My mom and GF saw my neighbors Cat once. It was so old and crippled. Skinny too. They almost took it to the vet no questions asked. Sometimes people just stop taking care of their pets. This guy is normal he tired to save the cat. Why hate on that m. Most cats have thyroid issues when they get old. Bad take.

They were NOT downplaying her abuse. If Rhegan was being interviewed, they would have been asking her heated questions too. Not to mention how entitled Jacob sounds in the interview. Jacob and Rhegan are both terrible! And Ethan and Hila’s goal was to understand his view because it’s absolutely bonkers to steal a cat! Jacob didn’t try to talk beforehand, he didn’t know anything hence the heavy questioning. Before the zoom call, everyone agreed that Rhegan was wrong by not going to the vet. Watching this I got an ad for The Farmer's Dog. In the ad the little girl says to her dog "I will always take care of you." Kind of ironic honestly for this episode. I don't feel like Rhegan took care of Sevyn to her best ability. It's obvious Jacob shouldn't have taken Sevyn and should have spoken with Rhegan or filed a report. He seemed to have good intentions. I feel you all really went in on him. 😕 Stan Olivia for voicing her opinion. Lack of veterinary care is considered neglect and can be reported to law enforcement. LA has a chapter of the SPCA where they detail this on their website. I love supporting you guys. I know this was a last-minute topic, but this was a hard episode to watch.

Idk why the comments are riding for ANY of these ppl. Both of them suck. Reghan was neglecting the cat, which is abuse. Jacob LITERALLY stole the cat with intent to sell or give it to someone else. His story keeps changing with specific details being added or taken out. There are red flags from this guy all over the place. And to be clear SHE abused her cat and should NOT be a pet owner. And based off how he acts he should NOT be a pet owner either. Especially if your mom has saved cats before, you would know how stressful everything can be to the animal. His story DOES NOT add up. And she IS an animal abuser. All evidence she has shown has been laughable. Again, they both suck. Both are walking red flags.

Experienced cat foster mom here! Kittens need to be a minimum of 2 pounds before spay/neuter. They typically hit this when about 10 weeks old. Kittens grow fast with healthy weight of cared for properly. A cat that is 9 months old should NOT be weighing under 4 pounds. That cat did not look to be a runt from its length alone.

Note about pet insurance, they often don't cover pre-existing conditions and owners often have to pay out of pocket then get reimbursed. It is best to get insurance when they are very young before they develop conditions. Some of them may not cover wellness services. They often have different prices for different breeds (ie more expensive for brachycephalic breeds). Do your research about pet care costs, insurance and potential illnesses in the breed or species you want to own.

2.31hrs in, Ethan, how can you say for sure the cat weighed more before he took custody of it??? IF she was neglecting the cat, and his intent was CLEARLY to help the cat, it’s possible that he fed the cat more than she was in the first place.. the cat could have even gained weight in his custody (it’s impossible to know for sure) but his intent is clear, the cat was sick and he took that cat in order to save its life, I don’t think he’d do that if he was just going to neglect it further, it’s way more logical to believe he was feeding it and doing all he could to preserve its life until the vet visit.

to me it sounds like she didn’t get that cat vaccinated regularly and it developed FIV. if she rapidly dropped weight (over a couple weeks it sounds like), began having seizures, stop eating, began sneezing/coughing, and the one recommendation was to be put down, it sounds like FIV, which sometimes happens due to poor actions done by the adoption agency, most of the times due to irresponsibility of the owner. nothing angers me more than this happening to a poor cat, its an awful, painful death for them. another possibility is respiratory failure. my cat was always sick as a baby with URIs, he will always be sensitive to changing environments because of it. the only thing you have to do is get them an antibiotic shot to avoid their “sniffles”causing an infection, or if your cat is like mine where their bodies resist them, you get them antibiotic pills. its usually like $80 total for me. if the cat had a “cold”, yes it can go away sometimes, but it can also cause an infection in their nasal cavities or their lungs, which can travel to the bloodstream, then their heart. again, a painful, agonizing death. cats communicate how they feel. always listen to them. this story is fucking nauseating to me.

I’m actually so disgusted with how this episode was handled. Never before have I been unable to finish an episode of the show. The way Ethan handled speaking with Jacob was so embarrassing. Ethan, Jacob answered your questions clearly and fully. And I can say as someone who has unfortunately had to rescue abused animals from unfit households and has had experience attempting to get a cat into emergency, I cannot believe that the crew is able to side with rhaegen. Jacob explained MULTIPLE TIMES that the wait was not the issue at the emergency, but rather the quality of care. Ethan’s inability to look past his own infatuation with a romantic plot that doesn’t exist is INSANE! Of course rhaegen would say there was a romantic relationship between them after Ethan insisted it over and over again… she wants you on her side!! You did nothing but grill Jacob and completely ignored the inconsistencies and straight up ANIMAL ABUSE committed by rhaegen. Especially AB saying Jacob kidnapped the cat for attention??? Be fucking for real! This is someone’s life.. someone who obviously wanted to save an animals life from an abuser… and you’re manufacturing completely foundation-less stories. I cannot believe Ethan, Hila, AB, and even Dan would play into biased shit like this. Yall need to issue an apology because this character assassination was DISGUSTING and I physically cannot believe you all (except Olivia) would side with an actual animal abuser. Shameful.
