"INTERDIMENSIONAL SUMMIT" LYRICS
Mired in illusion
Lost in the masters game
Silenced by the idea of time
Nurtured with lies and deceit
The silent seeker, the seer
Travels beyond the veil
The silent seeker, the seer
Fleeing the dense womb of ignorance
To the trained eye
There are no coincidences
The more you see
The less it makes sense
To the trained eye
There are no coincidences
If you can not see
You can not truly know
We are the current sum of all the ages
Leaving a trail of burnt pages
Thrown into darkness as stars
We travel alone as one
When the dust settles on the tavern
Is when we're liberated from illusion
Taking our first and final breath
Realizing life is always after death

Life is filled with illusions, be silent and be wary of comrades and your environment. The more you see the more of a perception you develop; life will fillip that around too. Those who seek wisdom will always be seeking basically, even where others turn a blind eye. I believe the Havamal had something to do with this or the volsupa Edda They speak about the illusions of life and being wary of our own illusions, the value of silence to understand things, and the sacrifices required for wisdom etc. Idk just guessing
Finally a black metal band that your parents can enjoy.

We will see about their return to black metal. Despite many BMers not liking Dimmu anymore, their album sales and recognition kept going up. Granted their best selling album was Death Cult Armageddon, their subsequent albums charted high in many countries. My point being, maybe they made this song in such a way at the request of the label. Very interested to see what's in store on the rest of their album.

I'm perfectly fine with the evolution of bands! It's so cool when you listen to their new stuff which is so different, but then at the moments you still can here their old style, the old drive. To me that's the amazing. They're not afraid to try new things and it's what keeps them at the top of their game.

Carach Angren is better now after Eonian.
Let's take a look to the facebook description of this music video : " This first track off the new record, the symphonically charged 'Interdimensional Summit', comes with a music video shot by Patric Ullaeus, who had previously worked with the band for the clips of 'Progenies of the Great Apocalypse', 'Sorgens Kammer - Del II' and the award-winning 'The Serpentine Offering'. The song represents the more epic side of a devilish and diverse album, which pays tribute to all eras of the band's 25-years-long history." The other songs may be much darker.
@Exhul666
6 жыл бұрын
I certainly hope so. I found this track to be a bit of a let down. I'm a big fan of most of their work. Most meaning that I feel that In Sortii Diaboli and Abrahadabra were "OK," IMHO; but it seems like they've lost their ferocity or the part that added a bit of fear or sense of foreboding to their music since "Death Cult Armageddon." I'm sure many would argue that it was even earlier on and some would say they've not lost it at all.... just my objective opinion.

Fuck Nightwish, they're shit, and Dimmu Borgir's actually good music. Their symphonic sound doesn't necessarily intertwine them with bands like Nightwish. Plus the black metal side of Dimmu (especially their first couple albums) is brilliant. Like seriously fucking killer
@TheJohannes44
6 жыл бұрын
This is actually very similar to the way many nightwish songs are built up. Guitars and keyboards that blend together, playing the same main melody, typical poppy song structure with plenty of repetition, and some choiry vocals to pretty much echo whatever the main vocalist does. Drums are also quite unremarkable. Even the happy diddly melody at 1:34 sounds like something from a Nightwish piece. I can totally image this with Floor from Nightwish and it would be an absolutely delightful power-sympho metal-like song. I'm just really hoping for another Death Cult Armageddon in my lifetime.

For me Abrahadabra is in general a bad album in exception of Xibir, Dimmu Borgir, Gateways andThe Demiurge Molecule, however these songs are a little bit soft. I think Eonian will be a best album than Abrahadabra.
The more times you hear the new album, the better it becomes. Fucking epic!

The solos are so power metal they're inspiring and lovely asf
i think many people will say they waited for something totally diffrent but i enjoyed it! cant wait for the whole album :)
The fact is, almost all great black metal bands (Darkthrone, Burzum, Bathory, Mayhem and Satyricon, just to name five BIG names) changed their style abruptly as time went by. It seems black metal has certain limitations no musician can ignore after a certain time, like an irresistible urge to “overcome” it after you have explored it throughout. As if the guys said “Well, now that we have the money and the opportunity to release well produced music, black metal no longer fits us. Let’s move on.” And all of them know the purists will search for new underground lo-fi material to compesate for the most recent “casualty” in black metal. That’s to say, these Dimmu Borgir guys are so maligned for their change in style, but they have only followed the usual route, they have “overcome” black metal, like Satyricon and Darkthrone did. Now if the music they make today represents an improvement in quality, it’s up for everyone to judge, they should only not to be seen as an exception when they simply follow the rules of the game.

thanks man for speaking my thoughts, I'm sad .... I did pay for the CDs/DVDs but look like those are not enough, do you have any suggestion of the new breed? I feel this world has changed, gradually, but still like the same spirit as the good ol' days

You neglect to mention that Fenriz, and Varg both changed styles due to the disenfranchisement of the Norwegian scene. It was actually because bands like Dimmu Borgir, and Satyricon that they changed styles, and currently resent the genre. And it wasn't so much "trying to overcome" for Quorthon", so much as it was wanting to branch out, creatively.

With that logic, Enthroned should sound like Nightwish as well! Truth is, some bands are sellouts and some stay true and kvlt!
This song brought one solemn tear to my eye. Dimmu Borgir!!!
That 6 6 6 count in the main riff- Dayum son. Loved it.

I'm not so fond of the orchestra sound, but what they did from 2:24 onwards with the simple keys was pretty cool! Reminds me of the keys on Filosofem from Burzum. Very retro-like feeling! And the riffs and melodies on 1:41 and onwards are beautiful too!
