Kids and casuals who thought dirk was slow and unathletic his whole career should see this.. dirk in this era would have been a different beast.. probably alot better than his legendary career..

Yep seriously. He would average 30-32 PPG in this era.

Wow. This is great. Dirk doing it all for the Mavs in Summer League - - Point Forward, defending the rim, scoring in all conceivable ways. I realized now how humble and self-deprecating Dirk really is. He is always praising Luka and KP and saying they are better than him when he was the same age as them. Well, Luka for sure is, but he is actually better than he makes it sound like whenever he is interviewed. I think he is far more skilled than KP can ever be and far stronger than him. I wish KP learns from Dirk so that he can improve to a level the Mavs needs him to be.

@a_sensubean right I’m not gonna say dirk was better than Luka at this age, but the stats of the nba are so inflated right now

He's doing that against The Matrix too. If Dirk would of did like weight training to stay ripped when he filled out he would of maintained this level of athleticism and added to it.

Young Dirk can play just like Jokic. Why didn’t Dirk continue to play point forward, he was a good passer too. He could’ve been a better player if his role was expanded

They wouldn’t let bigs do that back then, he was the first big that was even allowed to shoot. Now days he’d be a triple double threat. He was ahead of his time.

@@iamchaunceman So even when your skillset was a high level, you were only able to display certain aspects of your skill. The NBA told Dirk “You can shoot your jumpers & all that at 7 feet but we’re not letting gonna play point power forward. Your lucky we even let you play in the perimeter, your 7 foot ass should be in the post banging down low in the paint.” The NBA really stifle player’s abilities back then. But it still happen now. Some players have bad luck and some players aren’t afforded the opportunity to showcase their talent & skill. A perfect example of this is Lauri Markennen. When Lauri was in Chicago & Cleveland, he just a role player but as soon as he went to the Jazz he became an all star & won the MIP award. Sometimes it’s based on the situation your in too. But it makes you think hypothetically, what these players could do if they had more freedom

He got Steve Nash and Van Excel to do that. No need for him to play PG. Plus when Shawn Bradley was still playing, Dirk was in PF position. Later on he will fill the C position in his career. And yes, Dirk is not slow. His pacing did become slow with his post up midrange fadeaway jumper though but it is very unstoppable specially in the 4th where he usually do his damage. After Steve Nash departed, Cuban's FO pick up some star calibre players like Terry,, Walker, Jamison, and LaFrentz, but it didn't work out. Leaving Terry the lone survivor from the supposed to be star studded team Dirk led team.

25 and 10 in the playoffs. Vs the nuggets in 09 he lead the series in points and rebounds every game. Dirk was a monster rebounder in many playoffs series. Also his 4th qtr stats in the playoffs are great
