I've met Vortex. Didn't realize first who he was as I'm not a super big Dimmu fan. He's a true gentleman. Meeting him and other rock/metal artists, he's one of the kindest

O Vortex realmente tinha uma voz melancólica bastante bonita. Eu gosto desse tipo de voz, nas melodias elas são a "cereja do bolo". Às vezes em um show se aguarda mais o momento da melodia em que o segunda voz entra do que do restante da música.

Dimmu is OK without him and Mustis, but they were absolutely unimaginable with them. I don't care what people say, black metal peaked with Dimmu's album run of Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia-In Sorted Diaboli.

On the one hand I do agree that it would be nice to have him back in Dimmu. Their best songs are the ones that feature his clean vocals, and they are the highlight of those songs. Examples would be tracks such as "The Insight and the Catharsis", "Kings of the Carnival Creation", "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse", "The Serpentine Offering", "The Sacrilegious Scorn", and what is in my opinion his absolute best Dimmu vocal performance: "Allehelgens Død i Helveds Rike". I've also always wanted to hear him on "Gateways". That being said, I think his departure ended up being for the best, as he was never truly given the kind of spotlight he deserves. If he had stayed in Dimmu, he probably never would have rejoined Borknagar. If you haven't yet heard their most recent album "True North", go listen to it in its entirety. It's an absolute masterpiece and features more Vortex clean vocals than the entirety of his Dimmu material combined. If you're a fan of Vortex, "True North" is an absolute must-hear.

Povo paga tanto pau pra voz do Vortex, mas ironicamente a carreira solo dele não faz tanto sucesso,e muitos nem sabem que ele tem uma carreira solo com um tipo de rock mais alternativo

That's because he sounds best in the dark epic context that Shaggrath, Mustis and Galder created. They were a creative power house. Too bad their personalities got so much in the way. I can imagine how difficult it must have been to work with eachother, but I'm of the opinion that real art can inspire great sacrifice. It's likely that the creative spark was gone before they decided to part ways.
