@@Pongocity.I think the way it would’ve worked is that Lust isn’t necessarily a sexual desire, although it’s most commonly used in that context. Lust in its broadest term is just a strong desire, so you can have a lust for knowledge, lust for power, etc.

Yeah, lollygag sounds like a terrible idea. How do you represent lust while being asexual I do get that you can lust for non-sexual things, but like all subverting that does is make it harder to make the character represent lust because you’d have to make the character frequently lust for things that have nothing to do with sex

​@@Maxinestabile it think vivzi made her asexual because traditionally the other sins are portrayed by people indulging in them while lust is portrayed as a women being indulged by other people ( eg : escort s don't need to have desire themselves but are lusted upon) Im terriable at explaining but money ain't greedy cause its the thing thats supposed be desired so same goes for lust/s*x i guess? Lolygag would already have access to s*x anytime so she wouldn't nessarly desire it I think she would use other peoples lust to manipulate them but really does not feel anything towards them & only sees what she can gain from them Its a different take from the norm i it makes sense in my head

Plus it does get kind of annoying after a while of seeing multiple stories where they just tell you this person doesn’t like to indulge in sex because I’ve seen that story like 50 different times and I’ve never seen it subverted where it’s actually a person that likes to indulge in sex and isn’t doing so to cover up some sort of darker feeling, or for some sort of darker desire

I mean, the literal only time he espouses pure, unbridled Lust is at his nightclub, which is literally a place for Hell's denizens to have casual public sex if they wish...because they _want_ to, and are typically two consenting adults. Sure, he heckles Moxxie pretty brutally for singing a soppy, absurd little love song, but that's because that just doesn't have a place there, and is dragging down the vibe. He doesn't want to turn his clientele off. Every other time? We see him being intensely cuddly with Fizz, incredibly loving and gentle, always reminding him that things need to be his _choice,_ not because of his fans, or Mammon, or whatever. We see him loudly espousing the need for consent, and how he doesn't do things like love potions, because artificial want/desire is wrong and antithetical to his views on Lust: that it's about the journey and getting there, not about just diving straight in and satisfying one's carnal desires. That's not a guy talking about Lust, that's a guy talking about passion, in ways that are much closer to love than Lust. This is a guy who clearly understands when "No means _no."_ This is a guy who actively _hates_ being forced into a position to make robot sex-toys of the man he loves and cares about, rather than just caring about spreading Lust. Asmodeus might be a horny dude, as seen when he's watching Fizzarolli's performance at Mammon's big show and is clearly trying to hide his reaction as he blushes and ducks behind the curtains. But what we see isn't a guy who's all about nothing but Lust in everything he does, nowhere near on the level of Mammon's 24/7 "gimme, gimme, gimme" levels of Avarice, or Beelzebub's equally always-on "just keep makin' me that mf'in' honey!" vibe of Gluttony, as she serves up endless quantities of sugar, booze, and even Belphagor's drugs when she can get them.

I actually really like the concept of the sin of lust being Asexual, it’s such a juxtaposition to…everything. Also “lollygag” is a fantastic name for a sex demon

Same. I think the romantic aspects of lust are very underexplored in this sort of a context. So many people are fixated on sexual attraction as some sort of inherently more toxic and pernicious force than romantic attraction and I don't like that, because romantic attraction and extreme romance-focused compulsions can get just as crazy and destructive. The overall conflation of sex and romance by society masks where romantic attraction is a more destructive player than sexual attraction, and a romance-focused Lust character could be useful in unpacking that.

The Servamp of Lust has a lot of anxiety/insecurity with his demon but part of the initial arc is exploring further past the sexual aspects of lust and that love is just as much a part of what he represents So it's not the DESTRUCTIVE aspects of love/lust but it's another sort of exploration of another side of the "sin"

well that's operating on how a mortal mind would react to longevity. sure, if a regular person were to live for thousands and thousands of years their desires might become null, but there's no reason that a higher being such as a demigod or powerful demon should function based on our nature. Perhaps they can live as long as they want and still retain their passion and desire for ages, or maybe they only live for so long and are able to prosper in their current states *because* they consistently feed their own desires, and that explanation kind of also falls in line with what we see from Bee too.

