In this case (in my opinion) I disagree with the "choreography doesn't match the song" I think "Scars" has one of their best choreos and they do match the song beautifully, I recommend you to react to the dance version of "Scars^^ and they also have more performances in "The First Take" :)

Definitely my favorite song from SKZ, and it was thanks to the "first take", the nostalgia they transmit when singing (especially Bang Chan), and the lyrics killed me, I cried the whole song, it's a beautiful song, what a pleasant surprise to see this reaction Thank you very much for taking the time to watch it, and appreciate their hard work. xoxo

I realize that this goes against what one might want or expect, but I don't think this song is supposed to have an explosive build-up/chorus. "I'll never cry because I know that it'll never change." The lyrics are about quiet endurance--a heroic, but SILENT perseverance in the face of unending settbacks and pain. It's about having to go it alone while bravely staying true to oneself. Tragically, passion (and hence the musical score) is kept at bay because it isn't helpful to the struggle. There is, however, ONE singular explosive line in the song. Near the end, while they stand in front of a screen brilliant with transcendence, Han yells: "My scars I will show it off!" The line's NOT part of the chorus, and it feels like it stands ALONE outside of the song structure. I think it represents the one defiant yell of someone methodically doing their best to get by without help. Someone who wears numbness like a protective shield but nevertheless feels a sense of pride in their battle marks earned. Given the back story of SKZ and all that they have been through, I think this song is actually an underrated masterpiece. Definitely check out the dance practice video for Scars (the thumbnail shows them in black on a white background). The choreo is insanely descriptive to what the lyrics portray. It's truly beautiful and one of my favorite things to watch❤.

I laughed at 12:35 when they couldn't hold the dance in any longer. Amazing they lasted as long as they did. Started moving more around 11:30 but when the dance break (?) hit, they couldn't control it. LOL love them! and I love everything about this song!

This has always been #1 for me. The fact that they have so many great songs just shows how much I respect this song. Too many amazing moments for me, the choreo is perfect imo. To me it tells a story of a group of friends going through their own hells and how it effects one another and how they lift each other up. They sing it ridiculously well. It's genuinely perfect. I've watched the videos related to Scars too many times to count.

Hey Roscoe, have you done Silent Cry yet? It is a good song, a little sad but very good. The live version also has choreography that some people don't think fit the song. You gotta watch the video where they're all in black. There is also a Han fancam video.

I'm Japanese. I gotta say that I'm so impressed with their pronunciation of Japanese. I couldn't stop crying when I listen to this song for the first time, especially how Han sing "Bokunara Daijyobu" with mixed feeling of sadness and loneliness but trying to tell himself that he is ok😭 The Dance performances on the Japanese TV shows of this song are one of my favorite❤ Byw, I'd love to see your reaction to Sheena Ringo.

Honestly I listen to Scars so much! It competes with Slump as my favourite Skz song!!!

I feel, that...dance somehow reflects heartbeat and how steady/unsteady it is when you are that dark state which leaves the scars. I actually first heard this without video/lyrics and I could kind of hear "heartbeat" in chorus. And I just love tattoo-part. 2 out of 4 tattoos are the scars you can see - but might not understand it...the other 2 are of course rebellious reasons :D

