@@joebloggs7514 the "Ground Breaking" doctrine requires the Chieftain to entrench itself and await the advancing enemy forces to bring the battlefield to it. Under this doctrine, the Chieftain is Euro 5 compliant and inline with UNFCCC's "Zero Emissions" protocol.

They really have to buff the digging so you can make a functioning enough trench in 3 passes, max. Cuz otherwise it just takes too much time and by the time you make a good trench the match just ends or you die, twice.

This plus fixing the terrain vibration bug, which will help more of the game besides just diggy diggy hole, would make the plows viable. Not the best solution on every map or every firefight but a viable solution to some problems to have in your toolbox.

@@BLIZZARD1880 I spaded it, its low speed is really infuriating, but the cannon and turret armour is pretty good. Best used as a sniper rifle while playing hull down in my experience. Rather difficult making money with it as the repair cost is high, you cant make mistakes if you want to gain sl (checking corners, reducing exposure to possible enemy positions)

Hope they fix the bouncing in the dig mechanics and add dozer blades to low tier vehicles, I think it would be a fun (and more effective) mechanic on a low BR

@@bob6910 its a gimmick not a real mechanic, since the update every one of my maps has a weird ugly filter on it now that lets me see woodplanks under the ground, i assume this is how they made the ground be destroyable now, on top of that people have been complaining about the same bugs and balance issues for months- years now and theyre adding something thats only useful if youre going down the russian line as you dont have to own a premium or get to top tier to get it and even then its literally useless, everytime i see someone trying to do something with a scoop its for a meme or because theyre trying to make it work except it doesnt because you get just an atgm to the face once or if you do get setup. the only use i could see is how you said in low tier but i cant imagine spending minutes digging something out just to get flanked or mantlet penned in my sherman

"Hey look guys, i can dig a hole so my hull is completely entrenched and only my turret is exposed !!" "But your turret can be penetrated by every enemy and most of your crew is in there, so you just made yourself a very static target" "... SHUT UP"

"Thunder War" that made me laugh so hard for some reason.

When the community's like "please gaijin we need BR decompression" and the snail, rolling in the money from the A-5C and the T-72TURMS-T, says "you want shovels right? like, shovels, and more guided munitions right?" as the servers proceed to burst into flame and the server hampster runs to get a fire extinguisher only to find it behind a $3.99 paywall.

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. If you hit a low percentage one it's glorious!.

I've actually had moderate success in the Chieftain. It's not my best vehicle at 8.3, but I do better with it than the Olifant. It's true though, that you can't be seen at all in that thing unless it's only one person, and you saw them first and are able to shoot them first. Unfortunately, the Olifant is an even worse case of "you can't even be seen because they WILL pen".

Took out the Chieftain Mk3. Had an atgm penetrate 4 ft of dirt, penetrate the dozer blade, the hull, shoot back towards the entry point, then bounce back to the interior of the tank killing the crew... Very useful update.

Chieftan should be 7.3-7.7 with the Leopard its counterpart. Leopard was 1965 and the Chieftan 1966 if I remember correctly. Its armor is just no longer effective enough for 8.3 let alone its speed.

Day 78: Phly, you should play the Hawk III Chinese fighter; 900lbs of bombs in a biplane at 1.0 that you can dogfight in after dropping. Totally balanced.

Digging fighting holes takes time and is for defensive purposes. I don't really see the practicality of trying to dig a fighting hole for a tank in this game. You just don't have the time to do it effectively. I will say, it is rather amusing and entertaining to watch Phly do it though.

The chieftain mk3/5 was my favorite British tank I’ve ever played man. Super fun tanks if you play around the speed

Hey had an idea for the scout vehicles. How about a slow timer that when you activate it ticks down until, bingo! CAMOFLAGE NETTING. made to suit the map. So desert has beige sand netting or grass and trees have the typical military green with leaves etc. Make it so with some skill you can hide yourself from someone not paying full attention. Id love to be able to almost dissapear and wait for a perfect side shot as the enemy trundles past blissfully unaware 🤣

Wanna try VFW with the armor up again? It's quite a challenge as an open top tank destoyer but good with the usual plane issue!

Keep in mind they brought the Chieftain Mk5 up to 8.7...... the same BR as the TAM 2IP. And it gets DM33 105mm, and a Laser rangefinder, and its faster, but it got raised cause....... reasons.

what we really need is some retro bulldozers with maybe a rifle mount at reserve to utilize the update there are still some tanks that it could kill and they can add a bunch of stuff to them to make it really gimmicky like the sea mine as a deployable mine and some smoke grenades and maybe launcher

Don't worry Phly, there's an even higher BR bulldozer tank for you! The Type 90, if I remember right, also gets one Funnily enough the Bravo variant doesn't despite having the mounts for it unlike the regular Type 90
