Thank you for this video, and for not dropping f-bombs, etc. I am an amateur and have a few questions: I am surprised that you are shooting the Featherfill right over bare metal, and am wondering if you did the same (direct to bare metal) on your Impala many years ago? Have you also used Featherfill over bare metal on other projects since then? If they are holding up, it would speak to the endurance of using Featherfill direct-to-metal. I am blocking out my guide coat (over 2K epoxy primer) this week, and was concerned about spraying the Featherfill over bare metal areas where I block sanded through the epoxy, but it sounds like this isn't a problem, correct? The can says it's ok for bare metal areas one inch in diameter or less, and I have sanded some areas larger than that where metal is starting to show through. Thank you again.

I hope I did not mislead you. I applied Kd3000 Expoxy onto my bare metal surface 1st. The applied featherfill g2. Cut thru to bare steel can be handled with an application of KD3000 sealer just prior to recoating. Hope that clarifies things

@@troykane My fault-looking again, I see that I missed where the text in the video stated that you used the HOK direct to metal epoxy before the Featherfill. Thanks for clarifying!
Why 220? I would start with 150!

Good question! Evercoat recomends 220. The finer the paper the less chance of shrinkage later on. Plus I like to sand wet so I have less dust and 220 is wet or dry is readily available.

No.... it dosnt ever recommend blocking with 220..it recommends finishing off substrate with 220 before shooting the g2....
They say you can't wet sand feather fill
