ദിലീപ് നായകനായ സൗണ്ട് തോമ ഇറങ്ങിയ സമയം. എന്റെ അച്ഛൻ ആ സിനിമ ടിവിയിൽ വന്നപ്പോ കണ്ടു തമാശ കേട്ട് ആർത്തു ചിരിച്ചു. എന്റെ വീടിന്റെ അടുത്ത് വെള്ളപ്പാണ്ടുള്ള, മുച്ചുണ്ട്( cleft lip)ഉള്ള ഒരു ആന്റിയുണ്ട്. പേര് അച്ചു.എന്റെ ചേച്ചിയുടെ കല്യാണവും കഴിഞ്ഞു, ഞാൻ ഹോസ്റ്റലിലും ആയപ്പോ ഒക്കെ എന്റെ അമ്മയെ എന്ത് ആവശ്യത്തിനും സഹായിക്കാൻ വന്നിരുന്നു അവർ. ഒരു ദിവസം അച്ചു ആന്റി വന്നപ്പോ എന്റെ അച്ഛൻ പറഞ്ഞു, അച്ചു നിന്റെ ആൾക്കാരുടെ സിനിമ ഇറങ്ങീട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ. സൗണ്ട് തോമ. ഇതും പറഞ്ഞ എന്റെ അച്ഛൻ അതിലെ ദിലീപ് പാടുന്നപോലെ അനുകരിച്ചു ചിരിച്ചു. അന്നേരം ഇതൊക്കെ കേട്ട് നിന്ന അച്ചു മേമ ഒന്നും മിണ്ടാതെ നിൽക്കുമ്പോ,10വയസ്സായ എന്റെ ചേച്ചിയുടെ മകൻ പറഞ്ഞു, അമ്മച്ചാ it's too bad to hurt someone. പിന്നെ ഒരിക്കലും എന്റെ അച്ഛൻ അത്തരം തമാശകൾ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല.

ഓരോ സിനിമയും ആ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ എന്റെർറ്റൈൻ ചെയ്യിപ്പിക്കാനായി ചെയ്യുന്ന സിനിമകൾ ആണ്. പണ്ട് ഏതു കണ്ടു ചിരിച്ചതിനു കണക്കുണ്ടാകില്ല. എന്നാൽ പിന്നീട് കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ വരുന്ന മാറ്റത്തിൽ അത് തെറ്റയി തോന്നാം. കുറച്ചു ദിവസം മുൻപ് ഇറങ്ങിയ "ഹോം" എന്ന ഇന്ദ്രൻസ് ചിത്രത്തിൽ പോലും അങ്ങനെ ചില രംഗങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്.ആർകെങ്കിലും അതെന്താണ് എന്ന് പറയാമോ ? ഇല്ല. അത് നമ്മൾ കണ്ടു ചിരിച്ചു രസിച്ചിട്ടേയുള്ളു. ഹോം എന്ന സിനിമയിൽ ജോണി ആന്റണി "Hypochondriasis" എന്ന രോഗമുള്ള ഒരാളായാണ് അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. എനിക്കും ആ രോഗം ഉണ്ട്. എന്ന് വെച്ച് അവരെ എല്ലാം കോമഡി ആക്കി എന്നാണോ? ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്തു നമ്മൾ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അത് അവരെ എല്ലാം കളിയാക്കിയ പോലെ അല്ല തോന്നിയത്. അത് ആ അവസ്ഥയിൽ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന ചില കോമഡി മാത്രം ആണ്.പക്ഷെ പത്തു വര്ഷം കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അതും കുത്തി പൊക്കി ആൾക്കാർ വരും "Hypochondriasis" കളിയാക്കി എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. പൊളിറ്റിക്കലി കറക്റ്റ് ആയി കോമഡി ചെയ്യുന്ന ആളാണ് "ശ്രീകാന്ത് വെട്ടിയാർ . ഒരാളെ പോലും നിറം എബിലിറ്റി മുതലായവ വെച്ച് കളിയാക്കുന്നില്ല. പക്ഷെ ശ്രീകാന്ത് പോലും ചെയ്യുന്നത് പലരുടെയും സൃഷ്ടികളെ കളിയാക്കുക എന്നുള്ളതാണ്. എന്തെങ്കിലും അബ്നോര്മല് ആയി കാണിക്കുന്നതാണ് കോമഡി എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് തന്നെ. ഏതു കോമഡി എടുത്തു ചിന്തിച്ചു നോക്കിയാലും മതി. ജയസൂര്യയെ ആട് എന്ന സിനിമയിൽ കാണിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഉമ്മറത്തി തിരിയായി കത്തിച്ചു വെക്കാം എന്ന കോമഡി കെട്ടി ചിരിക്കാത്തവർ ഉണ്ടാകില്ല. അതിലൊന്നും ഒരുപാടു ചികയണ്ട കാര്യമില്ല എന്നാണ് എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നത്. ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്തു നമ്മൾ ശെരി എന്ന് വിചാരിക്കുന്നത് പലതും നാളെ തെറ്റാകാം. അതുകൊണ്ടു കൂടുതൽ മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ജഡ്ജ് ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുന്നതാണ് നല്ലതെന്നാണ് എനിക്ക് പറയാനുള്ളത്.

