And he also took her to the vet relatively early (especially during COVID) and paid money to get her treatment/tests which he never posted about publicly for 3 years until now when a podcast clip went viral. I feel like if he wanted clout then he would have made this a big deal at the time when it happened. I understand him going public now because she even admitted that she messaged him and had a strong hunch it was him so he wanted to get his side of the story out there before she made more TikToks. I know Ethan can have really annoying takes sometimes but it was sad to see Hila become so dismissive and didn't want to entertain Olivia's thoughts about it.

Hila, the cat died in his care but was DYING in her care for months.

nah jacob is a monster. I applaud him for coming on the show but frankly he fucked up. he took the cat without communicating, lied to her, took so long to take the cat to medical care, and frankly his reasons fucking suck as he felt the cat was malnourished. He could've easily addressed the issue within the house but chose to be so drastic and manipulated the situation. I frankly agree that they grilled hard on him. No apologies needed.

The truth is that she probably loved her cat but was simply too young and irresponsible to care for it properly. I remember crying and being so sad as a kid when I literally killed my goldfish. It’s like that but milder.

The way Hila almost got the point only to miss it entirely is mind blowing. "If you steal my pet and it dies in your care I'm COMING for you" - YES, if you're a caring guardian who doesn't neglect and abuse your animal, this is what you do. That is not what Rheagan did, though. Olivia, good on you! I felt physical pain listening to this.

IDGAF if you cried once or 500 times or 0 times, the only truly valid way to love a being that is 100% dependent on you is to actively seek their well-being. If that is not taken care of, nothing else matters.

As a vet tech in a shelter, the fact that she NEVER took seven to a vet for a baseline (when the shelter definitely told her to do that) was where she fucked up in the first place. She clearly neglected the cat for the months she spent preoccupied with her content and partying and breakup. It’s so obvious she neglected her, EVEN if it had an underlying condition. Please apologize to him. He did his best. He was young, too.

fr. My cat is perfectly healthy and I took him to the vet within a couple weeks of getting him just to make sure. Owning a cat that get sicks regularly over a period of months and never taking it to the vet is crazy. Cats don't get sick like that. 100% neglected.

When i adopted my dog I didn’t think to take her to the vet for a baseline check. HOWEVER, whenever I notice she’s acting weird I always take her and im poor af. This wealthy influencer isn’t taking any accountability and redirecting the blame off her.

Really wish Olivia felt more comfortable speaking her mind, because during that post-call discussion she is the only one taking a fair and unbiased position and she gets barked at by Hila and is forced to shut it down. Thank you Olivia for saying what everyone was thinking the entire time they grilled THE ONLY PERSON WHO SHOWED CARE FOR THE CAT.

Olivia was the only one that was right, but she didn't want to upset Hila. Hila was so bent out of shape comparing the cat to a child and calling the guy a creep for stealing it. The guy was wrong for that, but then calls the guy an incel for feeling some type of way about the girl going to a party the night her cat disappeared? That's ridiculous, if u love your pet you won't be out partying while it's out lost, cold, scared, potentially getting ran over, bit by a dog etc... The way the show started it seemed like they knew the girl was in the wrong, but when she showed up they switched up and Ethan the clever businessman that ponders to his audience (mainly women) decided to delete common sense, wildly speculate and shit on the man.

Glad to know Olivia was def trying to get Hila and Ethan to understand this was actual abuse, while they tried to argue that he stole it for no reason. The cat was already dying, the vet gave him all that not because it was routine, but bc of the horrible condition the girl left Sevyn in, poor dude was just trying to save the cat and y'all crucified him. Love the show but this was a definitive L.

Olivia isn't my favorite cast member but I felt so bad for her in this episode. She was so correct but Hila was wild in this episode and Olivia can't speak her kind to not upset Hila and get some sort of retaliation.

Wow I have never seen Hila and Ethan go so wrong and make such bad points. A cat doesn’t go from ‘completely healthy’ to ‘dead’ in a few days without the cat being sick beforehand. I made an appt just the other day for my pet and it took 4 days. You guys have no idea what you’re talking about. You also just kept straight up misinterpreting and saying things like ‘he waited for days to take the cat to the vet’ no he said he booked the vet appt immediately and the next one was in a few days. You guys are so wrong on this one huge L .

As an Animal Tech, hearing some of Ethan and Hila’s takes were upsetting to hear. It may seem simple to tell the owner how bad it is, but usually they don’t want to hear it since it’s usually taken as an insult to caring for their pet. Her not taking her cat to the vet herself after months of having the poor thing suffer is neglect. Neglect is abuse.

