His blasts are so on point it also plays the guitar.

What about the Mortician blast beat? When I heard Mortician's albums, I was blown away by how insanely fast the blast beat was. Then I found out it was a drum machine...until I saw a Mortician concert. Holy shit...I was double amazed by the fact they found a drummer that could throw down such crazy blast beats at superhuman speed.

I found it a bit tricky at first myself but once you can memorise what number corresponds to what drum hit it's a lot easier.

The stop and go blasts will always get me

I like how one of the things that connects the Dirk blast and the Hoglan blast, is that Gene and Dirk both played for Devin Townsend on some of his heaviest records.

I’m hearing so many of my favourite bands when I listen to these blast beats.

The traditional always sounds the best to me and has the most groove of all of them imo. Another one would be the Chris Pennie septuplet accented blasts like in the dillinger escape plan song Panasonic youth or any Dillinger song