The idea of the embodiment of lust being asexual is such an interesting concept. Like it sounds completely contradictory but done right it could make for a very unique character, plus you could get a lot of comedy out of that situation.

Indeed! The infantilization of ace people and lack of understanding of them as their own unique individuals with a full range of adult experiences and their own individual ways of relating to sex and romance in all sorts of areas of the asexual spectrum is a huge problem, and it's always bothered me how people always conflate Lust with sex/sexual attraction and see sexuality as automatically being more sinful and destructive than romance. As someone who has experienced limerance, overwhelming amounts of romantic attraction (or something adjacent to it), idealization of romance/true love, or compulsions around romantic ideals and rituals can be SO fucking crazy and destructive, and I think this aspect of things is SO underexplored within the concept of Lust. I guess as a society our conflation of sex and romance just tends to mask this because most people experience both of those attractions in parallel to some degree, and puritan religious values see sexual attraction as "The Real Problem" behind the toxic stuff when that's actually not necessarily always the case. I think categorizing destructively strong romantic attraction or limerance as somehow virtuous or neutral while categorizing the equivalent amount of sexual attraction as sinful is kinda biased. I prefer a more expansive idea of what Lust is because personally that makes more sense and is not as molded by puritan religious values and it personally helped me understand my own experiences better. My view is that Lust is all about idealization, dehumanization, and sexual or romantic objectification of others in service of selfish or self-destructive compulsive goals that don't actually solve your core problems/insecurities. In my opinion, there are promiscuous, extremely kinky, and ethically polyamorous allosexual (or sex-favorable ace) people who are WAY LESS lustful than some lovebomby narcissists or very chaste but romance-obsessed people who experience destructive limerant fixations where they want a limerant object they view through a very idealized, dehumanizing lens to fulfill them in ways that are unfair or humanly impossible. An asexual Lust character (or at the very least a romance-focused character) could be very useful in unpacking this.

I like to think that Lolygag is following the drug-dealers motto "don't get addicted to your own goods". I'm a weird case in that i am very much sex repulsed ( I think swapping bodily fluids should disqualify you from ever buying hand sanitizer again if there is ever a shortage). and also too smart to put my self esteem in the hands of another human being based on how happy i make them, (been burned before in entirely non-sexual relationships). But at the same time, in certain friend groups will still crack sex jokes if i think others will find it funny. When i was a kid, i was entirely innocent because i didn't have a tv or a lot of friends, so when i unknowingly said things that were innuendos, other kids made fun of me for it. I crack the sex jokes first now to make sure I'm not the but of it later. I just avoid that stuff when I'm alone. Genitalia are not as pretty as faces to me. I think people look more beautiful with clothes on. I feel there should be more activities that everyone can enjoy together without having to worry about age groups or familiarity or children or how people look at them naked. That's why I love gaming. Having the demon of Lust be asex and a total nerd resonates with me.

It's me. I'm describing me lol Completely sex repulsed, but have a guttural sense of humor, and a deep fascination with kink culture. Lust itself can also convey more than just sexual lust, so there's really a lot of different ways you can take a lust themed character!

I hate it in a way. I hate the idea of a lust demon (lust IS sexual attraction so asexuals cannot be lustful, lust and wanting or likint sex is completely different) being asexual as its almost like mocking us. I am a sex favorable asexual, i do like sex but Lust is based around sexual attraction and originally a harmful one that hurts those around (like being lustful isnt a sin unless you hurt others or yourself because of it, same with anh other sin) You can be "lustful" ig but you cant be littearly lust like the embodiment of it would be.