She had the cat for 4 months and moved multiple times in that short time frame. The cat never got used to one environment before it got ripped out and put into another. The cat was ALREADY STRESSED since she had left the adoption centre plus the motherfffff bacterial infection she had. Jacob taking her didn't kill her, the vet already wanted to put her down because she was too far gone

i’m actually shocked and so upset with how you treated jacob. You don’t take an animal to an emergency vet is situations like this, you make an appointment. As someone who is a shelter worker and constantly deals with sick/neglected/abused animals I couldn’t finish the episode. I was really shocked how hostile Hila became and how she defended the girl who obviously did not properly care for the cat for 4 months. No cat suddenly dies in 4 days. It was those months of neglect that got her to that final condition. And as was said she didn’t even seem to care very much when the cat was gone!! The takes towards the end of this ep made me feel sick.

She said the cat was constantly sick (The video with her boyfriend saying "you need to stop being sick all the time") and neer once took it to the vet or even called an actual vet 3. The cat was about 40-50% of the weight that a healthy cat is. It was like an adult women being 65 pounds. This doesn't happen in a few days rather than a few weeks. So she watched the cat drop weight and did NOTHING 4. The cat didn't have water/food when it was found 5. The vet wanted to euthanize the cat when it was finally brought to the vet. This is literally the last resort

Could not believe they were going so in on him…when Dan said that the guy was just a young kid with good intentions and basically didn’t have a good enough head on his shoulders to communicate about the malnourished cat I felt that was spot on. He didn’t go about it perfectly but he is human and by interventions like this one is how people learn. Sevyn would’ve ended up dying in the girls care either way and should’ve been taken to the vet regardless way earlier on. It’s outright obvious that something was not right with the cat even if it was like that from the jump. This was not cool at all. Jacob was willing to call in and never got defensive. And around Covid time it WAS HARD TO GET IN TO ER VETS! I was turned away from an ER vet while my dog was seizing because they were full. And trying to say he was in love with her? Weird you guys. Really weird. Also a cat doesn’t lose 40% of their body weight in 4 days. Hila was so upset about how he took the cat she couldn’t see the real issue. Just really uncool behavior, completely based on feelings and your made up theories. Her cat was sick for months and she never took the cat to the vet. He took the cat as soon as he could and yall demonized him for it.

Totally agree. It was SO insane to insinuate he was in love with her or that in the 3.5 days that it's possible for a cat to lose 40% of its body mass. Even Jacob said she ate a bit. Even humans who don't eat for a bit don't lose that much weight... but you know what humans do lose a lot of weight at a short period of time? People who are sick... with underlying health conditions, such as the patients I see who have cancer or other health problems.

If it was necessary to take the cat from it's owner then it is also necessary to take the cat to the ER vet immediately. "Oh look a dying cat. I think I'll take it to my friends house, yeah that will heal it." Did he report her to animal control or the police? How many other cats has she let starve in the years since that she would not have been allowed to adopt had he reported her? He did no good in this situation.

@@robmanjSo you didn’t listen to every single time he mentioned that he didn’t take it to the ER because he thought the cat was just in need of food and water because it looked malnourished. He wanted to wait for an actual appointment so the cat was given time for a true diagnosis rather than waiting hours and being possibly rushed through, brushed off, and it possibly turning out to be what he thought it might’ve been. And once he did get the cat in, he did what he could. The cat isn’t suddenly going to be deemed malnourished from 4 days being under his care. It had BEEN malnourished.

You guys took every opportunity to attack a person that was doing his best to save an animal. When he points out she misspoke a date by two days, you guys said that the two days wasn’t that big of a deal - but when it’s four days between getting the cat and taking it to the doctor suddenly that’s “damning”? That’s four days of rescuing a cat, organizing taking it to the vet discretely, and getting an appointment all within a week. He’s a kid, could have anxiety or rejection sensitivity, but you’re shaming him because he didn’t somehow know the perfect standard you guys would hold him to three years later? Terrible takes. It would be one thing to say, “He probably should have done ‘x’ so he’d have proper evidence,” but I’m assuming he wasn’t planning on being in this spotlight so stacking up a case to deal with controversy wasn’t on his mind. Ethan is really stupid. It’s super frustrating. An 18 yo party girl adopted a high maintenance sickly kitten from the animal shelter & brought the kitten to a party house. She 💯 neglected that cat. She didn’t do a vet visit during the 4 months of owning a sickly kitten. She committed a crime: animal neglect & crew pivoted to blaming the kidnappers. The kidnappers did the right thing in this situation. Confronting an 18 yo influencer is risky. She could have doubled down.

