Digimon 02 was my favorite as a kid. Although it was also the last one I watched. Wasn't until maybe like 3 years ago I went back and watched the other Digimon shows. And won't lie...kinda like Frontier and Tamers a bit more since the issues they tackled were more grown up

Yo you're 100% right!! Frontier gets a lot of hate but it's actually my fav digimon series. I really liked tamers too

It's 02 as in 2002 when it takes place btw (which is also 3 years after the original Adventure, which took place in 1999)

Tbh, i think the only REALLY cool part of DA02 was the ending. Nothing beats every digivolution for all the partner digimon existing simultaneously

Even when I watched Digimon 02 more than any other Digimon seasons combined when I was younger, as I grows up I notices it's closest thing any other anime-style medium got similar treatment with Pokemon anime(at least before this retires Ash and Pikachu): from Arukenimon and Mummymon being Digimon's Team Rocket Trio, Takeru and Hikari being closest thing any other animesque characters treated like Ash in Modern anime of Pokemon(down to Hikari's psychic gifts being forced into Retconian just like Ash's aura powers), Ash's friends are like Older digidestined, and don't get started to canon writers limit the species of Superpowered beings to their franchises' titular creatures, leaving people there more useless than even so-called useless characters from any other universes. This is what my problems with Digimon 02 and it's sequels(which shared with my problems with pre-Horizons modern anime of Pokemon) which can easily cripple crossover between both Digimon and Pokemon series with almost everything else that aren't (more) mundane slice of life shows Speaking of myself can't afford Takeru and Hikari being only original digidestined that become Digimon Adventure 02 protagonists, this can be more of the result of my OCD, as Takeru and Hikari being only original digidestined that become DA02 proagonists can still works as long as both don't get sidelined and nerfed as well better written than Sisters of Battle under Matt Ward writings

It's lowkey underrated

As a long time resident of Japan, I always find it interesting to see which anime were beloved in the West. This season of Digimon was extremely hated here, so much so they had to make the Tri movies, Adventure anime reboot, Kizuna and 2023 Adventure 2 movies just to backtrack and fix all the mistakes they made 😂 Personally, I love Tamers the most. I'm happy it's finally getting the love it deserves. The only "flaw" Tamers had was being"dark and depressing" which I'm okay with. The story is coherent and untouchable though.

@@KingKasper pretty much 90% of Japanese friends my age told me "I wish they hadn't made Adventure 02" 😂 I think it's because 01 ended so perfectly. I'm glad they made the Kizuna movie even though it got me in the feels.

Can you provide any evidence besides just your opinion. Tri and the Adventure reboot didn't backtrack on anything related to 02. While Kizuna and The Beginning 02 both have the 02 kids and changes nothing about their story. Just because you personally don't like it doesn't mean it's wildly hated.
