Scars became one of my soul songs from the first notes when they released the MV for it during the Japanese mini album release back in 2021. Han’s lyricism and way of just speaking from and to Stays’ souls has been something that will forever awe me. I love that they rereleased it on the first full Japanese album. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Felix was on mission... Making stays crazy 😂😂😂 And Scars is one of most complete songs ever. Starting from the song itself, the MV, the dance, to the vocals. It's so crazy for me how underrated it is

Yay what a wonderful 35 mins this was! Here is some tmi: scars first take is diff than the original. Chan said he wanted to give it a more light ethereal quality. The makeup is scars with flower over them to symbolize the hopeful healing nature of the song. Mixtape OH Korean title “애” holds a dual meaning and dual pronunciations (like Gone Days, Gondae which means boomer in Korean) In Korean its pronounced ae or ayy which is why they sing "ae can I call you baby" and never sing OH can I call you baby. The hangul looks like OH so they pronounce it both ways. I hope this makes sense haha harder to explain than I thought, 😅. Also, Chan's cheeks are swollen due to wisdom removal and Mixtape OH was the first non-Japanese language song ever played on The First Take. Our SKZ always trailblazing!

Lmao everybody beat me at first!! At this point I've given up on sleep 19:47 I do get goosebumps! But more importantly the emotional aspect of it just translates into strength! And like all the different things I'm feeling lol. When han goes my scars I will show it all! in all caps and I go yes yes we will so it's just. A very quiet sort of strength when this comes up on the playlist, and listening to them separately, like their performances and one takes, I'm always always so amazed that yes my skin erupts into chills and goosebumps all over Case 143 one take was one death trip I didn't survive at all. The remix was so good too!!!

@@NewChapterReactions Omg I had to come back because I realized that I didn’t even mention that the high note Innie does in the Scars first take is my favorite I.N. singing moment EVER 😭 and YES I also get emotional and tear up every single time I hear the song as well, no matter how many times I’ve heard it.

You should check out both "Wow" songs and both "Double Knot" songs. They have the same names but are very different songs. Honestly, "Wow" is like expectation vs reality. Danceracha's is the expectation... but 3racha's is reality. 🤣

I saw it, it was BEAUTIFUL! The fact that most of the attendees have the same vocal pitches, tones and colors... aka an accent of such a distinctive nationality, honestly made it that much more beautiful. They sang so softly and their vocies just melded together. I image since they were directing the sound down to the kids, in a place such as that, with the sound moving away from the cameras the audience was using to record it for us listening online (which still wouldn't be nearly as good as how it truly sounded in person, even in those random area of the dome.) However, for the kids, by the time the waves of voices hit the stage it would have even sounded ten times more beautiful than what ANY of us will hear. No matter the video you watch. The magic of domes. Haha. If you direct it... Then it will travel.

I still can't handle the fact that they felt the need to add the sluttiest little dance to Han's part in Scars, one of the saddest songs to ever exist.

Yes! First takes are awesome and skz just happen to be great at first take/live singing! Also skz dances/performances! The dances tell a story and are more interpretative (literally sometimes what they sing is what they dance), and makes me wish I could dance along

I have days where I can't listen to Scars at all because it just ends in the kind of sobs that make you feel like your soul is tearing. I've heard this song probably a hundred times and I still have to be in the right frame of mind to get through it. I have many physical scars from events that also left deep mental scars. When Chan, specifically, sings it always feels like he is speaking directly to my heart, so I have to be really strong to withstand his parts in this song. His voice carries so much raw emotion and, in a song whose lyrics touch me so personally, it is a very fine line on whether I feel inspired or broken on any given day. I think allowing myself to feel broken sometimes is okay, too, though. I just have to be aware of the days where that could spiral to more of a bad place.

I seriously would give you the biggest hug right now if I could (unless you hate hugs which.. fair) I agree with you that it's okay to allow yourself to feel broken. I think it's an important part of any healing process as long as you know your limits and are able to keep your head above water. You're never going to be okay 100% of the time and it's a good thing to be able to acknowledge that.

Scars was the song that sealed the deal for me: I was a stay. Forever. And the song has not lost its power. Goosebumps, tears, my stomach in knots and sometimes all of the above. And the line "my scars I will show them all"...hits hard. Love the first takes. They're brilliant. Thanks for your reaction!

The first three First Take performances were all emotional songs, while Case 143 was just pure fun! More than two years down the line, SLUMP still gets me every time. Two years on and Scars also still gets me. Mixtape OH will always hold a special place because of it being the first time we got to see Hyunjin again, just after JYPE confirmed his return (the song actually dropped before his official return date, if I remember correctly, so we were caught by surprise) If I think they recorded Mixtape OH (as has already been mentioned, the first non-Japanese performance) and Scars on the same day. The first time that had been done. That was why Chan said it was their second time recording. I am really hoping there is another performance coming up.

I just love everything about this song! The vocals and the lyrics! First takes are always so impresive! I'm so proud of them because they did amazing all of the times! Mixtape Oh is one of my favorites songs of them and listen to the first take version was an experience! Case 143 japanese version is the same as the korean it's just for the first take that they changed it! And I LOVED IT! I actually freaked the first time! Love your reactions to them! Each song holds a special place in Stay hearts each got ( oops for ) different reasons. For me dang, if I’d have to choose it’s ‘ Mixed Tape : OH ‘ ( OH or ‘ea’ the slang for kid) because it signaled along with the dance release of Hyunjin’s ‘Play with fire’ that he returned from his hiatus. Of course in usual Stray Kids fashion we had no warning and tears flowed freely seeing him suddenly on screen again! They sure know how to get us in our feels and we love/hate it with glee. I do believe that Mixed Tape : OH was the first time a song from a Korean Kpop group was sung in Hangul and thus was a great honor for them. Oh heck, it’s always an honor to be invited to sing on the program ‘ First Take ‘. Thank you for playing the trio of versions of ‘ Scars ‘ to the newer audiences it ex pop teases more then the words, it’s about their early struggles, each members story is expressed in the lyrics( especially Chani’s ) because it had taken them so long to be accepted within the Kpop industry. Han, my first bias, has been wrecking and reminding me in their Japanese dances why he was my first bias in the first place. I loved his personality first and then his rap, his vocals, and now his dance. Like please, his movements whenever he centers! There is a swag to it that grips me. plus Han's ending for Scars First Take LOL Then again, everyone is wrecking me so hard that everyone is just shining when it's their turn to own that spotlight. They really feel at home by the time they sang C143 on TFT. relaxed and absolutely upping their charm.

But you asked about the scars effect so I have to answer you ! I in fact do not have the Scars effect anymore, sadly, but there's one reason for that. The effect is different on me because I know the lyrics so I sing (and rap 😭 I don't know the whole rap part but I know some part) instead of having the feeling of this song. But sometimes it happens that the effect come bac but it's pretty rare. But some skz dongs will always have a special effect on me like Spread my wings, Voices, 3rd eye and Phobia (best bridge I don't care) and others !

We still have not been able to narrow it down completely. This has been a topic at home that we don't shut up about 🤣. I THINK currently in the running for me are Chan, Lee Know, Han and Felix and Bri's are Chan, Felix and Hyunjin... all 8 of them are so lovable it's hard to stick with one!