@@ronipthomas1 ഇന്ന് ശെരിയെന്നു വിചാരിക്കുന്ന തെറ്റുകൾ തിരുത്താൻ നാളെ വരെ wait ചെയ്യണം എന്നുണ്ടോ.? . അതിനുള്ള ചിന്തശേഷിുള്ളവർക് തെറ്റായി തോന്നിയാൽ തുറന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തിരുത്താൻ ശ്രേമിക്കണം. താങ്കൾക്ക് ആ അവസ്ഥ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അത് തെറ്റാണ് എന്നു തന്നെ മറ്റുള്ളവരോട് പറയണം. അല്ലാതെ ഇന്ന് എല്ലാരും ആ സിനിമ കണ്ടു ചിരിച്ചതിനാൽ അതു ഈ കാലഘട്ടത്തിന്റെ ശെരിയാവുന്നില്ല. അതു തെറ്റു തന്നെ ആണ്. പണ്ട് കാഴ്ചപാടുകൾക്ക് നിലവാരമില്ലതെ എഴുതിയ കോമഡിയും scriptum ഒക്കെ majority common man അപ്പാടെ സ്വീകരിച്ചു ആഘോഷിച്ചു. അന്നും അതു തെറ്റായി തോന്നിയർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നിരിക്കാം.. പക്ഷെ പണ്ട് social media ഇല്ലാതതു കൊണ്ട് ഉയർന്ന ചിന്തകൾ എല്ലാരിലും പെട്ടന് എത്തിയില്ല... അതുകൊണ്ട് അന്നത്തെ majority generation ആ തെറ്റുകൾ ഫോള്ളോ് ചെയ്തു ഒരുപാട് പേരെ വിഷമിപ്പിച്ചു. അതും വീണ്ടും റിപീറ്റ് ചെയേണ്ട ഒരു ആവിശ്യവും ഇല്ല.. എത് കാലഘട്ടം ആയാലും!

Actually ഇതിൽ പറഞ്ഞ പല "comedies"ഉം അന്ന് ആസ്വദിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ അത് disabled ആയ ആളുകളെ എത്രമാത്രം negative ആയി affect ചെയ്യും എന്നത് ചെറുതായെങ്കിലും മനസ്സിലായി. Thanks Gaya3 chechi.....

