Dimmu Borgir are the Nightwish of black metal
I was in highschool when this came out and I blasted this album everyday for over a year after, Still holds today. "ZERO TOLERANCE MUST BE ISSUED FORTH BEHIND THE ENEMY'S LINES"
I have fond memories of driving around with my friends, smoking pot, and fucking rocking out to this album, and other by Dimmu Borgir. Death Cult Armageddon came out when I was a senior in high school, and it blew me and all my friends away. We would hot box the car and play Progenies over and over, it was such an amazing song. So there is a ton fo nostalgia here for me. I miss you Lindsay and Pat, we had a lot of fun together.
I'm religious somehow, but this band is my fave of all time since I was a teenager, oh back then. Now I am full grown ass woman 36 age and still get goosebumps hearing their best album in my opinion. 🤘

i get what your saying, ill be turning 32 in couple months, but being raised in a religious settting you tend to seek out the dark side of things in order to understand them. To me it was always talking about the human sickness , the darkness within us that must be seen and understood in order to grow from it. To me It was always a maner of venting about the Human condition, but i being in the school choir for all my life i can also Appreciate the musical ability and the use of Orchestras and choirs and the ultimately the Harmonization of it all! The most power bit for me starts at 1:10.... i always got goosebumps hearing the power behind his voice!

Мужики, круче вас нет Никого! Слушаю уже 17 лет и балдею!
I remember when music videos were like this, not some artsy "I know this guy from my economics class, he's got a camera" type of job. The production, the concept and album artwork were all done in tandem, Joachaim Luetke was the cover artist from memory. I have this album on DVD-Audio as well as the CD, such a masterpiece!
10 years later, and these guys are still one of my all time favorites.
First time listening to Dimmu Borgir. I'm now a fan.
i am sooo grateful, that my first metal band was dimmu borgir ❤️8 years ago. and i will never stop embracing them. until the end ❤️💥💪
Discovering Dimmu Borgir was the single best thing that happened to me in my childhood. Mustis is the reason why I started playing piano as a child, Silenos and Galder where also my inspiration for playing guitar. The best since over 10 years. Kings of black metal
This song sounds to me like somebody sat down and thought to theirself, "I wonder what a metal song fit for a musical would sound like" and then made this master piece

@@Grimeyhoob They should stick to writing in their own language as the lyrics just do not make sense in English. They certainly havent a patch on Cradle of Filth's lyrics - which as far as lyrics go in general are some of the best ever written, and not strictly within the genre of Metal either. Say what you want about Dani being a poser, his voice sounding like a cat being raped and the music not being Black Metal (which I dont think they'd dispute), Dani's a *MASSIVELY* talented Poet and lyricist. Show any scholar of the English language worthy of the very name Dani's lyrics (without the music or his onstage/theatrical image/persona) and they'll agree too, I can almost guarantee you that. I know this is a relatively old Dimmu song (I actually bought this album when it came out which proved to be the first and last Dimmu album I'd buy) so maybe their English has improved by now, I dont know. I hope so, because as I said - it just doesnt make sense, or it lacks the substance of imagery and basic poetic devices and just appears hollow to me. Credit where credits due - I like the music though; its well orchestrated and the muscians thenselves are geninely talented. Those background vocals sound INCREDIBLE. Doesnt one of their guitarists play for Cradle now though?
This song gets my adrenaline pumping every time I put it on.
