Some KZreadrs say it is necessary to watch them to the end, others say every second helps. I am wondering which is correct, as will gladly do 30 secs of a 3 minute add, but don’t want to do 3 mins. Always let the shorter ads run.
You found some great prices there 👏
In Sainsbury’s if you don’t use your card, kenco coffee costs £7 but is £5.50 when you use your card.
I always use a store card, what a difference!
In Romania Sensodine îs 5 euros/PC a big price
Some great offers this week.

I found a sensitive brand in our US Dollar Tree that is very good! Right now $1.25 US. I have sensitive teeth and it really works. Made in US.
Totally agree everyone who watches the video should be prepared to subscribe, like, and let the ads run to allow Jane and Mike to earn an income for all their hard work.

I use our senior discount ,on senior day monthly, combined with the app and read and compare adds to the local Costco bulk store. We have a productive summer garden, and local farm products are widely available. We belong to a local gardeners group where members post trades and give aways of produce. We are now stocked up on pantry items , paper goods, hygiene, toiletries items for the coming winter months, including the holidays baking items. It is a good feeling. I enjoy your thorough marketing vid. Vigilance is the answer for all purchases.
Thank you so much, Jane and Mike

You did a great job shopping all of the great sale offers! Every bit helps! I shop similarly to you. I buy a store brand unless the name brand is a better price. Like you, there are times I don't find the store brand an acceptable substitute. Oddly enough, like you, it is often in personal care and some cleaning products that I buy the name brand due to quality differences.

I use the loyalty card at every store that has one. I am always amazed at folks who don’t have one. I often save 25 to 30 percent! We also get “points” that I cash in for money off my bill. I could also get products or money off at the gas pump. Unless I pay a fee, the rewards expire, I don’t pay the fee and cash my rewards/points in pretty often.
In the states some of our grocery store cards not only offer $ off certain items we also get $ off gas which is very helpful now a days. Have a good week end!
Love to see what you buy Jane! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Grocery store apps are great. You can check the price of an item in one store when you are at a different store to compare prices. I’ve found some sale prices while shopping in a smaller store to be higher than the regular price in the larger mainstream store. So convenient
We have a Kroger card here in the US and it works the same way. The nice thing is when we use it we earn points that we can then turn around and use at their gas station to get 10 and 20 cents off our gas per gallon. It is a nice little bonus when every penny counts.
So interesting to compare the prices and offers in UK to France, as well as the differnt products that aren't available here. A very enjoyable watch !

Thanks Jane and Mike. We live remote with 2 main grocery chain choices at our main home and really remote in our winter house where prices are double so we watch carefully for specials and stock up on good deals. We are keto so protein and dairy are our main foods and we manage the costs by eating a fairly repetitious menu and lots of fish we catch. We grow rocket and loose leaf lettuce, I make our 'chocolate', muffins/puddings and 'ice cream'. Meals are mainly fish, sausages or steak, mince made 100 ways, eggs, roast pork or chicken, bacon, quiche, cauliflower bake, green salad, frozen green beans, low carb wraps with ham and salad, home made soup. Treats are rare but we mainly choose frozen blueberries, pork crackle and nuts. I use tea, granulated coffee and make soda stream soft drinks, and Including household items we spend about $500-600 Australian per month.
I have the apps for Food Lion and Kroger. In addition as a military widow I have access to the Fort Gregg-Adams Commissary. So, as I shop carefully I can keep my grocery purchases in budget, including restocking pantry and freezer stocks.

Some of the prices are really, really good Jane. Dove in Ireland for that size ranges from €5 - €6 per can, Sensodyne is now over €6 per tube and Finish is now €9 for a 26 pack. Prices have just gone crazy on Branded products. Won't even go there on the price for meat or toilet rolls. You done really well, branded really does not come down to those prices when on offer here. One thing I can get cheaper is Butter !