I too had a diary and was afraid that someone would see it and made codes to write it. But when I used to look back even I couldn't read it😒 I'm known for bad handwriting and I write in as micro letters as possible. It's not fool proof but trying to read even a para would give people a headache 😏

"സത്യം ശിവൻ സുന്ദരം" എന്ന സിനിമയിൽ കാഴ്ച പരിമിതരായ രണ്ടുപേരെ (കൊച്ചിൻ ഹനീഫ,ഹരിശ്രീ അശോകൻ)വളരെ വികൃതമായാണ് ചിത്രീകരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്.കാഴ്ചശക്തി ഇല്ലാത്ത മനുഷ്യന് ഇത്ര വിവരമുണ്ടാകില്ലേ യെന്നുതോന്നിപോകും.ഒരു മലയാള സിനിമയിൽ കാഴ്ച പരിമിതിയുള്ളയാൾ ബാത്രൂമാണെന്നുകരുത്തി റെഫ്രിജറേറ്റർ തുറന്ന് മൂത്രമൊഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതിനെ ഹാസ്യമാക്കി ചിത്രീകരിക്കുമ്പോൾ യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ ഈ അവസ്ഥയിലുള്ള ഒരാൾ ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുമോ എന്ന് ചിന്തിക്കണം

ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള തമാശകൾ കണ്ടിട്ട് ചിരിക്കാതിരുന്ന എന്നോട് എനിക്ക് അഭിമാനം തോന്നുന്നു 😊

എനിക്കും ഇതൊക്കെ കാണുമ്പോൾ വിഷമം തോന്നാറുണ്ട്. Because i am also a disabled girl. ജനിച്ചടത് മുതൽ ഈ നിമിഷം വരെ ഞാൻ അനുഭവിക്കാത്ത അപമാനം ചുരുക്കമാണ്. ആദ്യം ജനിച്ചപ്പോൾ മുതൽ ഇത് വരെ മിക്ക ബന്ധുക്കളും തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കിയില്ല. ആദ്യം ചേർക്കാൻ ചെന്ന സ്കൂളിൽ അവർ എന്നെപ്പോലൊന്നിനെ പഠിപ്പിക്കാൻ താല്പര്യം ഇല്ലന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. But, now ഞാൻ പഠിക്കുന്ന സ്കൂളിൽ തന്നെ topper student ആയി. പുറത്തോട്ടൊക്കെ ഇറങ്ങുമ്പോൾ ആളുകളൊക്കെ എന്തോ ഭീകര ജീവിയെ കണ്ടപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു നോക്കുന്നത്. ആരുപാടു പേരൊക്കെ പണ്ട് മാറി നിന്ന് കളിയാക്കി ചിരിക്കുമായിരുന്നു. ഇടയ്യ്ക്കിടയ്ക്കുള്ള over സഹതാപത്തിൽ ഉള്ള കുത്തലും. "നിന്റെ ജീവിതം ഇങ്ങനെയായി പോയി ഒതുങ്ങി കൂടാൻ നോക്ക്..." "നീ ഇങ്ങനെ ആയത് കൊണ്ട നിന്നെ ആരും പ്രേമിക്കാതെ...." ഓരോന്നൊക്കെ കേട്ടാൽ... മോഖത്തു ഒരു ഇടി കൊടുക്കാൻ തോന്നും. എന്നെ എന്റെ അച്ഛനും അമ്മയുo വളർത്തിയത് ഒരു സാധാരണ girl ആയാണ്. അതു കൊണ്ട് എനിക്കും ഒരു സാധാരണ പെൺകുട്ടിയുടെ സകല സ്വഭാവവും ഉണ്ട്. കളിയാക്കുന്നവരെക്കാളും സപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരുപാട് ആൾക്കാറുണ്ട്... ഒരു കാര്യം എല്ലാവരോടും പറയണമെന്നുണ്ട്. നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുത്തൊക്കെ എന്നെപോലെ ഉള്ള girls ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ please.... ഒരിക്കലും disabled എന്ന രീതിയിൽ അവരെ കാണുകയോ സംസാരിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യരുത്... അതിപ്പോ കളിയാക്കാനായാലും, സഹതപിക്കാൻ ആയാലും, സംസാരിക്കാൻ ആയാലും... എന്നെ പോലെയുള്ള ആൽക്കാരാണെങ്കിൽ... പ്ലീസ് നിങ്ങൾ സ്വയം ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുക. Disabled എന്ന ഐഡന്റിറ്റിയിൽ ഒതുങ്ങാതെ പുറത്ത് വരുക ലൈക്‌ me... ലൈഫിന് limit വക്കാതിരിക്കുക... കളിയാക്കുന്നവരോട് ഒരൊറ്റ attitude മതി -'Savage ' And now my dream is - IAS

