In this video, I solve a differential equation using Laplace Transforms and Heaviside functions. I would have a table of Laplace Transforms handy as you work these problem! I assume in this video that you are comfortable working with Heaviside functions and also using tables of transforms.

It felt so nice when you explained every step so slowly, unlike others who just go like *this is basics we all know*. Thank you so much!!!
You are a legend among men
I may sound like a nerd, but I'm kind of sad that tomorrow I take the last math test of my life. I truly appreciate you taking the time to break these concepts and problems down step by step. I wish nothing but blessings from God on you, and I pray that his grace reign on your life even after you take your last breaths on this Earth! Thanks so much!

+IHEARTEMMAWATSON stay tuned, I'm at the coffee shop writing up a few more things about heaviside functions and Laplace transforms! Gonna go back to my dark room and film soon...
I'm writing my Differential Equations final exam tomorrow and you just saved my life! BTW you also helped me pass Calculus last semester haha.
you by far have the most helpful videos for diff eqs
Partick can you please make a few videos regarding the Dirac-delta function and it's Laplace transform?
I passed my exam with this lesson!!good work !!
The best video on the subject for sure! Very clear.
This couldn't have come at a better time. We are learning this right now in my diff eq class and I was reading through the book and lecture notes struggling to understand this and you explained perfectly! Thank you so much!

Alex Yokiel, the same to me. I am going to have my final test friday.
Funny how you posted this right now! I've got my mideterm of Calculus III (Laplace transforms, systems of linear differential equations, etc) in about 8 hours, so I already studied this, but when I saw it popping up in my feed I decided to give it a look just to revise :)

Enlightening techniques especially using the second shifting theorem to makes things easier. Blew my mind!
congratulations and thank you Patrick. it helped me a lot
I'm taking Diff EQ in a one month term. Learned this today and am covering new material tomorrow that will be on the exam in 2 days. This is the first time in any math course that I've ever been completely dumbfounded about material
Lol perfect! I'm taking Diff-Eq this semester :D
Thanks! I couldn't make the lecture on this subject and have a test on this pretty soon.
Very good explanation, much appreciated.
Thank you mr. Patrick, very cool
Brilliant video as always!
Lots of thanks to you dude
Patrick you're a life saver!!!
Thank you so much this actually make a lot of sense.
massive effort pat thank u
well man..i understand very well now is my turn to practices more thanks indeed
Thank you so much this was very helpful😊
great explanation. Thank you
do we always leave the e^s term on the right side as a separate term?
Awesome video! Thank you!
How would you plot the final result in the function g(t), with the unit-step limits?
I was like "OOOOOOoooo Laplace transforms! ... (clicks video) " I think i like math. I'm not sure how to feel about this.
Can you go into a little more detail about computing the Heaviside part? I am a little lost in that area. Why are you saying f(t - c) = 1. I know it's a function. Is it coming from the g(t) part where 0 if 0
Can you make a video about Dirac Delta Function involving laplace transform please?
Thank you guys
Hello, would it be possible you to solve the equation by applying collocation method say using Chebyshev polynomials? I would be thankfull. Greetings from Poland
Awesome post ...thanks
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU going over this video for the 4th time in as many weeks--diffy final is in 2 hours!

Hello, Is there a video for Partial Differential Equations using Laplace Transform + Heaviside Functions???
Thank you Professor!!

You are welcome!
how would you take Laplace if there was a 1/t multiplying by the y'?
what about y(t)=0 did you sove for it
Thank u for this video
thank you sir
Call Arizona State University and demand at least 3/4 of the tuition I paid for MAT275 because you've certainly earned it.
@2:06 is there any procedure to write that heaviside function form????
thank you
at 25:29, that inverse Laplace equation should equal to f(t) Not F(s)
i watched my professor's videos so many times and still didn't get this, thanks
omg thank you so much
What's the name of the textbook you had in the video?
Plzzz help me sir has given me Assignment that has include 3y"+3y'+y=g(t) And interval is from 1 to 2 ....
thanks
thank's man! :) very well
what if it is y''' would the eqn be s^3y(s) - s^2y(0) - sy(0)' - y(0)'' ?
amazing
Consult m any best book for integrals transfer
What if you don't have initial values?
why didnt you state the range?
i hope you focus in Diffrential equations a little bet more plz

What happened to y'(0)=1 in the LHS? Shouldn't the result be y(s^2-1+3s+2)=y(s^2+3s+1)?

Sorry, I see my mistake. The -1 is on the other side of the equation. It's not multiplied by Y(s).
H(t-1) is just left like that?

Absolutely, this stuff is at least 100 years old.
I'm usually good till they put 10 of these on a test and only give 2 hours to complete, which shows me my school & teachers don't know how to multiply or divide, which isn't what I want to hear when I'm paying money for it. I mean 30m*10questions = 300 minutes really isn't a hard problem.
i literally cannot stand your marker on that paper
man calculus is so useless. I wish I could use my free time to learn practical stuff instead of losing time with this.
Please stopping calling the Heavaside function, it’s heaviiiiside function named after the mathematician Oliver Heaviside