Great video Jane, like you I plan what to buy where before I leave home, I start with a list of what I am missing, then I check the prices at the local to me supermarkets. I also look for the additional bargains at each supermarket. If I see a real barging I use my top up money (£50 in a separate purse ) to purchase then and then I sell them back to myself when I use them to top up my purse. I may also change my meal plan if an offer would make me a cheaper meal. Now I am off to look at the video you posted in the comments. I may have seen it before as I watch all of your videos but I can watch yours over and over and still pick up tips.

Great shopping haul. Ilove seeing your groceries.
Love the shopping hauls. I too have gone back to Finish tabs the difference is remarkable. Have ditched the loo cleaner in favour of stérèrent tablets. They work better I think. Quick squirt of bleach after round the toilet sparkling!
Lovely to be invited in to view the shopping haul and the use of your app. I have a store card and the points soon stack up.😊 I do envy the pure meat sausages you can purchase in France. Also toiletries are much so cheaper in Europe than Oz as our shampoos and toothpastes are pricy and the cheaper brands are rubbish. Enjoy packing the haul away.🎉 Thanks Mike and Jane. A very interesting and informative video.

Hi Jane, I have an account with Leclerc. It is easier to see on my computer than the app. I will try and use the app more often and carefully. Thank you for explaining how it works. Having info in French while I am still learning the language is tricky. It's a bit of work, but I think about what I save as "payment" for my time.
Wonderful savings on your food!
It's interesting seeing the different prices in other regions of France, I noticed Dove, I paid more than double what you paid, and also butter, we don't have that brand in my local Leclerc. I routinely check prices including per kilo as some 'offers' can be more expensive than a different size pack of the same product, especially true of coffee!

Having that card is so sensible, really good savings. I am off to Lidl tomorrow for the first time in months - rely on my OH being around to drive - and have downloaded the Lidl App, thanks to watching your videos (to my shame, I didn't know there was one). I see they have French week from 14th, so have already had a quick scan and recognise quite a few items from your shopping hauls! I love P Marseillais products, especially almond, I look out for them when we make it over to France.

I enjoy seeing your grocery hauls and seeing the difference in price with here in Canada. You haven’t done a garden update recently. Is it already finished there? I am preserving and canning a lot at the moment and will be finished with garden by the end of month. The season is so short. Have a good day.
You did a fantastic job on your grocery haul. It feels wonderful when you can get your regularly used items at a good price. I love my "digital discounts " on my grocery store app. I just shopped this morning and saved 75% by using the discounts, plus I get "rewards points" to use later to get an item for free. Love your video's. I'm looking forward to watching you cook with the items you got today

I consider the time that I spend comparing prices, and checking ads and offers, and digital coupons as my bonus wages for the day. Being on a fixed retirement income, when I spend my time saving us money, I look at that as a wage bonus. ( I am saving my income for other uses).
Prices on meat and cheese has shot up in Europe and food in general goes up and up still almost by the week. It's worth to shop around and use the offers and cards. I use an online store that offers their own brand, and in packs of 4 prices go down with 10%. I use it for shelf stable products every now and than and they deliver for free. With the price on gas it's even more worth now a days. Love your videos have a great weekend!
Best wishes from New Zealand. Great that you added the cost in New Zealand dollars. Saves me working it out later. 😁
Some bargains there jane! Nice to see some of the prices finally going down, albeit a small amount
Love ur grocery hauls. Btw, just saw a “remember when” video about colored toilet paper and thought of you 😄..Wow that’s great you get cash back using ur store card Jane 🤩! The closest we get here for cash back is getting points to use to get a free turkey or ham around holiday season. Otherwise, the store card is for the normal sales price.

I like to save my member card money on Christmas food also.
Thanks to being inspired by you I now only buy and eat discounted meat or ones on the Lidil app. My grocery bill for this week was £38, last week it was £29 ( for 2 people). We eat meat 5 days a week. I will then pop in for fresh milk or something that slipped my mind later in the week and spend about £5. I'm also, thanks to you trying the ' cook once eat twice' and the cheap and easy type meals of egg and chips etc! Great ideas, thank you!

