Did You Know Drinking Increases the Risk of Heart Disease in Women? - New Study

Alcohol Raises Heart Disease Risk, Particularly Among Women
In this brand new study from Kaiser Permanente the researchers show for the first time evidence of increased heart disease risk in men and women who drink alcohol. The risk increases as the frequency and amount of alcohol is increased. Let's review.

Dear Dr. Been I am Reza Ranjandish and a neuroscientist at ETH Zurich. Regarding the video you made for MS after COVID Vaccine, I was the patient who the study was done on him. I made a video in my channel. It was a huge mess for my life. Funnily I pushed the medical doctors and finally I met Prof. Martin and he accepted to do the study on me. It's been 3 years I am fighting against Switzerland authorities because of their negligence and I really need everyone's support.

Triglicerides and LDL climb with alcohol use. Interestingly my sleeping heartrate averages 10 bpm higher after just one glass of wine hours before bed. It is 100% consistent. After qutting alcohol for a month I had standard blood tests and triglicerides and LDL levels dropped substantially, into normal range. Also blood pressure dropped by 10/10.

Still, intake of all foods and lifestyles must be recorded for a definite causal connection with percentages. Did drinkers do less physical activity? What was consumed alongside the alcohol? Was a1c tracked? So many unknown variables here. What do alcoholic drinkers eat? What were the non alcoholic drinkers drinking? What kind of alcoholic drinks? Were the drinks straight shots or were they mixed drinks with Coke? Was it beer or wine or whiskey? How many occasional drunken intakes with nothing inbetween?

Please add to it how many drinkers got the jab compared to non-drinkers. I suspect that drinkers are less concerned about what is being injected into them. Sorry... I just noticed you said it was in 2014... Still... Were drinkers less concerned about health overall? @@DrBeenMedicalLectures

Question has to be: Is it causal? I can imagine people drinking high ammounts up to binge also have bad eating habbits. For me it's more likely that this is the cause than alkohol itself.

@DrBeenMedicalLectures that’s why I have the idea of a raised drinking age(from 21 to 25) because alcohol is such a harm and distraction for high school and college students! It’s basically a nonsense

One extra aspect to consider is sleep quality, Women are twice as likely to have insomnia. Knowing that lack of sleep significantly increases risk of heart diseases, maybe this explains why there is the difference we can see at 9:50 So, it is not only that the doctors should talk more about the risk of heart issues connected to drinking, they should talk about sleep habits as well right?

A lot of Alcohol is not healthy. But the drinks for women includes a lot of sugar and fructose, making the situation even worse.

Luckily I‘m not at all friends with alcohol;) I felt so bad from just a few sips so I decided to not drink alcohol at all anymore years ago ( after a few teenage rebellion nights;))

This is interesting. I wonder if the increased prevalence in women could be in part fue to the types of drinks as well. I wonder if women are more likely to drink wine and spirits with mixers rather than beer.

Enjoying life in general increases your risk of heart disease. Especially when our food sources are being fooled around with, like today.

Correct. However, this doesn't show the prevalence in various cohorts. That's the data that's interesting.

Wait, hold my beer... those categorical figures describe wimps and lightweights. Need to add another character that can be me wearing a cape while in a 2 fisted stance holding a couple of Truly seltzers. That can be me, Super Binger 💪🍹🦸‍♀️🍹💪 If non drinking women were not included, how are they to know how many developed heart disease from diabetes, obesity, smoking or cad? Do they realize folks self reported numbers are a little off? I am an organ donor and my family knows that they will not want my liver. Was the alcohol type had the most ill effects? You know who drinks the bottom shelf handles of vodka or gin because they look like they are pickled. I fill a big cup full with ice, pour a White Claw and by the time I finish, it's so watered down its like adult flavored water. Plain water is super boring, I don't drink soda, juices, coffee or tea after work, stopped the wine, can't stomach a beer anymore (no beer, that deserves a lifetime achievement award) and I can't tolerate the fake sweetners in little bottles of water enhancers. Whats left? I don't like being asked, judged then labeled so I zip it for that very reason. I quit smoking Oct 21, 2001. IMO, binging on watered down white claws is better than if continued smoking the past 23 years

Isn't the national average for chd 6 to 7%? If so then everyone in the study benefited, just that women benefited less. Not getting the "Alcohol Raises the risk..." part of the title I guess.

Valuable topic. TY. Similar evidence for it and breast cancer in women. Know serving sizes which many think are more then they are. ; ) Also it’s a drug (effects CNS) and while not metabolized into glucose does significantly effect blood sugar levels. Eat food before or during that will stabilize blood sugar (not brownies Lol.)

This is the worse presentation I have ever seen on this channel. First, the charts themselves show binge as 3+ for men, even though a previous chart showed 4+. Secondly, binge drinking isn’t daily use, it’s very little or no use for let’s say weekdays, and extreme use at parties or social engagement. Binge drinking has always been known to be the worst because consistent drinking enables a tolerance which comes about by metabolism of alcohol. Men metabolize alcohol quicker than women, for various reasons. And perhaps the worst failure in this study was to not control for metabolic efficiency which is better for those who exercise more and have lower weight, and other metrics associated with health. This is like the govt studies on saturated fat which were not controlled for carb consumption. And carb consumption focuses the liver on fat creation and reduces the conversion of small particle cholesterol to large partly or HDL. Also the kind of alcohol consumed matters, and much red wine is high in antioxidants and low in sugar. However some people are addicted sweet wines, as well as sweet mixed drinks. Some beers are high in carbs. A simple presentation shows a one size fits all study, which is woefully inaccurate. It’s the same sort of misinformation that motivated unnecessary measures for COVID. Each person is an individual.
