I think it was a good contrast. Foreman was obsessed with becoming a better doctor and thought he had to be like house to do it, but was afraid to be. Chase simply worked on himself and sharpened himself as a doctor, not being a complete jerk like house but adopting his methods. Chase was naturally better at absorbing what he was taught

Foreman saw the bad in the good things house did/does, without noticing he adopted both of them and he started to see only the bad things he "learned" from house, not because house didn't do any good, he saw the bad side of "will do anything to get the results" thinking he'd start to act that way in every aspect of his life. Meanwhile, we got the other side of the coin, Chase. He saw both things aswell, the good things and the bad things house did, he, slowly, adopted his humour, or maybe "Mold" his own humour around House's, then not only his humour, but then his personality and Medical morale. Chase molded himself around House, taking him as a base and tweaking things here and there to make him feel good with his own person, with who he became after sharing many years of his life with House. He took both the good and bad things and knew that sometimes one can't be without the other, but he was more human about it

Robert Thompson I think that’s the thing. Both are becoming more and more like House, but only of them has enough compassion to try and stop that. That’s the thing about jerks. Some recognize their behavior and try to change it, but others either see it and don’t care or don’t see it at all. I think that’s really good character writing for House’s teams.

My mother worked in a children's hospital throughout most of the 80's and she told me about the poisoning of several kids - this situation. The semi trailer overturned, the chemicals got on the pants, they were sold as-is at a steep discount and the parents that did not wash the pants had to haul their kids to the hospital. 7 kids were ill before word spread to wash the jeans. That story never left me so I was pretty pleased to see it addressed on the show 35 years later.

Eh, no different than a CIA agents operating on US land to help track down a terrorist. Sure, they could just call homeland security and do the legal thing but if they can save lives by violating laws, when they impede the saving of lives of course, then they can go ahead. There are always exceptions, specially when the law of breaking and entering was meant to protect your property and they really have no intention of stealing it. Guess this why juries judge crimes and we don't get a verdict from a computer replying guilty or not guilty.

If you actually watch the episode, the mother's actions make complete sense. First she trusts the doctors on two occasions which both lead to her son's condition to worsen. The first time they tried giving him hydralase they almost gave him the wrong one simply on the hunch that kid used a pesticide on his personal garden (which he didn't and the mother explained why he couldn't have done it). Then on the second time they thought they found the culprit based on a hunch (again) that somehow, only two kids out of like 30 on a school bus got pesticide poisoning during the bus route, gave him the wrong hydralase and worsened his condition. And on the third time they expect her to trust them?

I am confused and concerned about the general public. The episode clearly and concisely laid out the facts as you discussed. Yet, the fact that she ran out of trust after two bothched attempts at a cure, completely based on supposition...no corroborating data for support...somehow makes her a Karen. I think more disturbing are the more recent entries which put her into the anti-vaxxer camp. Someone initially willing to try anything to save her son becomes jaded after those attempts made him worse...hey...wait a minute...maybe they are correct. Ready for booster 5?

This episode made me wash every piece of clothing that I buy right the minute I got home even if it's not underwear. I used to think when I was a kid that supermarkets were clean and that I only needed to give underwear a good wash because... well. its underwear. The rest were ready for wear. This episode spooked me SO BAD I made it a habit to wash every piece of clothing at least twice before wearing it the first time. Even sneakers.

The dirt and germs is not the worst. It is all the chemicals that they use to make the fabric, and to allow for the high speed sewing and the chemical (unhealthy) equivalent of starch, etc (formaldehyd). Normally people are not poisoned (in this case it was a spill of pesticides), but even trying some garments on can give you a rash, and it can promote allergies. And do not forget pantyhoses (the dark colors are the worst and these dyes are not very stable. All pantyhoses are created white and then they are dyed (well all that are not made of cotton and the like - I mean the thin highly elastic "nylons").

@StuckDucks usually one or sometimes two washings are required to remove any excess dyes and/or chemicals, plus they usually have a starch additive so they don't wrinkle as badly, which is pretty itchy and can cause minor allergic response, but a dose of fabric softener will neutralize that.

See, when I was a teen, I just put three dryer sheets in a paper towel tube, then capped one end with another sheet and a rubberband, to exhale into. (Only worked with bowls/pipes though, as they didn't continually put out smoke) The parental units never caught on that I was smoking in the house, lol.

Both times I didn't wash my new clothes before wearing them I got issues. A pair of underwear gave me a rash for 3 days and a pair of pants gave me a rash for roughly a month. I still have a scar after 3 months but it will go away in roughly 6 to 9 months. My point is: wash your clothes people

Why do people think the mom is a Karen? She was right to refuse treatment the earlier times in the episode when the doctors' justification was bad, and then stopped cooperating when the team tried to emotionally manipulate her. She's actually a really well written character.
