So.... What I got from this trailer was a tactical rpg that is fuelled with cartoon physics, a malarkey government system and game mechanics, and the equivalent of a every day stocking and panty with garter belt complex of their adventures, but in the demon realm.... I'M BUYING THIS GAME

Wow good job Nintendo/ NIS for actually advertising! I thought this game was going to be swept under the rug like the DS version was. Also, I like how you took care to explain what Disgaea as a series was about for RPG fans who have yet to experience it! I can't wait to play Disgaea on the go again after all these years, dood!

If you like SRPGs, this is the game you need to get outside of Fire Emblem. The best SRPG to flip the traditional rules on their head. It's also one of the best games ever.

For those who are trying the demo, the demo DOES NOT transfer to the full game like the ps4 version. Just a heads up.

This game looks really REALLY nice adding it to my buy list

Alphamenter just go to disgaea 5 on the eshop. It should be on the coming soon on the eshop and then download the demo

darn, if only there was a way to transfer my save data from the ps4 to the switch version. i really want that portability, but i've done too much on the ps4 version to want to start over.

This game was one of the main reasons why I bought a Switch. Next week will be fun. I haven't played one of these since PS2.

D5 was released on a homeconsole oversaturated by AAAs and Sports games Since Switch have few games, this game have more opportunity to sell (also May is a bad month for Switch) I have this game on my PS4 and it's pretty good, I hope they can port the old games too

And, apparently, the DLC that PS4 owners had to pay for is all free in the Switch version. I knew that I would consider picking up Disgaea 5 on Switch over PS4 (I don't have a Switch yet, it's sold out in every store where I live, I do have a PS4 though) if I decided to get it...but that's pretty funny.

I imagine since portable consoles sell like hotcakes in Japan that everyone flocked to this game. Plus lotsa people just love the series

So it's looks like the disgaea series that are in the console version (disgaea 4 the promise unforgotten instead of having new epilouge stories, you can have access to all DLC characters and features or systems like the arena)

I'm very confused. I thought this game would come out on May 26th, 2017 (at least in germany), but the physical copies of the full game are already available in my local electronic store. Have they jumped ahead with the release in some countries? Not that I'm complaining, in fact I bought the game the moment I saw it on the store shelf. I'm just a little bit confused because there was no word of something like that nor did I found any news of this and the e-Shop (for germany) still says 26th of May. o_O

i've never playded the series but saw a bit of it on a few old game informer mags should i get into it?

The demo for this game looks great on the handheld, can't wait for the full release. Perfect for on the go play.

Everything you’re doing so far with the Nintendo Switch from the advertising, marketing, and the games, etc have been great. Keep up on all the good work in 2017. I've been waiting for a handheld version of D5 since I didn't ever really jump on board to the PS4. I guess technically, this is it. Loved the series since teenage me randomly decided to get Disgaea 2 from the store over a decade ago, and although I've never gone hardcore level grinding mode, I usually do enjoy the stories, characters, and dabbling in the level grinding just a bit. Being able to do it on the go though? Sign me up! Actually, already got it preordered. Only a few days to go...

For those who want to know what the Disgaea franchise is, as someone coming from Disgaea 2, the best way to describe it. It's like an Anime-esque fire emblem without complaints from fans about being too anime now and on a whoooole lot of crack.

It's not the hype talking - THIS is the game I'm getting a switch for. Disgea is my favourite RPG of all time... ...after Golden Sun of course.

The Prinnies (the penguin looking things that blow up) end every line with "dood", pronounced the same as dude. Almost every fan of the searies I know (inluding myself) spell it dood now.

Loli Hunter です How so? It's a Atlus series who are owned by Sega. They mainly focused the Persona series on Sony systems because it's a Japanese centric series and Sony's the biggest platform with decent specs in Japan. That's the only reason.If Switch can keep up the sales in Japan and it's not going to be too much work to port it over to Switch, they probably will since portables are the it thing in Japan and since there's no Sony portable anymore it would make sense to do a Persona 4 golden type game for 5. Unless Atlus hates more money

DCT nah. Atlus is possibly contracted with Sony at this point. There is no use switching consoles back and forth. Plus, all Persona games has been on Sony platforms, not nintendo. Nintendo got Shin megami tensei. (the original or whatever it is)
