Discover Mongolia's Ancestral Art : Cashmere | SLICE | FULL DOCUMENTARY

Christopher, a former music and movie producer, shuttles between Mongolia and Nepal, between herds of goats in the steppe and his cashmere workshops in Kathmandu. Married to a Mongolian princess and patron of a polo team in the steppe, Christopher makes one of the most beautiful cashmeres in the world. Each blanket takes six days to spin and weave by hand. In Mongolia, the cashmere industry provides work and income for a third of the population.

Very interesting documentary! What an opportunity for Allegra to experience her mother's culture. Christopher seems like a very unique person. (Just as the narrator explained the sacred number 108, I looked and saw there were 1.08M subscribers.)

An exceptional, modern, creative, and "nice" form of Western Colonialism. What an amazing life story of this man and his family. Allegra is a beautiful girl. Thanks for sharing.

No such thing! This is family to him and he brings his family prosperity. Colonialism is done by a government to overthrow and enslave for economic gain

During the second world war my grandparents in Northern Italy had many Mongolians in their house. They were fighting with the Germans. My granmother said that they were all sleeping on her floor and that she had to use a sweeping brush to move them to be able to walk from one room to another. The only other thing that i remember my grandmother telling me about them ( i was a child at the time) was that they would say about themselves that they were ugly and that Italians were beautiful in comparison. So if any historians deny the fact that Mongolians were ever in Europe during WW2 it ISN'T TRUE !!!! They most certainly were !!!

The daughter probably speaks Nepalese as they lived in Kathmandu for many years, in addition to German and English. Christopher probably speaks some Mongolian, but not enough for business.
