Did You Know You Can Fit a Poncho And Poncho Liner(Ranger Roll) In A Molle II Waist Pack?

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video I will be describing how I keep my Poncho and poncho liner in a perfectly sized military issue bag that Mott not many people know about essentially you have a foul-weather survival kit

GI poncho and poncho liner (woobie) is referred to a 'Ranger Roll' or a 'Ranger Taco'. It's all many troops take out in the field if they're not burdened by SOP crap (carrying the MSS sleep system or combat shelters). Works well for moderate weather especially with a hammock which many people are finding better than a tent - if you have trees or vehicles to hang one from. Waist pack is one of the most useful pieces of mil-surp I have found - besides the poncho and liner. I wasn't sure they would stuff in waste pack so I Googled and now I do! I like to strap the waist pack under the MOLLE assault packs to expand load capability.

That is a good idea I was personally thinking of a stand alone waist pack but adding it to the 3 day assault pack is a great idea thanks for watching and commenting

@@wolfoutdoorreview Although the poncho and liner will stuff in the waist pack - having the waist pack filled with survival items and strapped to bottom of a bigger pack makes it a go to 'quick disconnect' if you need to 'bail' without the full pack. Lots of uses - I like the 'grab and go' or you could set it up for as a 'scout pack' after you drop the ruck and need to look around.

That definitely the way to go I have been camping wayyyy to many times spending a half hour walking around trying to find the ideal camping spot away from dead trees and ants etc having a patrol pack would definitely be the better option 🤣

I'll be damned. I was wrong. I was certain that there was room in the waist pack for precisely one poncho liner, and not one thing more. I attach the combo to the outside of my Alice Pack to carry the liner to supplement a lightweight sleeping bag. A really good setup is to carry essentials in the Alice But Pack on a battle belt, and attach this molle buttpack to he bottom of the Alice Buttpack. With battle belt mounted hydration, it makes a pretty light fast patrol setup.

The funny thing is I used the MOLLE II system for two years as an 0311 with 2/7, carried it almost every week, I didn’t know the butt pack was a Fanny pack till I turned it it and the clerk inspected it in front of me.

@@wolfoutdoorreview Everyone's gouging us on the Multicam/OCP pattern. I would like a waist pack in OCP as I have an assault pack in that flavor but I'm not paying half the price of the assault pack for one! Rattle cans can make UCP into OCP!

Or rit dye that works surprisingly well I used to have a uniform in apple green rit dye the Problem is if you want to have an entire setup it's ideal that you dye it all at once so it's all the same tone of dye because there's different factors that can make your dyed items stronger weaker shade of color causing you have slight variations in your uniform and equipment and to me it just looks bad so Ideally you l fill a cattle trough sized metal container with boiling hot water and throw everything all at once your uniform your molle equipment sometimes you can get away with goretex equipment your sleep system bivy etc and then it is in the most part the same color and if it doesn't Match your location you can add brown or grey or black or tan to fit your dominant environment

@@wolfoutdoorreview UCP actually works decent in my area - rock and brush. Dyeing nylon and Cordura is for other people who have time to iron clothes. Tell me how you dye OCP? I can rattle can it in an hour. FDE emphasis....stay in the trees.

Nice video ! I'd like to see someone snap three (3) ponchos together for a tent as per the instructions on the poncho label. I haven't seen anyone do that yet... I just ordered one of the waist/buttpacks to attach to the bottom part of my London Bridge molle vest with two sustainment pouches side by side above it. PRC 152 and miscellaneous pouches (IFAK, SAW, Canteen, K-Bar...) on the front. At 55 and back injuries from the service I can hump 25 lbs in a vest much easier than a regular rucksack
