not "Huey", mind you, but "Ole". In Norwegian, the triplets are named "Ole", "Dole" and "Doffen". That said, I think he might still be my favourite. I probably identify just as much with Dewey now, but I've found Huey more fun to watch than Dewey so far, probably because the major things we do have in common is being the oldest sibling, and the responsible, organized nerd. As a side-note: Louie being kinda lazy actually makes his Norwegian name a little prophetic. "Doffen" sounds very similar to "Doven", which means "Lazy" in Norwegian. Funny how things turn out sometimes.

@@PxndaCakes I relate to him because of his personality. I think it is the best. But when I was younger the old ducktales didn't show us their personalities that much so I used to say he was my fav because of the green color and also bc of his beautiful voice in my language.

AS the youngest of three, relate to Louie. As the youngest you get away With alot of things, and i have been Called lazy by my siblings. Me and my siblings we where alot like Huey dewie and louie. I hate responsibilities and attention. But I'm used to charm my way throughout trouble, but it doesn't make me the evil one, I grew up with my siblings taking charge and always being responsible I just the one who stays back at the sideline and jumps in when my siblings can't handle something by being the calmer perspective.

Louie had a great establishing character moment in the Mount Neverrest episode. After finding out there was no treasure and Scrooge was only after bragging rights, he immediately noped out and spent the rest of the episode in a B-plot.

I remember from childhood comics about Huey, Louie and Duey, about how they get into big fight with uncle Donald. Each of them give him example of better uncle that they could live with, but the interesting thing - they don't agree with each other, and so they go each to different uncle house for a day, just to show Donald that they don't need him. One go to Gladstone, One to Srooge (btw. Louie pick him) and one to Fethry Duck's home as they help each uncle durning that day. Donad was spying on them all the time, and saw how all the other family members were nice to Huey, Louie and Duey, and get upset, thinking that he overeacted. The same happend with boys, as they realize that while others may love them and care of them telling them how they are good boys and all, but only uncle Donald really knows how they are, not seeing them as "one of the perfect triplets". So they go back home, but gets idea that Donald may be angry at them for running from home for whole day, so they set few traps in it, but Donald was so happy that they return that he buy them a cake and not knowing about traps he gat right into one with whole cake in his hands... In that comics were also hints on how each of them have some trades that are individual only for them, and the other two, don't share the same interest. Hence the different choices they made picking "better" uncle. Also, fun fact in comics Donald is the only person who can tell them apart from each other when they don't wear color coded shirts and hats. It turns out that living with identical triplets for so many years makes his eyes very sharp in picking differences.

Now that the season is coming to a close, you should do a follow-up to these videos. I mean, we know Louie has an evil side, but now de also know that, maybe, he's the most sensible one. And the others have that twist too: Huey is the one in charge, but he can lose control the worst. And Dewey likes adventure, but also likes to betray his brothers only to feel special!

I belive Louie have a great heart inside! And it's proven he's smart in the ep " the dangerous game...night!" And he's face at the ep " Nothing can stop Della Duck!". He's reaction really made me cry of emotion so he's the most sensitive for me 😊

Louie reminds me of the differences between businessmen of the early 1900s vs the late 1900s. Namely that older generations of businessmen thought rather highly about delivering a public service and good to the the world/nation/community, they imagined themselves making the world a better place and being the cutting edge of the market's ability to improve quality of life, all the while making a tidy profit off of it. In the late 1900s this became secondary or perhaps even irrelevant to business exists to make profit in any way that it possibly can and to do otherwise is to lose.

Louie's a Slytherin, Dewey's a Gryffindor, and Huey's a Ravenclaw.

The episode Much Ado about Scrooge sort of explores that expect of Louie as he admires and considers being a salesman.

I was literally thinking that Louie sounded like a slytherin right before you said it in the video lol. That made me laugh.

Also, +Seaniccus, everybody is talking about Dewey and Webby's interactions, but i kinda wanna see Louie interact with W, they got opposing traits that could play eachother off very well, she's REALLY energetic and adventurer type, and he's very laidback, relaxed and lazy, wich could be used for comedy and interesting dialogues? :)

When you get to Scrooge, are you going to bring up "Scrooge McDuck and Money" or "Sport Goofy in Soccermania"?

Louie is definitly my favorite of the triplets. He's lazy, he's people-smart and his comedic timing is amazing

has anyone noticed Huey, Dewey and Louis' new outfit match the chipmunks. I mean Huey has a hat like Alvin, Dewey has basically nothing like Simon and louie has a jacket with a hoodie like Theodore.

I remember in the original cartoon Dewey idolized the Hard to Say No to Salesman who is slick, talented at what he does and is a pretty decent guy.

Huey is like Sabel from Animal Crossing because he can sometimes be working on something (like earning a jr. woodchuck badge in hueys case and in sable's, working on making clothes) and Dewey is like Mabel because he likes to be in charge of stuff and Louie is Label, off doing his own thing

I think louie is just like me lmao. I can relate to him so much that's why he's my favourite character from ducktales.

3:08 I think that one of the episodes coming up this month might be that very one, being where he deposits Scrooge's Number One Dime without knowing what it is into a Vending Machine and struggles to get it back

Judging what was being said in this video, Louie seems to be reminding me of someone else that Bobby Moynihan once voiced, Chet Alexander from Monsters University (yeah, that evil one eyed crustacean monster's all about greed, and his whole fraternity's a Slytherin).

Oh my god I can relate to luey on so many levels ESPECIALLY being th youngest of me and my siblings
