He even got mad when Wang Chan expressed a desire to torture Jonathan before killing him. I also don't think he hated him that much towards the end because when Jonathan confronted him at his castle he confesses that he sent minions to kill Jonathan because Dio wanted to avoid killing him himself due to the fact that they grew up together and that making Jonathan his zombie slave didn't seem funnto him. However he realizes it was a weakness in him for Jonathan and decided to overcome said weakness by opting to make Jonathan his zombie.

@@ezelegui7901 To Dio those fights counted because Jonathan managed to go from someone he regarded as trash to someone who could match and equal him. Jonathan challenging and beating him also lead to Dio to reinventing his plans and pushed him to do things he never even thought about doing on his own. He even says that if it wasn't for Jonathan he wouldn't have had his vampire powers since Jonathan's interest in the stone mask and him uncovering Dio's plans to poison George is what leads to Dio using the mask on himself and becoming a vampire. Jonathan sacrificed himself with the intention of dying with Dio and in the end Dio didn't die, but Jonathan still managed to stall him for 100 years and he manages to secure his bloodline so they would be the ones who beat DIO. Not to mention Jonathan's body is the one that sends the signal and gives the other Joestars their stands when Enya pierces it and it becomes a weakness for DIO since Jonathan's body was rejecting him.

Ok tbh Dio was so arrogant in part 3. He could've killed Jotaro earlier if he wanted to.. but no we wanted to have fun monologuing. Like come on, Jotaro is stil human, just slit his throat with your knifes.

The part that gets ne with the staircase scene is that you know DIO had to have pracriced that shit. At that point he could only stop time for a few seconds, so he had to put a throne in a room near enough to grab while time was stopped. Not to mention the effort to perfectly move Polnereff a step down the stairs and move back into his stance. DIO is somethin else man.

DIO is responsible for the events of every single part of the og timeline, my man didn't just ensured his in-universe legacy, the JOJO's franchise as a whole just happened because of this man's presence and gravity, it's part of his legady. A real 30 year old pretty famous manga with god knows how many chapters and big influence in japan's parody culture and comedy is a fictional character's legacy this fictional man has so much black air force energy that he influenced the real world, characters whose powers are "being 11th dimensional and capable of deleting anything from existence with mere thought" weren't able to do that

I actually think Dio, if you took away all the ham or supernatural elements, is kind of a huge loser. My man seriously took sharing a massive fortune with someone else to be a personal insult and tried to ruin his step-brother's life to get it himself. After he becomes a vampire, he goes from a figurative parasite to a literal blood sucking one who still steals from others to survive. Then him stealing Jonathan's body is him saying Jonathan was better than him. Of all his weird mutant offspring, only one of them (Giorno) finds a purpose in life to fulfill while the other 3 are directionless losers who easily allied with Pucci. Ungalo is the best example of this, as he is essentially all of Dio's worst traits (sadism, hedonism, blaming others for his own fuckups, etc.) with none of the class or cool factor. What you get is a lazy, stupid drug addict who can only feel happy jamming needles in his arm or blindly destroying things. And if you wanna get technical, Dio's kids aren't technically his and he relied on Jonathan's magnum dong to make them, meaning that Jonathan cucked him from beyond the grave.

this is why i love and both appreciate DIO, Dio i could either take him or leave him but DIO. Just the intrigue of him from his mystery and philosophy in part 3 of wanting to conquer fear and not fear for himself, his power as well is also just insane, it gets even more wild in the OVA to where he threw both trucks, cars and a boat at Jotaro because he wanted to kill him off more quickly and destroyed a pillar that jotaro threw at him as well. The best part of it all has to be when he used an oil tanker as if he already knew that flattening wouldn't work so he used even more fire compared to Wheel of Fortune just to kill Jotaro. His part 6 appearance is my favorite because of his philosophy and entire view on the human race itself because he saw them as things that worried too much and wanted to create a future that was satisfying for Pucci and one that he thought would be better off for humanity by allowing them to see their future and live it the way they were intended to without having to worry about death, destruction or hardship, they would just live knowing what would already happen which is honestly terrifying yet interesting on a theoretical sense. Just overall a great character and possibly protagonist.

If you actually take a second to understand what Dio was doing to Polnareff on those stairs you would see the level of disrespect is Godly!!! His power is freezing time, not rewinding it So Polnareff going up the stairs and then finding himself down again means Dio kept freezing time, stepping down to pick up Polnareff and move him back down the stairs! And the dude ALWAYS made sure he was in his default position before going back up and taking his pose!!! Edit: yeah he did the same for the Senator too!
