As always great video, and great work. Others have mentioned you're pricing, all I'll say is trade customers will drop you like a sack of spuds if they think you're too expensive. It's a bit of a balancing act between keeping trade customers happy and earning what you're worth. Anyhow...glad to see you've discovered PERL & Aero 303. I've been using both a number of years. 303 on engine bays leaves a nice finish, although not as cost effective as PERL, which you can dilute. 303 also offers good UV protection so great for finishing off headlights that have been wetsanded for example. Have yet to use KC H9. How does it compare to H8. Keep up the great work, and the videos. All the best Dave. 👍👍

Have you tried using ready mask instead of using loads of masking tape? You’ve probably seen it before. But incase you haven’t! It’s a roll of thin plastic sheet that is electrostatic charge so it clings to the job. It has a line of 3/4 inch masking tape attached to 1 side. And when you pull a length off the dispenser you then detach it using the built in cutting strip on the dispenser. Iafter stitching it you then unfold the plastic to 4 times it’s width! You buy the dispenser and roll of plastic sheet together then you just buy the roll when needed. It comes in 4 inch that opens upto 16 inch. And 10 inches that opens up to 4 foot!! It’s ideal for the wheels, body, brakes etc. And is less labour intensive, and more cost effective! I’ve used it for years for domestic, commercial, and automotive painting! Hope this helps bud!! Love your format and commentary. It’s a winning formula!!

Yes, CarPro Pearl is a great product to use it in the motor but if you use the same 303 Protectant you already have inside the motor, it will give you same results. I normally just use soapy water like Dawn and agitate all surfaces with it, then wash it off, then dry it a leave blower or compressed air, then apply the 303 so save $$ ££ €€ on APC.😉 By the way, AM Details has a great clay bar that only needs water as lube, so also allows you to save on lube. Sometimes by just using iron fallout remover named Korrosol from Bilt and Hamber and/or CarPro Trix does such an excellent job that allows you to save time on claying the vehicle. Great product Collonite as well as Fusso coat for black vehicles. It's impressive how you restore those calipers and wheels. I will try what you do since never tried it or done it 🤔😃 Thanks for your review and teachings. Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍👍👍🇵🇷

Interesting that you use the yellow pads, chemical guys say it's their most aggressive compounding pad and needs to be followed up with a softer polishing pad. What do you think of it? Is it aggressive enough to take out wet sanding marks? Also where are you based? Do you take one off customers like at the weekend or something?
@everydaydetailing6449
4 жыл бұрын
Hi if you compare a brand new yellow hex pad to a rupes blue cutting pad, the difference is really noticeable! The rupes is way more aggressive. Yes if you are doing a more involved job you would follow up with a softer pad 👍 but I clean cheaper cars with different customer requirements. With the right compound it will take 1500 sanding marks out! I Already have a set client base 😎 to busy to take on more sadly.

Hi, great video's! What cutting compound did you use?
@SDav214 жыл бұрын
Very nice. It cleaned up really nicely. I think it is also in part to it being a VW from that era because they were very well made and high quality. I always wonder about the diamond finish wheels. Are there repairers that can actually get that finish back? When I bought my car, before I took delivery there were some light scuff marks on one rim. The dealership repaired it but it looks only like paint and not like that lathed diamond cut finish of the rest. Also it is only on a small part of it but it is there and I can see it.
@owensteele1274
4 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but I think the only thing you can do would be to google any dedicated alloy repairers in your area, choose one, then take the car to them to see what they are dealing with. There are thousands more cars on the road with diamond alloys now, so repairers will be seeing them more frequently and should repair your wheels no problem if just minor scuffs.
@everydaydetailing6449

They can be re “skimmed” a couple of times depending on the damage! But if they are to bad it’s one colour or replace 😊it’s nothing I can get involved in ... that would be out sourced to another company.

@everydaydetailing6449

@owensteele1274

Something doesn’t add up here? Outstanding range of high end tools and specialist equipment, battery operated multiple da polishers, 3m breathing system, ramp, etc High quality materials Polite, well spoken man presumably SE England? A small workshop must cost £125 a week to run including electric. And you charge £300 for two days labour?

Hi R A I have been cleaning for the trade for over 20 years and you just build up tools over a period of Time 😊 I tend to buy the latest equipment at trade prices .. then after a year sell them on for only a small loss, it’s a great way to keep up with the latest kit. I am in the south east 👍can’t lose the accent 😆 This can be all done in 10/12 (1.5 days) with planning if I start after lunch, do the wheel before I go home, then they are dry for the morning 😀 Unit is off the beaten track so cost effective, dealing with trade only it doesn’t need to look impressive. I work 6 sometimes 7 days to make it all work! Being open and transparent hopefully KZread will bring in a extra income 👍 plus it’s fun to do and help others learn or be entertained 😎

Smart repair alloys £150 a set, a full refurb sent away and stripped £250, diamond cut is expensive even to trade circa £85 per wheel. Guys who are in mobile vans can do 3 sets a day on site (smart repair) £450 a day less materials £400 not a bad days work/earn?

How are you profitable for 300£ for all of that.... like wow... one question you get no hazing just by doing 1 step polish with the Koch H9 and yellow flex pad?

I get asked this a lot 👍 but as numerous videos show the combo works well for me 😎 if the pad was a lot more aggressive like a rupes blue pad, then there may be issues. Can more gloss be obtained though more stages .. absolutely but at this price point, it good enough 😎

Great job on that. It did look like you didn't clean the barrels of the wheels...is that just an illusion? It made me cringe a bit when you did the rims if you hadn't done the barrels. So many times I've cleaned cars with dirt sealed under the clear.

They got a scrub, but being honest and transparent they were very weathered/pitted/ flaky and the customers set a budget! As stated in the video (you are right) the best way was for these to be sent Away and fully stripped, the customer chose for the face only to be resprayed 👍

No, I did a set of my own wheels about 10 year ago by spray cans and enjoyed it, after seeing people do “smart repairs” in the trade, I picked up a spray gun about 3 years ago! Had some advice and help from a car Pinter/watched KZread videos, practiced on old “spare wheels” until I could do a ok job 😊 then offered it as a service! Learnt a lot from the Aussie guy on KZread “the gun man” painter in Australia.