By the time he got to the vet, the cat was READY to be put down. How could Hila question whether she'd been neglected??? He spent all kinds of money on tests for the cat as well which shows far more effort than Rhegan ever put in to care for her CLEARLY. What a weird L episode, and justice for Jacob bc that cat was clearly suffering under horrible care LONG before the vet visit. That much is SO clear, and to give Jacob shit about waiting in line at the emergency vet like those few days had any difference after months of clear neglect.....like what are we doing here..

With peace and love I think Lena handles most of their dogs’ vet appointments. I don’t think they personally take them to most appointments. If they did, Ethan wouldn’t have classified dewormer as “maintenance medicine” that’s given at most vet visits. Instead he would know that it’s only common for puppies/kittens or if a pet is showing signs of worms, like diarrhea/lethargy/actual worms in their stool. So infuriating.

Olivia was correct but was afraid to speak her mind because Hila was intimidating her. Hila is wild in this episode, calling the guy an incel because he's emotional because the girl is neglecting her cat and when it goes missing she doesn't care? He should not have stolen the cat, but the girl never actually loved her pet.

You have had literal racists and sexists on your podcast (wayne diamond and yes jimmie lee) while knowing that they'd act that way and gave them more grace and curtesy than jacob recieved. I know Ethan and Hila are sensitive about pets but frankly the way you treated a kid who at 18 years old tried his best to save a cat (and yes could be communicated better at the time) was frankly rude and unfair. He called in and did not get defensive. Genuinley, he deserves an apology.

I know the exact moment/reason why Ethan decided to jump from Jacob to Rhegan’s side. AB kept giving warnings throughout the first half that anyone that went against Rhegan got the brunt of her and her fans’ anger. Then when she joined the chat. This triggered Ethan, and he was so scared of getting cancelled by being on the wrong side, that he ultimately chose the wrong side 🙂

EVEN further, when my cat was in his old age, he had a tumour that exploded inside of him and he didn't show any symptoms until literally a week before he passed away. We took him in as soon as we realized something was wrong, but that's the issue with people thinking that cats don't need as much attention or care because a lot of cats aren't very vocal when they're hurting. My cat was still running around when he had a tumour until the week before. The DNA of the Housecat is still majority wild cat, They like to deal with stuff on their own and that's why you have to pay extra attention to them just like you would a dog. Bye

As someone who never comments, y’all need to delete this episode.

I hope this guy sees how much the comments support him. He didn't do everything right, but he was young and made a poor judgement out of compassion. We have literally all made dumb decisions while young with our hearts in the right place. Props to being villainized by Hila and Ethan and keeping his cool the whole time, I would have cried and hung up lol.

Nothing he did was dumb. He did more for that cat than she ever did. Obviously times were more strict with the Covid stuff, he did what he could. She couldn’t care less. Ethan and hila are assholes

Ethan, Hila, and the crew owe Jacob a big apology. They spread so much disinformation about Jacob, his relationships, his intentions, and his actions that they ended up confusing themselves with the timeline and the actual events that took place. It was so sad to watch them fumble for hours. Over 5 months, Rheagan didn't take an already sickly-looking cat to the vet; watched in diarrhea, seize (as we saw in vids posted while it was in her care), and waste away; and brought it to live in a crazy environment where it lost an owner (ex-bf), was in a loud party environment, and changed room environments often. And they dare insinuate Jacob is more at fault? The guy had the cat for 3.5 days while the neglectful owner watched the cat starve and get infected to death over months. There is one clear animal abuser here, and if Rheagan had done LITERALLY anything, it wouldn't have gotten to this point. If anyone abuses an animal, they don't deserve to have one in the first place. The show used its platform to humiliate, harm, and spread mis- and disinformation. They need to take apologize and take accountability for their actions.

Jacob abused that cat too - Rhegan just did it for a longer period of time. Wouldn't you take a cat in that condition to an emergency vet clinic? Or listen to the vet when he said she should be euthanized? How could you just watch the cat slowly die over days?

No one's opinion on this is going to bring this poor cat back to life. This weird chronically online behavior of getting all upset & angry for not seeing this issue the same as you is so odd to me. I've never been so disgusted by her, truly. She's nearing 40 and can't comprehend taking a neglected animal out of a horrific situation? She can't understand how looking at an animal for 5 seconds could prove that the animal is extremely neglected? Haha! One glance at an animal can show that it is neglected! In fact, if it takes that fast to determine an animal needs immediate intervention, then it needs immediate intervention!! And then, as Hila doubles down, Ethan begins to agree with her. It's insane to me.

