True story an old Christian friend introduced me to this song as a joke saying he wanted to fight the lady vocalist. I've been hooked on Dimmu since 🤘

I wish she was featured in more songs like these :(

I had NO idea that this was the same vocalist from Animal Alpha, holy shit she is PERFECT for this band, she ought to be made a permanent member, the singing compliments Shagrath's growling vocals like no one's business. Seriously, this is so much better than the previous album. Simply marvelous.

This song resonates to the darkness within me. It does what true metal does, transcends my mind to the realm of imagination and purges my soul of the baggage of mundane life.

Screw the haters. This isn't black metal, this is talent.

Ok, I just discovered these guys and I have watched this video three times in a row now just because of how fucking GOOD it is and then I started thinking what if an orchestra played this and the oboes and English horns would be the female vocalist and the bassoons and trombone the lead singer and I just started crying uncontrollably because of the beauty and intensity of it all and HOLY FUCKING SHIT GUYS THIS IS AWESOME

I've known about this band for quite some time, from my early teen years when they had just started up (I'm Norwegian, and they were the Norwegian metal band "everyone" had heard of I think), but never listened to it much. The first time I heard this song it didn't quite do anything for me. But now I'm hooked and have been listening to it for hours. I really like the contrast between Shagrath's rough sound and her clear vocals. (And to Jason and Chris down there,shut up and listen to the music!)

I love how this song sends me the emotion and the feeling of having my hands on my own faith being able to control it,its like it saying that we are responsible for the living we make ourselves and that we should not let our hands of our faith as we are the creators of our own one...I dunno that's what i feel when i listen to it :)),i still wonder what would be the true meaning of the song

You know what , I don't care that this band is true or not. In my opinion ti's just diffrent , I have never seen something like Dimmu Borgir before. Something new , something amazing. For me it's one of the best black metal bands , which have ever exist. They even made ``white`` to black. And ``Gateways `` seems to be their best track , specificly in 3:35 . Peace and love to all fans , and respect to Dimmu for their music. Keep rockin '' . HAIL !

Agnette's performance was awesome. She is just incredible. Hopefully Dimmu Borgir will collaborate with her again. Song: "GATEWAYS" is referenced. She really made this song. Her performance in the "live" video (LIVE - FORCES OF THE NORTHERN NIGHT) is one of the main reasons I keep coming back for more. Is she in any other works you have done , or will do? Love your band.

Dimmu have such grand videos, and I really admire that about them. I certainly don't compare Dimmu to COF, but one weakness COF have always had is the low budget look to their videos. It's ends up hurting the grandeur of their music, because a cheap video doesn't compliment the epicness of their albums. Dimmu succeed on that score!

Daray is a great drummer, check out pyorrhoea and vesania and see what I really mean. I do believe this is one of the worst albums yet, but gateways is the best song on the album probably.

These guys seem like the rap stars of theater metal. Over the top high budget video, featuring some lady I don't even know. Slow, then fast motion yelling at the screen, blowing smoke, instead of "hoes" and cars, they have naked girls in bathtubs getting milk and blood poured on them with random "organs" in their hands. They may have tweaked a couple of things to suit their genre, but it just seems like a "by the books" list to me. Maybe I'm just tired of music videos..

Truly, truly went soft..
