It’s simple but it’ takes some work too! I love it, especially with the grandkids, it’s all about making memories.

All the grandchildren like to go clamming with me. Of course they hardly do any clamming, but they have fun. No crab is safe from discovery on the beach. If it’s warm I bring towels because inevitably they will be taking a dip. I am happy to make memories with them. Thanks for stopping by.

best place to get the oysters is at dead low tide right next to the skiffs. every day when we are done with our harvest any oysters on the boat decks you trow them out.

Can you get a shellfish harvesting permit if you are from out of town and just vacationing in Cape Cod?

Yes you can, each town has its own licensing so check the website of whatever town you plan to go shellfishing at.

I live in and have a shellfishing license in the town of Barnstable. Each town has there own licensing departments. In this video we’re at Barnstable Harbor.

We measure them with a gauge we get from our Natural Resources office.