Yessss this episode is the first massive L I’ve seen Hila take

Just wanted to let some more steam out because, with peace and love, this was the worst episode I've seen recently: The criticism the guy received for trying his best to handle a difficult situation from 3 years ago was unfair and some comments were really uncalled for. While taking the cat was wrong, it was probably already in poor condition and would've died quicker if nobody took action. In fact, we might not have even learned of this issue as it would have been swept under the rug. The focus should also be on the person who had the cat for months before. Blaming 4 days of inaction over 4+ months of (alleged) neglect is unreasonable. From the start, her behavior was suspicious. Her calmness about the pet’s disappearance, despite being accused of its death, seemed odd. She appeared more annoyed that people were bringing up the cat than distressed. She wouldn't even confirm if the videos were showing her cat. Like wouldn't she know if it's her cat or not? Her emotions only surfaced when people began confirming the rumors via Jacob's statement, making her seem guilty (for me). Additionally, the romance theory is irrelevant and distracts from the real issue of responsibility for the cat's condition. It has no bearing on who was at fault and only muddles the discussion about the cat’s care and eventual death.

I totally didn't get it either when they were saying the cat was better off to stay with her. If i was in his shoes, and i believed the cat was being neglected, I would take them for sure. They will be better in my home that's unfamiliar to them, but at least the cat won't get neglected there 😭

​@@blaneyblogs172 bro seriously? It was on the vet receipt... it showed the neglect. Seven was given strong antiparasitic drugs. Btw it's SUPER obvious when cats have worms in their stool. While it's normal "routine" to give a kitten a dewormer when at the shelter, it is not normal for a kitten her age (9 months) to get worms. Especially if it just lived in her room the whole time. Usually, shelters recommend adopted cats to be on dewormer for the first week at home and see a vet after the first week (at least that's what happened when I adopted cats). She clearly did neither. Also, they have the cat on medication for roundworm, which is a strong medication. Seven was also on antibiotics, received a vitamin b12 shot, AND gave a high calorie paste that they give to MALNOURISHED CATS. Also malnourished cats don't happen in 3.5 days... it happens for a long period of time. This is the evidence of LONG neglect. Not from a dude who had the cat for 3.5 days. He was saving her from the neglect. The cat was 3.8 lbs.. a normal weight for that cats age is no where near that. That's crazy. The can't lose that much weight in the span of the 3.5 days Jacob had the cat. That's LONGTERM NEGLECT. So crazy that in the face of all of these facts, they shit on him and not the one that caused the abuse and neglect

It isn’t fair that he got guilt tripped when he clearly cares deeply for animals to the point that he felt like he needed to intervene.. yet little miss “young and naive” got off scot free .. the whole thing was obviously traumatizing for him considering he wanted to keep it off the internet and forget it happened.. then you throw salt in his wounds and blame him for something he tried his hardest to avoid happening.. that’s enough to send someone into a depressive spiral 😩😭

So attacking him for assuming that he didn’t want to wait in line at urgent care but he still made the effort to get an appointment and took it to the vet. That is more effort than whatever she did. Damn. His mind was in the right place but the execution was not. Crazy how both Ethan and Hila switched up on this whole situation.

I watch every single episode and am hardcore family but the way Ethan and Hila treated Jacob was really hard to watch… they absolutely grilled him rather than hearing him out and were more condescending and harsh than they have been to some actual POS they’ve had on. Did he handle it the best way possible? No, he’s clearly a dumb teenager (throwback to Ethan’s behaviour at a much older age) but he seemed to at least care about the cat and she showed on multiple occasions that she didn’t. Sorry but I agree that if you lock your cat in a room and don’t leave water, idgaf if it was 5 minutes and clearly it was actually longer, don’t feed the cat properly, it’s animal abuse and they should be taken away from you.

I don’t think I have left my cat without water in any second of her 8 year life. Even leaving the home with *little* water in the bowl is unthinkable to me. My mindset is that it should always be more than enough in case I for example get in an accident and she is left there for days without someone noticing.

Exactly. They sell cheap automatic gravity feeders for food / water if time is REALLY so important that you can’t take any to make sure this animal has all it needs to be happy/safe while you aren’t there.

Neglect IS abuse. Sevyn was suffering. She did not receive the care she deserved. For euthanasia to be the ONLY humane option means Sevyn was SO SICK from being neglected that not even medical intervention could help. - a veterinarian

Not necessarily from neglect… yes that sick enough. But the vet papers don’t say neglect or malnutrition nd what vet type seperate notes. You as the owner ALWAYS get a copy about it. The different name? Wouldn’t the vet say something about malnutrition and keep them overnight or not surrender it to the owner for safety??!!

Its almost like she liked doesnt like any animal that isnt hers. A cat can take weeks to deterioate in health. How does she not understand that after Shredder? I cant believe the crew turned on that kid, who was just trying his best. They owe him an apology. Especially after calling him an incel. What a reach.

Sure, it’s sad that the cat died. But why are you spending hours speculating if maybe these young people were in love or not. L episode
