Yes I remember when the BBC was staffed by people who could speak in an adult and entertaining way.

Lasted 9 months, and although the technology, sound and pictures were good, the choice was limited with just 5 channels. No wonder more and more people went for an Astra satellite receiver and dish, with reasonable picture quality, fair analogue stereo sound, and 16 channels. It was obvious who was going to walk away with the prizes. I would have thrown the IBA's D-MAC to the four winds and tried to copy Sky at it's own game by launching a 16 channel medium powered satellite using the cheaper D2-MAC transmissions, beamed purely over the UK, with 16 channels and you only need one encryption standard Eurocrypt S or M which simplifies encryption rather than a stack of unsightly decoder boxes under the the TV and VCR as you got with Astra.

I still wish we gad bsb tv now we have that sky shit.Sky has nothing to offer anyone but adverts and repeats.Mtv is a complete switch off tv now they have ruined it.All we have is movies but sky charge a fortune for it Cable at one time had the best of both worlds with all channels on all platforms but now its exacally the same as a satallite dish. Why not have decent channels on other satallites like hbo and other europe channels Virgin are awaste of time like sky.Come on cable do sthing worthwhile to make it at least watchable without having to put a dish up at 28.2 uk give us a chioce.