പണ്ട് കാലത്തെ സിനികളെ കുറിച്ചു പറയാതിരിക്കുന്നതാണ് ഭേദം.. Disability yum ബോഡി ഷെമിങ്, slut ഷെമിങ് എന്നിവ കൊണ്ട് നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു. പല സിനിമകളുടെയും അവസ്ഥ ഇതു തന്നെ. അത് ആ കാലം ആണെന്നെങ്കിലും സമാധാനിക്കാം. ഇപ്പോഴും ഇത്തരം സംഭവങ്ങൾ ഒക്കെ തമാശ ആയി ചിലർ കാണുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതാണ് സത്യം. ഇപ്പോൾ പല ആളുകൾ പറയുന്നത് കേൾക്കാം, "പണ്ടൊക്കെ ആയിരുന്നു കാലം അന്നൊക്കെ എന്തൊരു ഒത്തൊരുമയും സ്നേഹവും ആയിരുന്നു എന്നൊക്കെ " ശെരിക്കും ആ പഴയ കാലത്തെ ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ഇത്രയും പ്രോഗ്രെസ്സീവ് ആയി ചിന്തിക്കുന്ന ആളുകൾ കുറവായിരുന്നു. പഴയ സിനിമകളിലെ ചില glorifications തന്നെ ഇതിന്റെ മികച്ച ഉദാഹരണങ്ങൾ ആണല്ലോ 👍

ഓരോ സിനിമയും ആ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ എന്റെർറ്റൈൻ ചെയ്യിപ്പിക്കാനായി ചെയ്യുന്ന സിനിമകൾ ആണ്. പണ്ട് ഏതു കണ്ടു ചിരിച്ചതിനു കണക്കുണ്ടാകില്ല. എന്നാൽ പിന്നീട് കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ വരുന്ന മാറ്റത്തിൽ അത് തെറ്റയി തോന്നാം. കുറച്ചു ദിവസം മുൻപ് ഇറങ്ങിയ "ഹോം" എന്ന ഇന്ദ്രൻസ് ചിത്രത്തിൽ പോലും അങ്ങനെ ചില രംഗങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്.ആർകെങ്കിലും അതെന്താണ് എന്ന് പറയാമോ ? ഇല്ല. അത് നമ്മൾ കണ്ടു ചിരിച്ചു രസിച്ചിട്ടേയുള്ളു. ഹോം എന്ന സിനിമയിൽ ജോണി ആന്റണി "Hypochondriasis" എന്ന രോഗമുള്ള ഒരാളായാണ് അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. എനിക്കും ആ രോഗം ഉണ്ട്. എന്ന് വെച്ച് അവരെ എല്ലാം കോമഡി ആക്കി എന്നാണോ? ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്തു നമ്മൾ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അത് അവരെ എല്ലാം കളിയാക്കിയ പോലെ അല്ല തോന്നിയത്. അത് ആ അവസ്ഥയിൽ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന ചില കോമഡി മാത്രം ആണ്.പക്ഷെ പത്തു വര്ഷം കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അതും കുത്തി പൊക്കി ആൾക്കാർ വരും "Hypochondriasis" കളിയാക്കി എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. പൊളിറ്റിക്കലി കറക്റ്റ് ആയി കോമഡി ചെയ്യുന്ന ആളാണ് "ശ്രീകാന്ത് വെട്ടിയാർ . ഒരാളെ പോലും നിറം എബിലിറ്റി മുതലായവ വെച്ച് കളിയാക്കുന്നില്ല. പക്ഷെ ശ്രീകാന്ത് പോലും ചെയ്യുന്നത് പലരുടെയും സൃഷ്ടികളെ കളിയാക്കുക എന്നുള്ളതാണ്. എന്തെങ്കിലും അബ്നോര്മല് ആയി കാണിക്കുന്നതാണ് കോമഡി എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് തന്നെ. ഏതു കോമഡി എടുത്തു ചിന്തിച്ചു നോക്കിയാലും മതി. ജയസൂര്യയെ ആട് എന്ന സിനിമയിൽ കാണിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഉമ്മറത്തി തിരിയായി കത്തിച്ചു വെക്കാം എന്ന കോമഡി കെട്ടി ചിരിക്കാത്തവർ ഉണ്ടാകില്ല. അതിലൊന്നും ഒരുപാടു ചികയണ്ട കാര്യമില്ല എന്നാണ് എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നത്. ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്തു നമ്മൾ ശെരി എന്ന് വിചാരിക്കുന്നത് പലതും നാളെ തെറ്റാകാം. അതുകൊണ്ടു കൂടുതൽ മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ജഡ്ജ് ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുന്നതാണ് നല്ലതെന്നാണ് എനിക്ക് പറയാനുള്ളത്.

