Dear Mercedes-F1 Team, I really appreciate these insight videos and they definitely contribute a lot to the overall post-race coverage. However, I preferred the old format where just Shov or James directly replied to our questions without them being asked by a sort of “interviewer”. Don’t get me wrong, the video format is well-produced from a technical point of view but I do feel like the “interviewer” does not contribute anything apart from reading the questions as the dialogue always seem a little bit stiff and does not feel like a “proper” conversation. So, if you want to keep this sort of format, you could consider just having one loosely structured discussion rather than the current Q&A style.

So George didn't "cooked his tyres" but his longer 2nd stint is the sole reason for his tyre degradation. George was pitted 7 lap early than lewis which at end what made the difference between one stop or two. James: "if we have to run the race again we wouldn't have pitted George so early"

George did mess them up, Lewis only came in 4 laps later. George always does this, he destroys his tyres.

​@@crhakusho Last year at zandvroot Mercedes strategy costed George a podium. They were too late to switch to inters. Race strategy is one area where Mercedes keeps getting worse. Hopefully they can turn things around in this department like they did with their pitstop.

One thing I'll say is that the pit crew has done a much better job, unfortunately the top three teams are running away from us. Wish you guys the best.

I root for James. I hope he can work some magic soon.

Made sense to pit george at that point, literally wrote it on twitter 2 laps before. George complaining about his tyres but with 25+ second gap to perez, get that extra point as nobody else was able to that in the top 10 without losing a place.

Guys I noticed this years ago that your cars always carried more rear wing for downforce compared to RedBullCraps!! That told me that the engine was very strong but our aero efficiently was poor!! You have put yourself in this position not spending more time in the wind tunnel to maximize the aero of the car!! Get that car right by Spain!! This car is too pretty to be this slow! I've definitely found I watch Ferrari more now than Mercedes, so it's clear I was only interested in Mercedes because of Lewis, so definitely moving there next year. Just hope they can win races this season.

You didnt pit george too early he just didnt take care of his tyres properly, the mclaren of piastri also pitted early and his tyres were okay in the end. Lewis also did a longer stint on the hards and his tyres were fine too. Why didnt we see lewis tyres fall off at a similar rate to george's when they were a similar age?

If Max, both McLaren & both Ferrari crash then there might be a chance.

The call the bring in George was the best. Look at what happened to Max and Lando. Max stayed on the old tires hoping to nourish them to the end. Lando was called in for fresher tires and started to hunt down Max and almost succeeded. If George wasn't called in, he was in danger of losing 2 places on those old rubbers. But George is used to see the race only from his perspective and his only even though he is employed by a Team to race.

What are you waffling about ? Did you not watch the video or maybe english isn't your first or even second language. This thirteen minute video has exonerated George from the public perception that he "cooked his tyre". James admitted that George's longer second stint was the culprit behind his tyre degradation and not his driving. Mercedes made a mistake to pit George early by their own admission. No need to pull other driver down to hype yours. Why you lot even bother to comment when you aren't even ready to watch the video and head straight for the comment section to vomit your bile. Thank God we wouldn't need to put up with CultLHATE next season. Good riddance✌️

Just so you know, Lando wasn't called in for fresher tyres. His tyres came back to life once he started pushing more.

Does anyone else prefer the format from a year or so ago when James V & Mike were doing it? I could listen to James A all day but this format is a little staid, overly formal.

If they earn a spot in constructors by 1 point as close as it was last year with Ferrari then suddenly yall will stop complaining 😂 all these fake fans do is complain complain complain.

@@sdcraig Why is your customer team 34 seconds faster? The power unit can win races and push George around for fastest lap, so what needs to be done to close the sizeable gap in total race performance?

When Lewis’ race is messed up it’s on Mercedes and “who touched the car” when Lewis is the one touching it, when George’s race is messed up it’s on George. Stop blaming these drivers and blame Mercedes, they need to step their strategy game up. They’re bad strategies are bad for both drivers

What a load of BS, George lap vs lap equal tyre length lewis laptimes where faster. if you cpmpare lap x and Lap x on both drivers -equal tyre life lewis was faster. Nice try james trying to save face that george was slower when lap, fuel corrected., Secondly when he pitted, others didnt have that much tyre deg as geoerge so the issue is george burned his tyres it seems.

Nearly every other f1 stats account has posted their fuel & tyre length adjusted data. And in every single one of them George's pace is either equal to Lewis or slightly faster. And james himself just confirmed it.
