Different valve kits for a Rinnai tankless heater

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

There are many different valve kits on the market some are really good and some are not so good!!!!!
Here are a list of the valve kits I have found to be very good.
Remember to always use a good valve kit with the proper relief valve rated for the BTU'S of the unit you are installing.
Use a valve kit that costs at least $80.00
Valve kits
The two Rinnai kits are the same number-MlVK-T-LM
RU and RUR kit- 107000284
Easyflex has no model number
I hope you enjoy this video,
Mike

You're exactly right about those non stainless shafts breaking! Finally, someone that knows I don't care for any of these valves. The service port valve handles and isolation valve handles are always too close together and difficult to turn by hand and or with pliers. Pliers because when I get a service call, 100% of the time they've been sitting for 2-5 years without turning and is difficult to turn by hand. Installing a dedicated return (dedicated recirculation return line) line voids the warranty or reduces the warranty on Noritz tankless water heaters. I'm certified with both Noritz and Rinnai but I prefer working with Noritz because they have their own in house tech support, training, sales and warehouse with parts in Southern CA. Can't beat the EZ series 25 year warranty on the stainless heat exchanger. Made in Japan. What I don't like about Noritz is they're selling a cheap Korean tankless water heater, a company called Kiturami (The Korean company even used a Japanese looking name to fool people. It uses Chinese parts, it's total crap. It has the Noritz name and model NRCP1112 but it's not a Noritz and it's not made in Japan.

Mike, you are so amazing and so thorough. I truly appreciate your knowledge, helpfulness and your clarity. Thanks to you I purchased a Rinnai. I am working to set up my tankless to recirculate to my existing First Co. Hydronic Air Blower. My questions right now are related to the threading on Rinnai isolation valves as well as the IPS threading you mentioned related to the Rinnai DRV in the excellent DRV video you did. My RUCS75I manual says the water inlet is MNPT while the hot water outlet is MSPT. I understand MSPT is straight pipe threads so I suppose its an FIP connection. I was hoping to use the Rinnai DRV

I also hired someone and they took the burner plate off and used a air compressor and cleaned it but still code 12. I also already replaced the inlet filter just in case. I even bought new flame and ignition rods and same. The unit was built in 2008 and installed in 2009 so I thought maybe it’s time to replace. Mike....how does the bypass valve work on the tankless heater? I'm thinking when you go to flush the unit...with vinegar ...that bypass valve needs to be closed or the only thing you're flushing is the bypass circuit. Am I correct? I think once you get the flush going...you power the unit up...the bypass closes....then just unplug it.

I have a Rinnai RU199 (not the RUR199) installed with an EXTERNAL recirculation pump. I assume there is no filter installation as you show with an RUR199 unit. All I need to do is to install the recirc valve at the right location and install the recirculation pump on the RU199 hot water discharge. Is this correct. Also, it appears you can wire the EXTERNAL recirc pump up to the Rinnai RU199 circuit to control the external pump from the unit.

Hey, I have a few quick questions I am having hard time confirming on my own. I am confused about how the boiler drain valve attaches without being in the way of isolation valve. I’m novice (am great at the application once I understand) and struggle with all these terms and of course some of these terms are hard to clarify with Google. Reading the diagram I see I need a 3/4” union. I looked at the isolation kit I have, and it looks like there is a union with it but I’m not sure if I should be creating a line from unit to isolation valve or if iso valve connects directly to unit. I’m assuming I’m confused because the diagram isn’t using the words “isolation valve.” I’m guessing boiler valve is isolations valve but I just can’t get a straight answer. Please help!

Mike, very informative video. Thanks so much for your knowledge. Question. I have a Rinnai RUR98 that is 5 years old and when the plumbers were out today to do yearly maintenance, they said they could not perform it because the valves were not working, they could not shut water off going to the unit. So, valves need replacing and they are wanting $650 to replace and maintenance. Sounds high to me. What valves would you recommend for replacement? The ones that were on it came with the unit and they were the longer ones you showed in your video.

Mike, you are awesome! I'm not sure where to ask this question cause you may have already talked about it in a previous show but is there a difference between a propane regulator and a natural gas regulator? I am installing a V53DeP on a 20-foot off-grid container that I will be using for a guest house or as we say here in Hawaii an 'Ohana'. I have a valve kit--sadly not the best one apparently but I guess it will work for a while. What I intend to do is simply use a propane bottle for the hot water heater and a small cook-top stove. Do you have suggestions on what regulator to use. Thanks in advance and I'll keep looking at some of your other videos cause maybe you went over this question. It seems like you cover just about everything. Aloha for now.
