It was originally on the ps2 I think. Then came the DS and psp ports (the DS port had more content)

Yes, apparently you're correct. I remember playing the game on the PS2 back in 2003. I just could not believe it had been more than a decade since that time.

Most of the disgaea games are independent of one another. Like final fantasy. There will be some references you don't get but nothing to dull the enjoyment. You who are new to the series are in for such a treat.

Atlus used that same phrase in their trailer for the original PS1 release. I thought that was a nice throwback. Only thing missing is the song by Tsunami Bomb.

Let's face facts. That song is not coming back, like, ever... sadly due to licensing matters, and that Atlus was the one who secured the song license, and as NISA is handling the licensing for the Nippon Ichi games by themselves since a long time ago (except for La Pucelle... somehow, due again to licensing issues with the original published Mastiff), neither of Atlus's song additions have come back since then... the english version of Red Moon, the instrumental version of My Comrade, the alternate song used instead of AKUMA Drops, and of course, The Invasion from Within by Tsunami Bomb.

brings back memories to playing this game on DS which i still have and i'm hyped because i'm throwing money at NIS America for the limited edition, mainly because the mousepad sold me on it. also that description Nintendo has made, i give that an 11/10 for being on the risky side.

am so happy am buying a nintendo switch on the 20th 11 days left am hyped

I can't help but wonder if if you select multiple units to take out an enemy and it dies before they use their turns are they still used up in the original game or can you command them to do something else like in Disgaea 2?

Laharl for Smash Ultimate dood!

With all the versions this game has gotten through the years i must have sank around 3000 hours on this masterpiece, and i am looking forward to wasting more of my fleeting years of life on this new beauty.

I can't afford this so the other day I bought the original on Vita and it's really good. If this is a true remasterpiece then it will be nothing short of FABULOUS!

Ordered the rosen queen's finest edition, have to wait until the 12th for the Europe release. I am so very hyped for this

Disgaea just did a collab with a game I love... It's so cool!

Got it today and will start playing in November. After I beat another game on the Switch.

I thought this was just going to be a port of the PSP version, but it looks like they updated everything and even brought the newer sprites in. The female Brawlers are even the updated ones from Disgaea 3 onward.

My favorite Disgaea Game and Etna is my most beloved Demon in the series. I have first watch the Anime after that buyer and play this Game on DS. Now I have Remasted on Switch 🤒 So much humor and grind fun.

I put a lot of hours into this on my psp, then D3 on vita followed by D4, again on vita. I also have D5 on the Ps4. So what I really want is a D2 remaster.

Nippon Ichi is a great company, many of their games being on the Exclusive to the PlayStation 2, they should get more like Alchemists of Alrevis, or La Pucelle or even a port of the wii version of Phantom Brave

Daaaamn, i need a nitendo switch now!

For everyone thinking between Disgaia 1 or 5, go with 5. It comes with a TON more characters. Including Etna, Flonne and Laharl from D1 and every character from every other Disgaia game. The gameplay is exactly the same but with improved mechanics and the Story and characters even tough not as good as D1 are really quirky and fun. My fav is the Curry eating rabbit girl Usalia. The main character is meh but I like Seraphina a lot, she's your typical spoiled princess but her Pocket Netherworld is super cool.

this is the only one i tried i enjoyed it wonder if the rest are good too

As someone who's been a fire emblem fan for over 10 years, I will say this isn't the same. I don't mind anime style, but I don't like the fan service and tropes. This game is ok because it was always like that and meant to be like that. Fire Emblem on the other hand, although it has always had anime aesthetics, stayed away from the weaboo anime tropes until Fire Emblem awakening. Now it seems it's expected that all the new Fire Emblem games have these tropes which saddens me very much :0

You need to beat the game normally to get the Pleinair bill in the Dark Assembly.

I think I’ll play 5 first before revisiting 1 again. 1 has been re-released so many times I’ve become way too familiar with the stories and characters. Time to try something new first before meeting up with Laharl, Etna, Flonne and Mid-Boss again.

The Switch is gonna be known as the system for old third party ported games.

Better give me disgaea 6 after this
