I knew the outcome before even clicking start. You can’t beat the sherp. It made 3 world records in one trip! It’s a damn beast. It can float with or without its tires. It can inflate and deflate the tires for different terrain. It stores 15 gallons of fuel in each wheel. It has a dummy proof drive system so you can’t destroy the transmission. It has chain drives for easy fixing. It’s just purpose built! It’s perfect

What’s crazy to me is how in such a short period of time, the “Original” Sherpa has been either duplicated or tweaked by so many drivers/builders.

tech relatively simple, get an old BOBCAT drive and engine, the rest is easy and cost of new Sherp in US, about $65,000, if talented with tools, engineering and hands, can build for no more than $30,000

All of these vehicles came with the advent of low-pressure tires. Only one factory produces these tires. And these vehicles have nothing to do with Sherp except wheels

@@brians48now buy a used Bobcat, there's your entire Drivetrain, that $7,000, tires, rims, $10,000, so that leaves $13,000 grand for fabrication, in one's garage, easily attainable

The sherp is just a giant version of my dads 2 stroke Suzuki Jeep we had back in the 80 no suspension could take it any where,we called it the ring a ding

That sucks! Who won? And how many sherps were in this race? These are the types of vehicles I dreamed about having when I was young. A vehicle that would take me anywhere I wanted to go. ❤️

I'm really disappointed in the extreme trail, some of these guys barely had to slow down.

@@derek6044 what argument is no suspension meant to be? Those tyres are the suspension. Doesnt look like it can't climb. Wonder what a lockable bar, like on dragcars, could do to improve that.

Was thinking about the design its pretty genius really large wheels close together always make contact with the ground and no where to get hung up in the middle its one bad ass machine

SHERP FAR SUPERIOR OVER ALL OF THE REST. Has a smart chain drive manual system instead of a hydraulic type transmission. This is so crucial in the event of a breakdown in the Artic North. The Sherp has on board stored full set of self repair tools inc extra chain links in case of a break. Heating with 2 other back up heat sources systems in case of engine shut down. Sips gas able to drive over 20 hrs continuously.

Reminds me of 'Mighty Mo' toy trucks when I was a kid.

Sherp is ATV too. It is ATV class vehicle. Lishnik, Shaman or Trekol probably can be better, cuz they are 4×6 vehicles. They all have 6×6 additional.

I think all of them are truly awesome vehicles but would like to see them take on "virgin" trails in geographically austere environments.

Did the sherp of the one hat looks like the sherp that picots in the middle have better time?? The internet wants to know. The 4 wheeler like one is cool but I'd want a roll cage .

If ive taken anything away from this... Articulated ATVs are at a major disadvantage due to steering. And thoes wardens with their Go-Pros take their job VERY seriously.

can these things drive on water tho?

That course doesn't look very challenging. I could get on my Yamaha Raptor 700 and outrun everyone on that course if that doesn't work we'll get on my CRF 250 Honda dirt bike I am beat everyone's time on that course

No that course doesn't appear very challenging at all, in fact with just a couple spots that look a little tough for it I betting I could drive my bone stock F150 4x4 on plain old all season tires thru that course without doing any damage or getting stuck, of course I've been driving for 40+ years now and a bunch of it has been off roading in a jeep and other vehicles like it all over the country as well on atv's like a 700 grizzly, and like the other guy here talking about a 700 grizzly, yes anyone with any experience at all on a grizzly should be able to make it through this course without even using 4 wheel drive, there is no mud no real long steep hills or seriously off camber sections for any distance, no snow, no deep loose sand, nothing other than a couple boulders to skirt around and some larger than normal gravel in a couple spots, nope not much of a course at all very lame actually, and after watching it 5 times now there is only maybe 3 spots on the whole thing that would give my stock F150 any trouble, there is a road of 6 miles long that is as bad, or worse, for nearly the entire 6 miles, that I have gone up to fish the lake at the top of , my bone stock F150 has been up and down many times (it's driver not the machine when it comes to this stuff), the road goes from about 4000 feet elevation to the top of the mountain at a place called buffalo hump where hump lake is located at 8000+ feet elevation, this is in Idaho (called hump lake road) look it up as buffalo hump Idaho on youtube it's worth the watch.
