Lyrics: Mourning Palace
Daylight has finally reached it's end
As evenfall strikes unto the sky
Far away in the dark glimpsing moonlight
Sickening souls cry out in pain
Whispering voices, summoning screams
Waitin for Satan to bless their sins
Blackhearted angels fallen from grace
Possesed by the search of utter darkness
Hear the cries from Mourning Palace
Feel the gloom of restless spirits
Hear the screams from the Mourning Palace
Feel the doom of hauntin gchants
Eternal is their lives in misery
Eternal is their lives in grief
Abandoned in a void of nothingness
A chain of anger, a fetter of despair
In the garden of depraved beings
This unsacred place of helpless ones
Satan blessed the creatures
Inwathed them in endless night
Whispering voices, summoning screams
Waitin for Satan to bless their sins
Blackhearted angels fallen from grace
Possesed by the search of utter darkness

Everyone loves Trombone guy. He's epic! In other videos you see several members of the orchestra in pinguinsuit + corpse paint. Many of these guys just loved to be there. The orchestra does alot for Dimmu Borgir. For me it was more a matter of some were just a little extra into it.

It`s the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. It`s a pretty young orchestra (I think it was founded in the 90s) and it`s well known for not only doing the classical stuff, but also performing for cinema, video games etc. etc.. I think musicians at this level are in general pretty open minded, but for orchestras like this one, it`s basically a pre-condition because it`s their niche!

This song is from the first Dimmu Borgir album i ever heard. Spellbound was my favorite song but this one is great aswell. Followed DB until Death Cult Armageddon album and saw them live together with Hypocrisy in the end of 2003 and it was a great show. Havent heard them so much after but it was nice to hear them again now while checking your reaction 😊

Thank you for nice reaction! I have just watched the whole concert and I have noticed many musicians and choir singers were moving to the music, many had face paint. They definitely enjoyed this performance! Anyway classical music and heavy metal has many similarities, it is not strange that those musicians liked Dimmu Borgir music!

Dimmu Borgir are one of the only bands in which I really love 40+ of their songs. My top 3 Dimmu Borgir albums are: Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia (2001) Enthrone Darkness Triumphant (1997) Spiritual Black Dimensions (1999) All 3 are masterpieces and have their own style. All 3 are in my top 10 favourite Metal albums of all time. :) Outstanding songs include: In Death's Embrace Relinquishment of Spirit and Flesh Tormentor of Christian Souls Prudence's Fall A Succubus In Rapture Raabjørn Speiler Draugheimans Skodde The Insight and the Catharsis Hybrid Stigmata Puritania Indoctrination Sympozium

I would like to hear interviews of members of this orchestra. How many of them were metalheads before this, how many afterwards? When you watch their rehearsal video, some of those orchestra members look like they are bored, some are like they were begging forgiveness from god. Some are totally on it.

Imagine being a teenage Dimmu Borgir fan and then 15 years being a trombone player in a Symphony orchestra and get to play with your favourite band. And just because you play classical music doesn't mean you don't listen to other genres. And this is a collaboration between the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and the band. So it's not just hired guns. There's a fun documentary on this leading up to the Oslo concert. People who just like one genre are just ignorant.
