​@@Yohnie125 I currently still have the 06' 500 Outlaw. I bought it new. Absolutely no issues with it. Fantastic trail quad! I just put it up for sale as I am getting older and now have other interests. I will definitely miss this fun machine.

IMO I think this bike is way better than a 700R. I can almost run neck and neck with my brothers Raptor which shows not much less of a power difference, but I can go just about anywhere on mine. After a couple trips on the trails and a few to the dunes, he's telling me he's going to trade his bike in. He also envies the way my bike sits, low and wide stance for more stability but I still have a foot in ground clearance. I have to thank him though, he's actually the one who recommended it.

I have to agree I love the design of this quad, but the raptor 700s build quality is just better, the engine in the raptor is more reliable then the ktm 525 also. The bug eyed outlaw version had terrible plastics compared to the raptor, they always broke very easily, this model in the video had alot better plastics. I'd own both for sure though as I just LOVE sport quads. Wish all the original companies were still making them.

Miss this machine so much such a mountain trail quad black dirt never stood a chance

if you guys think this ATV is great well it is ! My friend owns a Polaris Shop and I try almost every machine that goes in there ! I loved the Outlaw 450 but I prefered the Outlaw 525 for it's got my type of riding written all over it ! And reverse can save your ass when trail riding ! I would easily compare this ATV to the Yamaha Raptor 700R. The only thing missing though is EFI which can be handy on higher altitudes. On 10 I give this ATV an 8 !

Polaris sport quads are a joke. Do not. I repeat do not buy these things. Off the showroom they are nice. Until you hit a few bumps and your exhaist rattles off. These bikes literally fall apart. Ask yourself why 10 years later they quit producing sport quads?

GOPRO MX my father has one it's an 06' black colored one he got it in 2011 and it's lasted ever sense my father has never had a problem with it ever!

damn nice quads. I have an 06 outlaw. Its a shame polaris did away with the look of the original outlaw, its what made it so awesome!

I cant figure out which atv I want to buy. Im drawing btw the raptor 700r, Honda trx700xx, and now this polaris outlaw 525. I want it for sport riding in the VA woods on my local hunting tracks. Fire roads, open trails, and tight trails. The tracks have a lot of mudd holes and didnt want something that would get suck cuz of low ground clearance. I love the powerhouse of a 700. What model bike did he said that had to tight of sway bars made the bike pretty and straight axle? What do you think is best for me guys?

The Raptors motor feels like it has more bite than the xx. But the xx has the far superior off road suspension.

Owned the Outlaw & Raptor, I highly recommend the Outlaw 525! Both are great ATV's and you won't go wrong with either but as for the Honda it's not even in the same ballpark as these 2!

When is the last year the Outlaw 525 IRS was built or produced?

Change the shocks on the 700xx and it’s worlds better. I’ve had numerous bikes including two 700’s a 2013 and 2007 and neither hold a candle to my 700xx as far as comfort.

Tracy Wagers depends on how used to the clutch you are and how much you ride really,if you aren’t used to the clutch and kill it a lot then you’ll have to switch it out sooner but it can last awhile even if you don’t have much experience with a clutch quad

UZI mxrtyr I use the cluch the bike works good on the flat areas but it just revs up when I try to go up a hill

Tracy Wagers as in it doesn’t catch gears when going up a hill? Cuz if that’s a case you’ll need to replace the clutch then but if you mean rev as in you’re giving it lots of gas then yeah you’re riding it the right way cuz you should only climb hills in 1st to 2nd gear

I personally ride the arctic cat dvx 400 cuz it suits me a lil better for my riding style so I wouldn’t know much about the predator however if it doesn’t catch gears like I mentioned then your clutch needs replaced

UZI mxrtyr when I try to ride it up a hill in 2nd gear it just revs up and creeps toward the hill but if I am on the flats with it it does good but trying to go up hill it just revs up and won’t take off fast at all

I just bought an 09 for $2,400! Needed the carbs cleaned and a new fuel petcock, but after I did that she runs absolutely perfect! Got it for an absolute steal. The guy didn’t have it listed, it was sold from a friend of a friend.

@@ChristopherGuilday lucky you!!! Fast forward a year and I’m still looking for one. I’ve only seen like 5 of them pop up. Cheapest one was $3500 but needed work and was 4 hours away. the 09+ irs models are super hard to find. ktm’s (only like 4,000 of them in the US) pop up more often than the 09+ irs. That’s how rare they are.

dont these have bad cornering since its irs?

I want one of these....but I'm not sure I want an IRS....I want to powerslide.

I own an 09 outlaw 450 mxr. It has the ktm engine which is really very powerful. the Nike is extremely light so much so the plastics feel kinda cheap BUT don't let that make you think any less of this quad. I have a solid rear axle as the independent rear suspension was not an option for the 450. The make a big bore kit for the 525 model, and since the 450 and the 525 both share the same bottom end, of you put the big bore kit on the 450, then you ultimately and up with something around a 550 engine with a solid axle. The amazing suspension, crazy insane and precision power you get out of a big bore kit placed on a 450, id say you get one really nice machine that isn't easily duplicated.

I own both the Honda 700xx and the outlaw525irs.the 700xx is too heavy for the track but is the ultimate fastwoods quad.unless your in deep mud its better then most super heavy 4/4s.only if your jumping all day will you crave the lighter outlaw.is the it worth the pesky valve bullshit and more oil changing?hell no I want to ride!.Follow the Leader...he's on a Honda...if you can.!

no it's a ktm motor not a can-am or rotax. Polaris purchased a portion of ktm motorcylces in 2005 and decided to use ktm's 525 and 450 motors in the outlaws starting in the 2007 models.

The outlaw is a great idea but doesn't have the durability of the 700xx. The outlaws sway design is terrible and the sway bars are hollow. The sway bar breaks easily. It would nice if my Honda was as light as the outlaw but tits a lot stronger. 2 years of abuse on the XX and no problems what so ever.
