He was too dominant. The only way to stop him from scoring, really. The only other center who required an automatic double team at this time was Shaq. Too bad injuries ruined his career. Dude was my favorite player

Man I miss the OLD Dirk Nowitzki. THose handles are so good for a 7 footer

Shit, Dirk could bring the ball up quite fast then. Moved like guard almost. And damn I miss the Yao Ming Era Rockets. They couldn't surround Yao with decent players, and Yao, Francis, and Tmac just couldn't stay healthy was another issue. The rockets now? Man do I hate them. Just as much as the warriors. I dont like anybody on rockets roster today. Ever since Harden joined, and I don't like the rocket's attitude. So cocky just like the warriors. A lot of trash talk and shit. The Yao Ming rockets were humble ass shit. I remember during in interview, Yao said that every rocket then was too soft, and moved the ball around way too much because they're afraid of taking shots, and so Yao would often be forced to take shots for them.

Yao's teammates at that time were really mediocre and could not bring him enough support. Later when Luis Scola, Carl Landry and Ron Artest joined, the Rockets became a really competitive team. Unfortunately Yao was trapped by his injury for a couple of seasons and had to retire at the age of 30.

Two of the most overrated players in the nba. Dirk was a pure genius offensively, but he was possibly one of the weakest 7 footers on defense I can remember. People. made careers from dirk guarding them lol.
