DIRT CHEAP 68' DREAM Pirate Ship [Full Tour] Learning the Lines
Originally built a little over ten years ago, the previous owner of this massive custom sailboat spent over a million dollars on the build. Unfortunately, he passed away before he could sail the boat, and the current owner purchased it from the estate. It's currently for sale now for a dirt cheap price when you compare it to the million dollars that it cost to build it. This boat hasn't been sailed and a lot of systems haven't even been used. The engine only has 50 hours on it.

Definitely a bluewater cruiser. The way that the sleeping quarters are laid out, the captain can get to the helm quickly if needed. A sure sign of a boat designed to be underway more than having her lines secured to dock cleats, for entertaining overnight guests.
Very rarely do we see a real, no-nonsense world's ocean going sailboat, purposefully thought-out and built for it's human masters...On the ocean you don't want large spaces to bang around, you want narrrow passages, high body-guards and railings, handholds where they should be (everywhere), bunks near the command center where you might be needed quickly etc etc...the designer and owner obviously have tons of marine-life experience and designed first for function, not fashion. That ship is a gem. When i will have the cash, I will look for it.

Oh yes kids, take Dave up on his offer to take it for a sail! That would make for a great posting for all of us to enjoy, plus it may get him a buyer! Absolutely beautiful sailing yacht with all the comforts of a live aboard! That rear berth would be perfect for a captain.
Beautiful boat! With a full size chart table, thought of for sailing in safety and confort.
Love the channel! These two youthful and respectful commentators are filled with great enthusiasm that they share; and they obviously love sailing and boats. This stunning boat incorporates many critical life saving features suggested by many experienced blue water sailors and by many respected, published nautical authors. I enjoy your large boat reviews and insights. Keep it up please.
Looks like a fantastic boat, don’t know if I could live with the fact that near 15 foot of the marina charge was going into bow sprit and davits
Thanks again for the boat tours! Please take it out for a sail! 👍👍⛵⚓⛵
Wow, it seems that boat is set up for long term world cruising, would love to see it under sail.
definitely take it out so you can see how it handles and experience working with the lines.
Love this one, I used to work there at Cape Yacht Management years ago. Great memories thanks for taking me back again ✌🏻❤️😊
The most affable couple on all these sailboat sites. Always enjoy their videos.
Gorgeous boat! Love that skylight set up in the V birth. Scary having such limited visibility towards the bow.
The boat is like a time capsule. So sad to see someone's dream die. But maybe someone can carry their dream on. Very nice couple boat.

Id see this as a great solo boat if it can be single handed. Why waste space on a cabin, its more like a studio, do the living in the salon and pilot house, the bunk is just to sleep on.
God....the prefect sailor's boat...definitely not a charter boat. Long pointed aft is perfect for deep ocean swell right from the stern!!! And long bow to dish into the waves....Too bad you didnt say much about the keel..and missed the second forestay attachment No doubt that boat would be at home in the roaring 40s or even 50s! If I had the money...would be my boat now! Lovely visit
That's how it should be - no wasted space, access to all areas. Can sleep many in emergency, but it's not a floating hotel.

That is some boat! Thanks for sharing. Loved the pilot house/upper saloon with bunk. The price is phenominal. Take care you two.
Nice yacht. Please take it for a sail. We could all learn something from your experience. Enjoying your videos. 🥂🇦🇺
Looks like a great ship. Let’s go sailing! Would love to see it in action. The price is amazing but I guess it reflects a very limited resale potential due to the quirkiness of the design. Most people looking for a boat that size want more comfortable staterooms and heads. I think your idea of a liveaboard couple using it as a day charter boat for groups sounds like a winner, and at that price the business model could work very well. Cool.
Nice boat! That price sure seems like a bargain, too! Thanks for showing it!
This is a great boat for sailing its meant to handle Its absolutely beautiful and you could take it anywhere!
That's a very cool boat! Seems like the kind of vessel that a group of people would take out for a few days or week to just enjoy the seas, do some fishing & maybe a little diving off of it. More like a weekend cabin on the water than a live-aboard concept. Beautiful boat & it's seemed well lit with all the windows. V-berth was amazing & the little hidden drop drawers were perfect for stowing books to read.
Go for it! Want to see her underway!!
Neat boat... the interior layout is a little different... Thanks for the walk through!
Really nice boat and practical ,who ever designed it really thought things thru and made it the best it can be .
RIP original owner & builder you have a beautiful boat for sure.
We would love to see you guys take him up on the offer of sailing it around the gulf. Hope, if you do, that you get some footage of VaMoose from the side., under sail. Appears to be a very beautiful boat - it has piqued our interest!
Sail with him! Maybe he will fall in love with sailing again. 119k is a steal!
Wow, that is a deal. Wish I could leave my job and sail around the world in that beautiful ship

Yep be cautious of great deals the bigger the boat the more crew to handle sails. There more maintenance cost and things suchas paint etc bottom paint starts at $150 gal and most marinas charge rent according to the length.

@davetrout6984

you can say that again
That Bowsprit used together with a Stern Anchor makes it easy to reach into a stone shore without risking the rudder. Thats how you anchor in a archipelago with stonecliffs.
It would be great to see you sailing that boat. Very cool tour. Thank you :)
Extremely well thought out boat. Definitely a different layout, but obviously the owner had a purpose in mind.
Sailing is sailing. You got it.
Great boat! Only very big. Good luck! Hello from Russia. Watch your videos
Thanks of posting and sharing. Very cool boat.
Absolutely do it - sail that boat!
wow, that's the most interesting & expensive deck rigging I have ever seen... the rig lines on the deck look like a trip hazard, the fact they are exposed to daily sun damage... a 14' beam which limits portage, the costs involved regarding up-keep, are daunting...
What a tremendous vessel, quite a small ship really, when you see how over-engineered everything seems to be. And with a 3-inch hull...? The interior layout isn't my cup of tea at all, but each to their own, I guess. Too big for me, and too big for my pockets; a video tour is about as close as I'll ever get...many thanks to Dave and the team for making it happen...

Yes go on a sail with Dave. I love that boat.
Like the drop down hatch for the 9mm .
That is an amazing boat!!! The reason for the small cockpit is it's a real sea going boat. So if you were to take a large wave over the stern (get pooped) there's not enough water to sink the boat nor disable her.

I agree. I don't mind a small cockpit in a vessel like this. You've got the whole pilothouse to hang out in if you want to!

When I first saw this boat I laughed as aI thought a million dollars...seriously? No friggen way. But OMG as you did the tour I was in total awe. That vessel is a total labor of love and worth a dime of the million dollars. The guy who built it was a gifted engineer and carpenter. I wish I had a million dollars :-) The electronics all need upgrading but other than that and a couple other things like a water maker and some solar etc the boat is ready. It like all mono hauls needs a gyro stabilizer installed. But for the price you could afford to do some upgrades
When you said that pilot house bunk was the only real bunk, I was like, noooo, come one. But then...
Definitely go for a sail on that beautiful boat.

And "hope maketh not ashamed."
Really liked the way you guys presented this boat.
I know this boat well. The original owner was my neighbor and Vamoose was in our canal for a few years while he worked on her. You wont find a better deal as the boat has never been sailed off shore as far as i know. It could be modified easily to be whatever you want. The price is ridiculously low.
