Did you not see the warp in the tires when it was sitting on dry land after the unsticking? Pressure was extremely low. I'm no expert by any means, but I'm actually thinking they were TOO low. In all the other vids I've seen of these beasts, they're much firmer and I'm wondering if it would've been more buoyant and worked through the mud more like as if it were in straight water and therefore the machine wasn't able to operate as designed.

Brent Reeve Generally, the concept is that increasing your footprint (lower pressure) will lower ground pressure and allow more of the tire to grip. Usually it works well. But for this vehicle, your theory may be correct, or there's an ideal pressure that gives the perfect balance of buoyancy and footprint for clay like this. I'm not expert, either. The low pressure works extremely well in snow tho. I've got to ride with my grandpa, who runs a Jeep with guys who air down to 2-4 pounds of air, if not leaving them uninflated if they have beadlock wheels, and driving them over 5-10 feet of snow. They have such low ground pressure, that they can glide across the surface of the snow without sinking in. Neat stuff.

Way I see it- if you're movin then you ain't stuck!!! Lol

Great video! Mrs Osta did really well. We can all give advice saying she should have aired up or down while sitting in an armchair, it would be totally boring if the Sherp or anything else breezed through or over obstacles. Куда его еще ниже спускать ,там покрышки и так просели ,просто по такому говну ему трудно ездить ,дно плоское с положительной плавучестью ,из за этого нет давления на грунт так как машина просто гребет и барахтается по поверхности и ей не за что цеплятся ,лол

@@mitia456 В том, что у Шерпа нет поворотных осей. Он поворачивает как гусеничная техника - тормозя правую или левую половину колёс. Если он застрял, то сам он уже не выберется.

I have never heard of one getting stuck! Well I guess you could slowly have got out of it like you mentioned.

Goes anywhere... sometimes a winch makes it go anywhere faster! That is one impressive machine!

That muck was so thick it caused suction to that flat bottom, and was trying to hold you in place. Great videos, hey are a lot of fun to watch.

Things a beast reminds me of my Honda 200x ATV 3 wheeler with Wheelie boogers on the back when racing I put flat tracks on the back but for playing I'd put the wheelie bloggers on LOL

Have to give it a thumbs up those Sherps are so cool. But I don’t know if it’s because I live in desert and off road there and the mountains but I just don’t get this running in the mud thing. Expensive rigs and burying them in the mud.

Думаю, что тот, кто управлял Шерпом, не использовал все возможности машины по неопытности. Не спустил давление перед жижей в шинах, не чередовал передний и задний ход, не иметировал понижайку короткими нажатиями на педаль газа, не пытался повернуть влево-вправо. Вобщем, дело не в Шерпе, а в том, кто в кабине.

Водитель не опытный пока, знаний не хватает ещё. 1. Нужно спустить шины перед тем как лезть в суглину или болото. 2. Включить блокировку принудительно! 3. Если уж не спускать шины, то нужен небольшой разгон и ни в коем случае не останавливаться на полпути и не отпускать газ, а давить до пола. 4. Если всё же застрял, то нужно не просто ехать вперед, а раскачивать машину влево вправо, назад вперед. Так шансов больше. Удачи!

Шины были спущены, это видно после того как его выволокли. С блокировкой не ясно - мне показалось, там управление как у гусеничной техники, двумя рычагами - левый ход и правый ход, а не педаль газа и руль.

1. Спустить можно и после. 2. Тут постоянно жесткий привод. 3. Газ давить нельзя, ехать надо внатяг. 4. Если умудрился посадить Шерп включи первую убери ногу с газа и не мешай ему выезжать :))) Конечно у меня не такой большой опыт вождения Шерпа всего 1100 мото часов.

@@sledleo изначально водятельница прогребла одной стороной тем самым зарыла ее, потом сразу же второй....и все, закопалась.....надо было максимально стравить шины на берегу и полный газ, без поворотов -- шерп бы прошел.

I would have been curious to see how an 8 wheel argo with escargo tracks would have faired in the same hole.

All the weight of the mud on those tires making them look flat lol texas clay still isnt as bad as the coal sute in pa that black sute will have you barried and impossible for the tires to clean out and you just keep sinking its bad

Please explain, what was wrong, the tire pressure? The perfect mud? What should we do to for quicker escape from similar trap?

The weakness of the sherp. breaking tires to steer. If that thing was articulated it would manage this better. Would make it very complicated and it would be a huge structural weak point tho... It would also make it very tippy.