You DEFINITELY need to get into more of Stray Kids songs. Some of the unique thungs they do when it comes to their music choices make them all the more brilliant... For example, they dont put their best songs as Title Tracks, or honestly, even main B-sides. They keep them deeper in their discography, for just the fans. (I think this occurred for two primary reasons. The first is all the hate that Han got from non fans for writing so much about Taboo and/or personal topics. The second... The fact that the "general public", the same public who loves to scream at SKZ for their loud music, got mad when they first tried releasing some of thier less "noisy" music as the lead tracks of a couple early albums. This hypocrisy may sound familiar, as i have noticed it's become the way in which all the JYPE groups that followed SKZ have been treated. NMIXX is a prime example. The public HATED their music, yet they hated it just as much when the label stopped doing the mix pop because they simply couldn't allow the emotional toll it must have been taking on the girls get any worse. Which, they still did, even though it made the company look like sellouts. Not that it helped the girls any, though. At the end of the day, people just started to hate them for that. JYPE groups are by far the most brutally hated, right to their faces, in all of the bigger companies. I say this because not only is it the only large label where multiple idols from big groups have had to take hiatuses because of the mental abuse. Nor have I ever seen any other labels with so many groups who literally couldn't do ANYTHING right according to the public. The majority of which they are no longer, or have never, been popular with. It's also due to the fact that I have never seen a K-pop company get SO MUCH endless and problematic hate for NO REASON. Fact is, I personally fact checked every possible negative rumor and allegation againt JYP, and I can personally confirm that ABSOLUTELY ALL OF THEM have come back as falling somewhere between "based solely on assumption with absolutely no factual evidence to back it up" and "a complete and utter fabrication that happens to actually the opposite of the truth". All of which was therefore clearly concocted by someone who knew the truth and was purposefully trying to slander them with false allegations. According to the MASSIVE amount of verified 3rd party backed and proven information out regarding the truth behind the JYPE label, they may actually be the BEST label in kpop when it comes to the physical treatment, mental support, and professional effort put into their idols AND trainees. Heck, all of their other employees, for that matter. That said... I digress. Lol Back on point... The kids also refrain from making MVs for songs they know will be crowned as 'core fan favorites'. This stems from the way in which they decided whether or not a song should get an MV. Which is simple... They want all of their songs to be loved by the fans as much as possible and as evenly as possible. So, if a songs likeability could perhaps be increased by giving it an MV, therefore bringing it closer to tha the most loved songs as far as the overall appeal of it is concerned. If so, then they do it. This means that the songs deemed as being their absolute best may simply come with a fan made lyric video. And trust us, they are AWESOME. Lol Mind you, reasons 1 & 2 are not mutually exclusive, so this really doubles down on why their more power ballad leaning songs are hidden deep in their discography. In fact, this is why their vocal songs, period, aren't right up front for people to see... People SUCK! SO, now, if you are lucky, sometimes these songs will even come with a live stage. A GREAT example of which would be their OST, 'A Story That Never Ends' (alternatively known as 'Neverending Story') and the live stage they did for it for one of the end of year functions they the industry always has. (I want to say it was on an MNET or KBS channel. And it was done specifically for Christmas.) It was right after they lost their main vocalist, and Seungmin was JUST starting his vocal lessons. (In fact, it was no more than 1, MAYBE 2 months after, as he had left in October.) So, this stage, just like every stage for over year and half also happened to do, actually features Han as a main vocalist. (Which he agreed to step in as, for the sple purpose of allowing Seungmin to properly, without feeling pressured, achieve his vovcal milestones in training. 🥹 He did this despite the fact that it saw him holding down THREE different MAIN positions. Main rapper, main producer, AND main vocalist. (THIS is why we call him the ACE.) Even though he himself had had ABSOLUTELY NO VOCAL TRAINING. As he is 100% self-taught. After all, not only was Han always set to be, and therefore trained as, a main rapper during his Trainee days at JYPE. He also had never had any lessons before that either, despite always being into singing and songwriting. The love for it and his ability to to have trined as well as he did without a proper instructor was due to his father having been in a rock band and having traveled round the world to performcas the lead vocalist with. This may very well be why he's not a "technical vocalist" but it's also also why as a "stylistic vocalist" he still has such a massivly wide range and so much damn natural talent. Haha. The reason he never got any professional training before becoming a trainee, however, very likely has to do with the fact that he was completely homeschooled his entire adolescence. Up until he was about 8-9 yo when he still lived in Korea. Which is about the age when most kids who are interested in music would be likely to start vocal training. However, it makes sense why he didn't when you factor in that not only did the homeschooling carry on after he moved to Malaysia. Which would have likely made it impossible to get any proper training. Considering he would have not only been busy learning to speak Mayla. (Which he, of course, speaks fluently now.) However, even without the language barrier, it would be very hard for a young child who has always been homeschooled to try to take vocal lessons in a foreign country. Specifically due to the fact that, while there, he was homeschooled as well. Quite literally having done so for his entire elementary, middle school, and high-school career. Hell, this is one of the main reasons he's my bias. In spite of it all, when he was 13 yo, he then moved back to Korea, ALONE, to get his GED. (He lived with a friend.) Then, at about 14, he got into JYPE. is where he successfully debuted at the age of 16 as one of Stray Kids' two main rappers and three main producers. (All of the ages given are his ACTUAL international age.) So, this is a young man who was self-taught, completely. And never had ANY vocal training. Was taking a great risk holding down that position for Seungmin for as long as he did. (Without a dingle regret mind you.) Not only when it came to the fact that, without training, things such as unhealthy vocal habits could have very well harmed his voice longterm (they didn't, and his voice is better than ever lol. However, just because I am so proud of him for it, it doesn't hurt to mention that he IS now officially in vocal training. So, he's also only going to be getting better from here on out. Seriously! Over half of the team is taking them now! I am seriously SO proud! LOL) Anyway, it was Seungmins' unbelievable performance on Kingdom that earned him his final position as the groups main vocalist. As he proved not only that he was ready to the world, but more importantly, to himself. Allowing Han to finally be able to step back. Then they blew up! So he STILL didn't have any time, and therefore ability, to train! So, recently, it was the first true chance he had ever had. And considering ALL of this... I have simply come to adore him that much more. Specifically, when you factor in the LIKELIHOOD that his social anxiety stems from a lifetime of being homeschooled. Only to end up on stage for a career as an Idol, and then have the pressure level increased massivly when you suddenly have to hold down THREE main positions in the group in order to save said group... including having to do so ON TOUR, with your vocals being the most dominant on the groups records, albeit for the absolute best reasons. I can't even IMAGINE what he must have been going through, though. However, I CAN understand, better than ever, why he had to go on that hiatus for his anxiety. Which... occured right between the stage for 'Story That Never Ends' and their tour. Apparently, after that stage, he broke down backstage. POINT IS HOWEVER! He made sure to make it a powerful, emotional, and PERFECT stage nonetheless! And that he is one HELL of a STRONG, RESILIENT, AMAZING, TALENTED, AND BADASS ACE having gone through all he has, and done all he has, just so he could be here today. Part of the very backbone of SKZ and one of the most truly talented people i have ever laid eyes. JUST LIKE every single member of Stray Kids, in their own equally unique ways. I do hope you get deeper into their music. Because not only do they deserve it... but because, trust me, you do too! 🖤

I've been disappointed too about lack of English subtitles --- reminds us how spoiled we are... None of the [official] videos for the Japanese album have subtitles. After a bit of digging, I found one for Circus that someone had edited English subs onto it.