A lust for wealth is sin of greed, Fame is pride, recognition is envy or pride and power is sin of wrath, pride or lust depending on how/why like if you take it by force its wraith, if you think you deserve it its pride, if you bargin or trade for it its lust.

Also the demon of the sin of lust being somewhat Asexual makes perfect sense. The demons associated are supposed to be examplaries of the sins ie they are supposed to have committed them so infamously that they are forever tied to it and inflict it on the others as a source of power. In one story I heard, Lucifer being cast out of heaven was because he thought he knew better than God, therefore now he must prove his point. In the historical orgins of how these myth about demons came about most of them were associated with old ideas that more recently history we consider bad or for two of them were foreign things that were demonized. The sin of lust getting to the point of where they get tired of desiring sex and becoming asexual is completely believable but still making people do it bc thats how they have power.

Conveying lust through an asexual would be really tough, especially trying to get people who don’t fully understand asexuality and lust itself. I’m as asexual as they come and trying to explain that alone to some people is like trying to hammer a nail with a feather. When most people think of list they think more of hyper sexuality which we get with Ozzie and Fizz constantly being flirty and whatnot whenever they think they have a moment alone. Even they themselves depict that when Ozzie’s assistant comes in and they quickly act as if they were having a quick fuck. I would really like to see how they’d show asexuality in hell and am excited for Alistor as a confirmed asexual

On the one hand, lust in the original biblical texts is not just sexual desire, but a general want for things you are forbidden from. Lust for knowledge, lust for power, lust for violence, etc. and on the other hand, I guess the lords didn't CHOOSE o be in their position, so it's not always going to be a perfect match.

I was originally gonna do that for Lust of the emotion bringers (oc group of godlike beings who control everything's emotions) and have his sister Love be aromantic but I instead decided to give the asexuality to love too because she already has enough problems because her job is really important due to how important it is to have thing love their friends and family and her struggling to have people be romantically attracted to the right people anyway, meanwhile Lust it's not as important for him for do stuff, and while he can also do sexual attraction due to his being a counterpart to his sister, that doesn't take as much thinking and he often just messages around and makes people lust for the most random stuff and see what extreme things they'll do to get that, so Lust being asexual wouldn't have really had my original intended goal of "What if people who could control romantic attraction and sexual attraction couldn't feel those" being interesting due to his usually just working with lust to mess around most of the time and how most lust doesn't relate to anything sexual at all as it's definition has always just been an insane wanting of something to the point that you'd do ANYTHING to get it without common sense or care for anyone's safety. Though, if it helps, Lust IS on the ace spectrum though as he's demisexual and rarely takes the time to get to know anyone anyway so he rarely gets the chance to feel sexual attraction, though in the end Love's being aromantic is still the most interesting thing I have sadly. I would also love to have a lust-based character too, but I already have the emotion bringers and having more than one would be odd, but atleast I naturally associate groups of 6-7 with the seven deadly sins anyway so atleast with one of my groups of 6 the character who well fits lust is someone who just massively lusts for attention and validation to a point where she constantly hurts herself and others in an attempt to get it.

​@@PolskaQueen- I think they don't mean it strictly the way to portrait the Sin of Lust but gather just the idea of it and messing around to somehow make it work like an experienced Depends on the lore and world building It could be make as someone not sex repulse and would commit sexual act for the look as a representative of Lust despite not necessary feel it Or they feel the sexual desire but doesn't necessarily LIKE do it with other and rather do the act themselves It depends on how you understand what asexual is and not every asexual is the same It can be confusing and I guess it fun messing around the concept of it and to figure it out through experience with it

Actually I think it makes perfect sense. In my mind lust is the act of want, having sex isn't lust but the pull, urge, and the feeling of want is lust. She wants to be lusted after, constantly flirting and then pulling away people to build up the want. she basically brings the desire to the forefront so their inhibition weaknes. it much easier for the Incubus and succubus come in to "finish the job". They feed on the act and she feeds on the lust directed towards her.
