I had a similar moment. Back when hurricane Sandy hit I was working in Greenwich village in NYC. 2 days after the hurricane I returned to work. The subway was reopened in some downtown areas and I was determined to help the health food store owner I worked for. I got off the train at a station 10-12 blocks from my usual stop. Early morning but after sunrise. Every storefront/business was closed. No one around. Practically no cars or trucks or busses on the streets. Dead. It was truly a rare experience. As the day went on life started up again and many places were assessing damage and cleanup and traffic was minimal but present by midday.

Film crew worker here…I’ve done it before and it’s a giant pain in the ass.
This scene is much better in the original version
This movie is a trip
Power of tom cruise 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪💪💪💪💪❤️❤️
Which is also done for a Bollywood song Hey Shona
Reminds me of spring summer and fall 2020

People in the building wanting to smoke but can’t : 😢
This movie creeps me out and I like it
Tom cruise is soo cool 🇦🇺🇺🇸
If you walk through time square on New Year's day at 7am that's what it looks like.
This movie is from my friend Alejandro Amenábar. So good the original one (Abre los Ojos)
I'll visit The Times square of the covid time 2020 nobody's there. And I took a picture.👍
Danny Boyle securely a similarly shut-down parts of London for the zombie film, '28 Days Later'; for early scenes when the character Jim emerges from a hospital to find Britain completely engulfed by the rage infection. Weekends and early mornings seem to be best times for films to get their 'shut down moments' of course.
I remember working a Saturday at 11 till sunday 5 a.m. Times Square was empty, first time that I saw that and it was creepy. Also, although there wasn't any traffic a taxi and a car crashed right in front of me. Weird day.
That’s gotta be the rarest thing to do. Time Square all to yourself.
I doubt this would be able to happen now. That's insane they were able to then even.
Ya. This was a very well publicized event when the movie first came out. It was all over pre-release media that they actually shut down Times Square to shoot the scene. Awesome but commonly known bit of trivia.
"Did you know that I'm gonna make all this shit up"
AWESOME SAUCE CAMERON CROWE!!
It also means there won't be any Rocky Balboa from NY
That looks like alice in borderland-
I figured as much, same with Devil’s Advocate ending.
What Cameron Crowe did: Shuts down New York What Christopher Nolan would have done: Rebuilds a life size exact replica of New York
This is exactly what it looked like every Sunday morning during covid 😂😂😂
Last time Hollywood did that we got the line “I’m Walking Here!!!”
I knew it had to be real because no one could digitally recreate an environment with that level of reality back then, nor could they remove people in post production with anywhere near that kind of result. There was never any doubt. It wasn’t that long ago but I’m terms of cgi it was.
Imagine being one of those small businesses. :/
we were there this summer onna sunday morning, from sun up till 9:00 am, no one is there
Traffic in nyc went wild
