Sugar ideas for anyone curious with not much storage space - from a prepper. If you buy regular sugar you can make your own brown sugar and powdered sugar. Brown sugar is just 1 cup sugar and 1 Tbsp molasses whisked together and powdered sugar is just blended 1 cup sugar and 1 Tbsp cornstarch.

Very nice 👍. Thank you 😊
Thoroughly enjoy these haul videos. But I can't imagine this will last a whole year. And $600 is far less than most much smaller families spend for a couple weeks of groceries. You did very well. Thanks for sharing. 😊P.S. Just a final thought: I find so many posters apologize for their purchases if they're not "organic" or "healthy". Why? When did we give permission to the food police to intimidate and shame us? We buy what we like and afford. It's not their business. (ok...off my soap box ... lol)

Well, this all the haul does not represent a whole year's supply of groceries for our family. Just supplemental groceries. We raise our own chickens for eggs, chickens for meat, steer for meat, we get raw milk and have raw honey here at the farm. We raise grass-fed lamb and put a lot of that up for the year. I buy bulk organic flour from Azure standard and country Life naturals. This is just items that I need specifically from Aldi that I buy in bulk. ☺️

@Heartway Farms I am with you on this! Someone commented on one of my videos that there were "so many chemicals" in my food in my haul. 🤔 I ignored it, but inside, I was like, " For heavens sake, theres forever chemicals in the rainwater!!!!" You can not escape everything!!! We can pick and choose our battles ourselves. 🙄

Yes.. it okay to keep some preservetiv item for long term used meaning if at the end of year all the chemicals already pass over of less.. better have some food rather nothing to eat .. those that you used everyday it's good you have organic
Thats a good stock up for 600 . I think a lot of people don't realise how much they actually eat at home and out and how much it costs them to eat out . We eat almost all meals at home or we make food to take a lot. It's a treat to plan a road trip knowing we'll stop at our favourite bakery. I don't mind buying condiments at all. I do now make a few special ones like apple butter bbq and peach Worcestershire sauce because I love learning how they're made and experimenting with our tastes but they're a small part of our diet. I focus instead on the majority of our food being whole and healthy . I just filled a box with raw sugar for all preserving but we get rapadura for kitchen use in coffee and daily food. Maple syrup is really hard to get at Aldi for quite a while and my youngest is limited by what she can tolerate so we're starting to mix it with golden sy. We can only do our best. You are doing amazing. I can't wait to see the basement /cellar tour 😍 Thank you for sharing lovelies 💜

I’m a mom who had one child with severe dairy allergy. I can’t tell you how many sales I did not get because the item had dairy in it. Holiday meals are the same. I read every ingredient so it is 100% safe and no ER visits with a sick child. When allergies are not an issue it must be heaven to jyst shop the prices!!!!
Our Aldi and Lidl had butter 2 for $4 limit 6. We went back and got more. Lidl also had Sugar $1.69 4lbs and semi-sweet choc chips $1.29. We stocked up on that too!

My family is the opposite for condiments. We go through maybe 2 bottles of ketchup per year, but cases of every different kind of mustard Aldi carries.
One thing about blueberries that I just learned. Buying wild blueberries, those tiny ones, r supposed to be comparable to organic blueberries and do taste better 😉
Lidl had butter for $1.99 and the Aldi around the corner lowered their price to match. We stocked up getting 12 at a time from both places by both of us going.

When I get the questions I just say it's for the food pantry, they don't need to know my own food pantry. Where I live winter has hit so one could just say it's for the winter so you don't have to go out in the bad weather.

Blessings! So sorry for your loss!
I purchase for just myself but still have many items to last me 1 even 2 years. I really hit Walmart when they reduced vegetables for a rollback price, Cranberry Sauce at another grocery store when it was less than a $1, laundry detergent for another 2 years from a surplus store, and many personal care items from the Dollar Tree. It can be done and will really save in the long run. $600.09 for a year stock up is incredible ! BUT, as you said there is so very much already stored in the cellar etc. You have been planning ahead and are goid stewards
I started canning beans last year (only the varieties we use) definitely save by canning them myself instead of buying a can of beans at 1.79 each ..and less waste
Don't know if you do Costco, but they have a really good price on pecans (my favorite!), 2lb bags for $16! They are organic also.
I can't stock up on some things because the kids think if there's so many, they can overeat! Chips, cookies, peanut butter, nuts...if I buy it it's gone.
Since I started prepping more I noticed how I concentrate on food that I can mix and match yet keep it healthy. Thinking more on what we actually need and like also. I don't buy anything that we won't eat.
Yep I love the Never Any bacon too
We just got an big Aldi's in our area and my husband and I have just been shopping regularly there since September. But I have never seen Simply Nature brand but we have been buying the Sweet Harvest brand.
If you buy sugar in bulk off of Azure Standard, you could make your own brown sugar with just molasses and the sugar. I’ve been doing it more and it tastes so much better. I order off of Azure Standard too and love how I can buy organic stuff in bulk! -Sarah

Whole pumpkin stores fine, but at about 50F/15C, so between the rootcellar and the livingroom temperature wise.
I noticed that you had purchased brown sugar molasses and sugar to make brown sugar which would probably be cheaper in the long run

Fun to watch your hauls and compare prices where we are. Aldi for organic stuff, fruit, and some of the bread from France way less expensive than other places. Be careful though, many of their brand I notice is bioengineered if that matters to you, it does for us. Happy Thanksgiving to you all 😊

I love Aldi's but I remember going to Aldi's 25 years ago and being able to get all my canned goods, dairy, vegetables, and bread, bakery plus all my pasta for under $40 sometimes under $20 for 4 people so they still beat Walmart prices but their canned goods have quadrupled at least. I still 💕 love Aldi's!

Great haul! I think that was a good price for 2 pounds of pecans. Here (MS), they are anywhere from $10 to $12/lb. in grocery stores. More if bought fresh.
I shop Aldi for organics. When I first started buying the organic beef hot dogs, there were 8 for $3.99!!! Then 6 for 4.99, then 6 for $5.49, then The disappeared for the past 2 years. Now 5 for $6.49 now is outrageous! I buy Aldi organic ketchup too. I won't be maki g any that I don't like as long as it is available there

I’m shocked at how much cheaper Aldi is in your area. In Portugal many of your prices are double here!
Walmart pecans were 12.67 this week. Like you I was at Aldis and compared prices on my phone. For that much difference I went to Walmart for the pecans.
I love Aldi, they're my go-to store for most things. For some name brand things that are must-haves, I shop at Vons (Safeway/Albertsons). There are some things that I have to get at Costco because we use more or the price just can't be beat as well. A 2 pound bag of pecans at Costco used to be around $12, but have gone up to $13.89 (as of my October 31 trip), but that's still a lot cheaper than Aldi. Of course, unless you have a membership already, the cost of buying one probably wouldn't make up for just that difference.