വിവാഹം കഴിക്കാത്ത പെൺകുട്ടികൾക്ക് uterus related ആയ എന്തെങ്കിലും issue ഉണ്ടായാൽ ഒരു ഗൈനക്കോളജിസ്റ് നെ consult ചെയ്യാൻ എല്ലാവർക്കും മടിയാണ്, പ്രേത്യേകിച്ചു അമ്മമാർ ഒട്ടും സമ്മതിക്കില്ല, ഇത്‌ ഒരു വലിയ issue ആയി എനിക്ക് തോന്നിയിട്ടുണ്ട് കാരണം എന്തെങ്കിലും സീരിയസ് issue ആ കുട്ടിക്ക് ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലോ, ഇങ്ങനെ struggle ചെയ്യുന്ന കുട്ടികളെ ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. പിന്നെ psychatrist ന്റെ കാര്യം പറയണ്ട ഇതേ അവസ്ഥ തന്നെ ആണ് clinical psychologist, ഇവരെ ഒക്കെ consult ചെയ്യുന്നത് വലിയ ഒരു prblm ആണ് പലർക്കും. വിവാഹം കഴിഞ്ഞു കുറച്ചു നാളുകൾക്കു ശേഷം കുഞ്ഞ് ഉണ്ടായാൽ അതിനെപ്പറ്റി weird ആയി സംസാരിക്കുക, കുട്ടികൾ ഇല്ലാത്ത കാരണത്താൽ doctor നെ consult ചെയ്യുന്ന ദമ്പതികളെ കളിയാക്കുക ഇതൊക്കെ കുറേ ആളുകളുടെ വിനോദം ആണ്. ഈ doctors നെ കാണുന്നതിൽ പോലും ഇതുപോലെ ഒക്കെ chindikkunnavarkku dedicate ചെയ്ത് ഒരു വീഡിയോ ചെയ്താൽ നന്നായിരിക്കും എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു.

A mild hearing impaired person here. ഞാൻ complete deaf അല്ല. എങ്കിലും എനിക്ക് high frequency ശബ്ദങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കാൻ പാടാണ്. അത്കൊണ്ട് പലർക്കും എന്നെ കോമാളി ആക്കാൻ ഇഷ്ടം ആണ്. ലേഡീസ് ഇന്റെ വോയ്സ് ആ rangeil വരുന്നോൻഡ് എനിക്ക് മിക്കവാറും ബുദ്ധിമുട്ട് ഉണ്ടാവാറുണ്ട്. അതിന് അവർ എന്റെ ബാക്കിൽ നിന്ന് വിളിച്ചു വിളിച്ചു ചിരിക്കുക common ആണ്. ചെറുതായി വിഷമം വരുമെങ്കിലും മൈൻഡ് ആക്കാറില്ല. 40% disabilty ഇല്ലാത്തൊണ്ടു ആനുകൂല്യങ്ങൾ ഒന്നും കിട്ടിട്ടില്ല. ഇന്റർവിയൂ അറ്റൻഡ് ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ ആർന്നു ബുദ്ധിമുട്ട് ശെരിക്കും അറിഞ്ഞത്. Especially ladies ആവുമ്പോൾ സോഫ്ട് ആയിട്ടാണ് സംസാരിക്ക. കൊറച്ചു ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടി ആണേലും i landed a job recently. Thankyou gayu for this. Was waiting for ur video.😁😁

