"COUNCIL OF WOLVES AND SNAKES" LYRICS:
Nomads plunging into the vast abyss
Unattached, fleeting through the chasm
Naked in pure darkness
Embracing the new dawn
We are gods here for the taking
Yield to the dragon's embrace
We are gods
Yield to the dragon's embrace
As pawns in this secret game
No one knows nothing
Yet, in the realm of sacred play
Everyone knows everything
A winged and secret flame
Leaving this paradigm
A dimension we are set to flee
We are gods in the making
We are here for the taking
Yield to the dragon's embrace
We are of transcendence
We are wolves and snakes
A winged and secret flame
Leaving this paradigm
A dimension we are set to flee
The arrival is in the departure
We are sculpted into life
By the hands of death

This song, the entire album, it's just... Can't even describe it. I've been a rabid fan for about 20 years, and no album has resonated with me so much. It literally mirrored my mood, my feelings, thoughts. No matter how hard I try, I cannot describe the insane match of this album with me internally. Especially Rite of Passage, I can play it for hours in a loop.

@@WolfsOfRagnarok think things have chilled out over there, cradle of filth in particular used to have real hard time. Can't remember 100% but I think that's how the whole extreme metal genre was started. Blackmetal was more than a genre and a lot of folks didn't appreciate people using the look, sound, and themes in any way that was not true to the scene. I am sure that over here in the USA we heard the most extreme of news about it all and probably not the whole truth.

@@ignis6993 Well for one thing I graduated from high school and got the Master of Disharmony award :P And I did a lot of tape trading (if someone still remembers c-casettes) inside Europe and outside too and I think what I ment was that the 3rd album by Dimmu was already back then in 1998 (?) considered a sell out and people were saying (stupid) things like 'DB is way too happy and cheerful and it's no different from christmas songs because the songs are way too cathy'. That doesn't mean ofcourse that anyone would have to stop listening to them but they were not considered as black metal anymore. My own Dimmu favourites are Enthroned, Spiritual, Puritanical and Abrahadabra. What I love about the title of the song is that it would describe the parlaments of most countries really well.

This isn't necessarily about evil. This entire album talks about time, dimensions, and other occult topics that are not easy to understand.