I use several loyalty cards as well. I have noticed in the last couple of years that the store I do most of my shopping at have really cut back on the deals available through the loyalty program. I used to save up the points/dollars to use at Christmas and have around $200.00 to spend now it is much less and the offers are for things I do not buy. Trying to shop around more to find better deals at other stores, even if it means adding a bit of extra driving. I always enjoy seeing what your purchasing power gets you and the amounts spent for other countries. Thank you.

I enjoy your food hauls.

I think there’s an important point about frugality and becoming cash-free. And it’s that you only spend an exact amount when you shop with a debit card. No more opening your purse to find a leftover amount of cash because you withdrew a little more than you needed. For me this always became ‘free’ money - bounty that was frittered away on not so necessary items. I think it’s a great idea to use cards including loyalty cards that will save you yet more. The benefits absolutely outweigh any problems. Just as you would safeguard your cash, you just take care with your card. It’s all but impossible to prevent leaving a data trail nowadays, even when you withdraw cash from the bank! And what a substantial amount you saved Jane. A really great budget haul!

I use my sister's account when shopping at one store because I don't go there often. She can use points to help children and grandchildren. I utilize batch cooking as a single person because I don't mind eating the same thing for a couple of days. I actually plan it that way because if I have something I can heat and eat, I don't stop thru a drive up. I carry an insulated bottle to stop from paying for drinks when thirsty. One income has to stretch with a lot to cover.

I can’t use the Lidl shopping card since it is tied to the country of the phone number, lidl in my home country is a drive…bummer. That said when I stock up on butter, I freeze the extras. Unlike some cheeses it thaws beautifully. This assumes space in the tiny European freezers. In my town in France we have a Norma within walking distance. It is my go too for most food. For larger purchases we drive across the German border and go to Globus. I enjoy looking at your view of France and how it differs from mine in Lorraine.

Yes, you need a smart phone to use the lidl app and get the discounts
I've stopped doing my main shop in Lidl, I sat and spent a couple of hours checking prices and long gone are the days when lidl was half the price. I have only been doing my main shop now in leclerc, in 6 weeks I've earnt €6 on the card, I'm on €11 at the moment. You get extra money for buying eco products. I have found I am buying and spending less now. Also there is more choice in leclerc, this month I found kellogs have released frosties with honey and nuts, well now its just crunchy nut cornflakes, which I havent had for 9 years, I am so happy now 😁

And you are just wonderful!
Saving money on groceries in the US is a racket now. I shop on-line, because it's super easy to get deals with the coupons(I also spend a lot of time online), and you find out more info on the deals because so many of them have been tied to bulk buying in a way. Also, if you are in the store itself, you may never know about these coupons. Then: We also have to go into store for the other half of the deals, because they won't let you buy them on-line - for example beef or chicken sales. So, let me explain the bulk buying trick they are doing: You have to buy 4 bags of potato chips in order to get the bag for 2.25 a bag - otherwise the bag of chips in 4.99. OR You have to spend $40 with a particular brand like P&G (who make toliet paper, laundry soap ect.) to get $10 off. Their biggest trick is: If you buy 5 of these variety of items (unrelated like ketchup, cereal, box rice etc) you get $1 off each item. The last trick they do - is buy one get one free, on items you don't need 2 of or that would go bad if you had a second. So, with my wee family of 2 almost retired, I'm constantly 'buying ahead' and trying to make room for all this stuff to get the reasonable discount. Of course I only get the bulk deals on stuff I would normally buy - I don't get tricked into buying stuff I don't want - but I do believe that is what they are trying to do. Also, you need to have a card with the store to get any of this and if you shop online, you can pickup for free and not have to pay delivery.

You've got to be really careful here in Australia too. For example, our furball goes nuts for Dentastix, and the regular shelf price in the main supermarkets is $22 and they always go 'on special' for $15 except you can ALWAYS get them for $15.50 at a 'dollar store"! The regular price of a lot of things has really shot up - but those items regularly go on special, and the special price seems to be what the old normal price was. For example, taco kits are now $9!! This week they are half price, which is what we used to pay. It's infuriating! Cheers from Sydney!