@@gaya3 1 yr hearing aid യൂസ് ചെയ്ത് തുടങ്ങി. പക്ഷെ ഒരു electronic device ഇന് അതിന്റെതായ പരിധി ഉണ്ട്. I am ok of without it. If it's there, i can listen to the sounds i wasn't able to otherwise but at the cost of some annoying noise due to frequency-gain trade off😅. Btw, i think differentially able d is much more nice to here than disabled😁😁

@@Lilygirl6085 nobody loves to hear themselves getting called disabled. Differentially abled is much more preferable. Disabled sounds like that person cannot do anything. Differentially abled sounds like a person does what everybody does but in a different way. Personally for me, I majorly depend on lip movement of the person talking to me in person.

I remember the day when I wrote comedy skit for a competition at TCS, many of my team members suggesed insult humour & body shaming jokes, but I strongly disagreed and said to them even if we don't win a prize, I won't do such things and I can still generate good jokes and guess what we won the prize and it was a laughter riot even the HR team🥰 certain name calling words are so normalised that these ppl won't even realise that they are hurting others, even though kerala has 💯 literacy rate, these things are not taken in to consideration 🤦

ഓരോ സിനിമയും ആ കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ എന്റെർറ്റൈൻ ചെയ്യിപ്പിക്കാനായി ചെയ്യുന്ന സിനിമകൾ ആണ്. പണ്ട് ഏതു കണ്ടു ചിരിച്ചതിനു കണക്കുണ്ടാകില്ല. എന്നാൽ പിന്നീട് കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ വരുന്ന മാറ്റത്തിൽ അത് തെറ്റയി തോന്നാം. കുറച്ചു ദിവസം മുൻപ് ഇറങ്ങിയ "ഹോം" എന്ന ഇന്ദ്രൻസ് ചിത്രത്തിൽ പോലും അങ്ങനെ ചില രംഗങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്.ആർകെങ്കിലും അതെന്താണ് എന്ന് പറയാമോ ? ഇല്ല. അത് നമ്മൾ കണ്ടു ചിരിച്ചു രസിച്ചിട്ടേയുള്ളു. ഹോം എന്ന സിനിമയിൽ ജോണി ആന്റണി "Hypochondriasis" എന്ന രോഗമുള്ള ഒരാളായാണ് അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. എനിക്കും ആ രോഗം ഉണ്ട്. എന്ന് വെച്ച് അവരെ എല്ലാം കോമഡി ആക്കി എന്നാണോ? ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്തു നമ്മൾ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അത് അവരെ എല്ലാം കളിയാക്കിയ പോലെ അല്ല തോന്നിയത്. അത് ആ അവസ്ഥയിൽ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന ചില കോമഡി മാത്രം ആണ്.പക്ഷെ പത്തു വര്ഷം കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അതും കുത്തി പൊക്കി ആൾക്കാർ വരും "Hypochondriasis" കളിയാക്കി എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. പൊളിറ്റിക്കലി കറക്റ്റ് ആയി കോമഡി ചെയ്യുന്ന ആളാണ് "ശ്രീകാന്ത് വെട്ടിയാർ . ഒരാളെ പോലും നിറം എബിലിറ്റി മുതലായവ വെച്ച് കളിയാക്കുന്നില്ല. പക്ഷെ ശ്രീകാന്ത് പോലും ചെയ്യുന്നത് പലരുടെയും സൃഷ്ടികളെ കളിയാക്കുക എന്നുള്ളതാണ്. എന്തെങ്കിലും അബ്നോര്മല് ആയി കാണിക്കുന്നതാണ് കോമഡി എന്ന് പറയുന്നത് തന്നെ. ഏതു കോമഡി എടുത്തു ചിന്തിച്ചു നോക്കിയാലും മതി. ജയസൂര്യയെ ആട് എന്ന സിനിമയിൽ കാണിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഉമ്മറത്തി തിരിയായി കത്തിച്ചു വെക്കാം എന്ന കോമഡി കെട്ടി ചിരിക്കാത്തവർ ഉണ്ടാകില്ല. അതിലൊന്നും ഒരുപാടു ചികയണ്ട കാര്യമില്ല എന്നാണ് എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നത്. ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്തു നമ്മൾ ശെരി എന്ന് വിചാരിക്കുന്നത് പലതും നാളെ തെറ്റാകാം. അതുകൊണ്ടു കൂടുതൽ മറ്റുള്ളവരെ ജഡ്ജ് ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കുന്നതാണ് നല്ലതെന്നാണ് എനിക്ക് പറയാനുള്ളത്.

