Dion only officially performed once during the cruise. He opened with this song off his new CD. Dion is a paying passenger rather than a contracted performer on these cruises, but he loves them and joins us every January. He also announced just prior to performing that he and his wife Suzie just became grandparents of twins.
I put a blues foundation temporary tattoo on his arm the day before but he apparently didn't want it there when performing on stage. He later told me he had to shave his forearm to get it off. Too bad, as I would have liked to have seen it show up here. Thanks Dion for performing for us! I love the new CD! Dion was playing the blues in the 60's, had a hit with Ruby Baby and recorded songs that were not released for years (check out the Bronx Blues or The Road I'm on Anthologies-- covers the lost years) Amazing how good he still is in his 7th decade of performing.

Apparently Dion just has NO interest in ageing! Good God can he play guitar! I just purchased this disc upon reading ALL the stellar reviews (get the album "Tank Full Of Blues") and the album is absolutely perfect modern day blues with Dion's killer vocals and jaw dropping guitar playing....who knew he could shred like that?!?! Awesome upload, bluesdrchris! Big thanks to see him live!
Anyone know how Dion got into the blues ? Willie green was a superintendent of dions apatment bldg in the Bronx..Willie played the blues and dion was captivated.
