@@humulomon i have a ver 1 too, actually 2 of them from back in the day, are the battles completley random? or can you control them? if i have one that is younger will it always loose?

Lol this is very relevant in 2022 with the swapped boards fiasco.

So I wanted to change the background on my VPET Version 20th (English). I was a little unexperienced but was confident. I know that this wasnt meant as a tutorial, but this video really helped! All the VPETS are kinda built the same. Well I succeeded! Thanks a lot! Just wish I could enter debug :/

You'll probably have no idea what I'm talking about, but thanks for showing this. Turns out pretty much every Bandai Device has those jumper points. Using this video I was able to find those points in the Dimension Rod, and we may be able to access debug mode.

Yeah I’m part of a Reddit Group working to research everything about the Treasure Gaust series and this video was linked and we were able to get one of the devices into debug mode to fully catalogue its workings so thanks!

You could run the evolutions code segments in a external monitor and back engineer to see the values.. if you want to go to the effort!

I'd absolutely go through the effort, but unfortunately such a thing just simply isn't possible, at least not from the attempts that smarter people than I have tried. The EEPROM has been successfully intercepted, but the save data stored there isn't of any practical use sadly. The real meat remains stuck in the device

Does anyone know how to do this on a dmx with a red circuit board? The pin layout is entirely different. Thanks for any help

This is almost a three-year video but as an alternative to bridging them, you can just also create a jumper between the two with a switch and run it out the bottom or side.

Jezz how do you have the guts to open these things. I'm guessing you have a lot of experience, just thinking about opening mine makes my chest tight hahahahaha

Funnily enough, my only experience with doing this is with Digimon Vpets! Once I found out about version switching on the Pendulum Ver.20th, there was no way I was going to let a lack of experience stop me from testing out something so interesting.

I only have jp1 jp2 3 4. I don't have a china machine. What do I have to do to drain the pencil at jp1 to make it grow faster? You can unlock other monsters.

Came here because the buttons on my 20th anniversary became sticky over time and I saw on a forum to take it apart and clean the button areas on the board with a qtip and alcohol and do the same with the underside of the buttons. Someone else said this will ruin the buttons because of thee (carbon coating?) underneath the physical buttons themselves. Will doing this affect in any way the board or the buttons? Also, prior to taking it apart should I do anything special like putting it on the reset screen so I dont risk losing my data?

The alcohol won't be enough to damage the contacts, cleaning with that should work just fine for that. While losing save data on a DM20 from disassembly is very rare, I do regardless always suggest resetting to the splash screen first, just to be safe.

Sunmns Earbud cases, found here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071HDSVNC I also use a Joto Electronics Organizer when carrying more than two pets at once, or when carrying larger pets that don't fit in the earbud cases.

Only via surgery, you need to connect or disconnect JP2 on the devices circuit-board.

I find it difficult to use a pencil, solder is much more reliable. However, using a heavy enough leaded pencil will work if you really fill it in.

If you have the Japanese one, yes, but the English one is not able to go into debug mode

Hey hum i was wondering if there is anyway to mod the device to have all eggs from both versions in one via coding to the device? and my other question is if i unlock the special area via debug will the evolution remain unlocked if i take it out of debug after?

Unfortunately you cannot have all Digimon raisable from both devices, each device only contains the data for its own evolutions. As for removing the debug and keeping unlocked status, I'm honestly not sure! I've never attempted that myself, but it certainly seems plausible.

If they are the same language, they will. English versions can only swap with English versions, while Japanese versions can only swap with Japanese versions

The debug mode only seems to show Digimon from the single version. Is there any way to choose digimon from both red and purple?

There is not, unlike previous modern pets, the Red and Purple DMX2 only contain the data for the Digimon specific to that version.

Yes, the English DM20s removed the ability to access Debug Mode or Version Switch entirely.

i noticed there is a n extra jp connection on the dmx white version labeled jp2. Do you know what that connection does?

Yep! The JP2 connection is what determines whether your device is Black or White. Changing this connection will change your device to the opposite version.

I recommend JIS screwdrivers, specifically a 0 or 1

In the debug mode the battles all yield 1000xp is there a way to change it back to normal xp yields without deactivating the debug mode?

The good news is, only Area 1 and Area 2 give boosted experience, every other area is normal. THis is not able to be turned off as long as you are in debug mode.

The menus on this device are all in English, and the names of the Digimon are all in Japanese. There is no way to modify that

If it's the English release, I'd just recommend getting a replacement rather than fiddling with it. It's possible that tightening the screws on the board could help too

You can! When debugged, you are given a screen that lets you choose your area, and if you set the area to 46, you will have area 46 and Leviamon X unlocked. This also means that EVERYTHING will be unlocked except for Beelzebumon X and Lucemon X (until you unlock them via their normal methods), so I would recommend playing normally at first just so you can get the full experience of going through quest mode at least once.

humulomon, hey, can you help me, please? Instead of debuging my device, I just did the A+C and Reset thing, to choose Leviamon X In Demo Mode, then I reset and load my device to play normal with it. But the thing is: the numbers of the Digimons in my Library doesn’t appear anymore, as if they were blocked. But the Digievolution seems normal, since I was able to Digivolve Kiimon to Yaamon and, when I’m progressing in Quest Mode, the others Digievolutions seem to unlock normally. Could you tell me if there is something wrong with the Library in my device and if I will be able to Digivolve my monsters normally, even if their number doesn’t appear on Library?

@@tom_blackfyre All the normal evolutions will still occur, even though they don't appear. HOWEVER! Even by picking Leviamon in the Demo selector, you do not unfortunately unlock the ability to evolve into it. The device is reliant on Area SP being cleared to allow that to happen.

For every Digimon evolution on the X series, there will be one that is "Other Conditions Not Met". What this means is that you have to look at the other conditions, and not fulfill those. So for Dracomono, this means you can't have 0-2 care mistakes with 4 effort, and you can't have 3 or more care mistakes if you want Sistermon Ciel. Getting 0-2 care mistakes, with 0-3 effort would work. Saying "Other Conditions Not Met" instead of listing out the other possible combination helps save space on the charts, as some Digimon have a lot of possibilities (4 in some cases!) that end up with the same result.

for some reason on my purple DMX V2, on area 13 yields 120-240exp(with exp boost chip)

Black, blob-like circle under the screen - Microprocessor: where the 'OS' of the vpet is kept) Black box/chip in the lower-right corner - EEPROM: (Where all your data is stored, such as current level, current hunger rate, the name you put down when you first turned it on, etc. This is also where your state is saved when you take the battery out. It reads from this when you put a new battery in and choose 'Load' to resume your Digimon.

@@SSJ3MetaridleyXros I don't really remember but it's something you find easily on mobile. It's not called digimon to avoid copyright infringement, and you can raise 4 digimons and make them fight.