What you are saying is partially correct. Person first terminology such as 'people with disability', people who are blind etc, should be used instead of disabled, differently abled or specially abled.

Nope, myself being a disabled person, i consider it as my identity, there is nothing politically incorrect in it, what we need is inclusion and accessibility, so i think it's better to embrace our identity 👍

Our Paralympic athletes have brought up revolution just reacently. Many differently abled persons are living a dignified life, just like the person you are shown in this video. I am a visually challenged person. So very happy to be a part of this larger movement of political correctness. I would like to say that differently abled people are different in their own unique ways. In fact all of us are unique. Let's support each other as we are all human beings with our own problems.. we can't take anything for granted, the pandemic we are going through itself is the best example.

We all were uninformed when we were younger. We followed what we thought is right, because we were told so. Let's change that, i am not letting my son be ignorant towards anything that might hurt another living creature. I am a disabled individual and I was waiting for this for so long. Well explained. Kudos 🎉 I have something to add. Ableism in movies include playing disabled characters by non- disabled actors. Some ppl would say "That's why it's called acting" but that's wrong. It's like female characters or trans-women characters being played by male actors. It's like white actors playing black or brown characters. I am against Bangalore Days for casting a non- disabled actor like Parvathy as RJ Sarah. Also, portraying misogyny and patriarchal behaviour as "mental illness" in "Kumbalangi Nights" is wrong too. What I wanted to say is Malayalam Cinema is still a long way behind to be fully intersectional.

Actors will have to portray different kinds of people on screen, so I don’t see it as an issue that Parvathy played the role in Banglore days. But what you mentioned about Kumbalangi is simply the the reason I have been searching and never got, as to why is “Psycho Shammi” is often a joke or an adjective these days, used to belittle people.. As a result mental health awareness has become a joke and words like Psycho are overused, and real illnesses are overlooked.

@@meenu5920 my issue with Kumbalangi Nights is as i said portraying toxic behavior as "mental illness". Why can't they just call it toxic instead of saying "അവനു വട്ടാ". That "അവനു വട്ടാ " dialog evokes laughter in many and that's exactly the problem. The director and writer are responsible for it. And, i can understand why u can't agree on the other point. But i repeat, as i said in d main cmnt, we can't just brush it off by saying "that's what acting is". What i am saying is, if a character is disabled then the actor playing them should be disabled too. Disability is an identity just like gender identity and racial identity. That will make d film genuine.

@@AJK994 again i disagree brother.. bcoz It’s an art. It’s like a writing a book. You can’t always get a real story to write. These are creative professions, and they are called Actors because they Act like someone or something that They are not, as well. We can’t demand we get an actual Cricketer to act in a movie like MS Dhoni or Sachin. Sushant, the actor who portrayed Dhoni practiced to look like he has the skills of Dhoni, for the movie. Actress Parvathy is well appreciated for the role because she too did well the emotions that character goes through, as well as the profession the role is into.

@@AJK994 according to what you say, I believe you would also have a view that a physically challenged person who is an actor by profession, should not ever portray a character which doesn’t have any physical challenges? Even if the movie demands that the character has only one or two scenes that needs only face to be revealed?? That would only mean you are Limiting an actor’s career to play only what he/she is born as! Practically NOT what Acting is all about!
