Discovered! The Real Jewish Calendar - Appendix A. Evidence of Josephus

The current modern Jewish calendar can not be used to accurately date historical events before 350AD. Although the structure of the calendar was not different, a very important and little appreciated detail in how the calendar was synchronized with the seasons has been overlooked. In this presentation I show evidence from the writings of Josephus. It can very easily be shown that the exact dates that Josephus records can not be reconciled with the current modern calendar. But they easily reconcile with the calendar based on the ripeness of the winter barley that was operating during Biblical times.

...your efforts are appreciated, and I too have researched the origins of how we observe days. Many overlook our adoption of the names we have for the days of the week and months. Our Creator never gave his chosen people names for the same, but only referred to the times numerically. I have found that the continued efforts to translate from the days we received from the Babylonians only cause confusion and doubt. Of course, the adversary has interfered continously in fulfillment of what we read in Re.12:9. There is always another view or evidence being presented that we think as some enlightenment to truth being revealed,..but that just leads to further confusion. Our focus must remain on what Jesus preached and taught and not undermine what the Father has allowed the adversary to do because of our turning away from him.

Thank you for this video, it was a good follow on from The Real Jewish Calendar part 2. You talked about the date for the death of Tiberius and that that year must have contained a 13th month. Taking the year 37 AD or the Jewish year 3797 (from both the calendar converts you used in this video) gives the 16th year of the Metonic cycle (3797-199x19=16). Looking at the table “Metonic Cycles Anchored to Different Years” the 16th year of the cycle is not a leap year in the modern Jewish calendar sequence but neither is it in either the Artaxerxes Era or the Table of Kebioth sequences. The only sequence in which year 16 is a leap year is the Syrian Locale, would you consider this to be the most accurate of the sequences you described?

It is not a matter of being accurate. The different metonic cycles result from the particular method of calculation being used in the different population centres. The Syrian locale with it's particular environmental conditions give rise to a barley ripeness relationship with the lunar cycle which results in a particular metonic cycle. One which is not the same as the current Jewish calendar nor the Babylonian calendar metonic cycles. This abib based metonic cycle is not recognized by the vast majority and has been "forgotten" through the centuries. Whether by design or ignorance, that is conjecture. But it IS the one that God has based His actual calendar on and all prophecy is tied to. That could be the real reason in Jesus' parable about missing the Wedding Feast. The foolish virgins thought they were doing everything right, but they missed out when the Feast was actually done.

Hello, I have really enjoyed the series of videos, but I have some doubts: How do I convert from Abib based to Gregorian? How do I know the length of Cheshvan and Kislev?

Your question would take a lot of explanation and teaching. Converting between calendars is a tricky thing. You do have to always remember the rules of the Gregorian calendar and the Julian calendar. The Jewish calendar months alternate between 29 and 30 days. After that, it's a lot of math.

I was intrigued and have learned we shouldn't be dogmatic about anything. (Unless a salvation issue) Scripture says, in the end times the holy spirit would reveal things to us. I believe the Lord is showing me something that many preach against. (Paul being a forshadow of the martyred/trib saints, after he was blinded, and that we are his BODY. His body was ressurected, after it was missing in the tomb) anywho.. The only thing I'm curious about with the calendar and my own personal research, is, book of Jasher gave some clues to the gates and portals (judges - samson and the gate) and it's goes by the sun-solar. With that said, it brings the first Wednesday after the spring equinox, then count 14 days to passover. Also scripture says the first month is abib/nisan, thats in aries. What's your thoughts? God bless you and thanks for sharing, as I thoroughly enjoyed your study. 🙏🤗

I get into the various evidences in my series of the 70 Weeks Prophecy. Specifically the one dealing with the 62 Weeks. It seems the end of the 62 Weeks is actually the year of the coming of the Messiah - when Jesus was born. Also the Eclipse Event Sign of 6 BC shows God marking that year as special.

Actually no. If he was born in 6 BC and died in 31 AD, he would have been 35 at the time.
