More Dark Crystal videos and about my favourite character! At long last our wishes have come true! Do you intend to continue making more DC videos or is this just a one off?

Skek'Sil would probably make an excellent Emperor, because he knows how NOT to be mindlessly cruel for five Gorram minutes. It doesn't make him a better person, just one who understands how to actually get what he wants out of people and get them to do so willingly. He tried to get the other Skeksis to moderate their use of essence, to extend their lives, rather than just gorging on it and giving into addiction, destroying the Gelflings in the process. Doesn't mean he cares anything about the Gelflings, but it does show he can think long term and not just give into the desire for instant gratification.

My headcanon is that in his dying moments, the Emperor finally realized that the Chamberlain wasn't as trustworthy as he thought, (which is why he reacted so viciously when he tried to steal his scepter) but was too weak (and arrogant) to call him out on it, hence the "I... am still... Emperor..."

Honestly, I don't see skekSil lasting that long as Emperor, for the simple fact that he was universally despised by the Skeksis who served practical purposes

Seems like something the Chamberlain would do. Such a conniving politician, Palpatine got nothing on our boy

I could see it being the case. It's a long con of a plan, but the Skeksis themselves live just as long and longer. Little nudges to the Emperor's pride here and there, especially under the guise of "Our great leader, there is no one more suited to unlocking this power's fullest potential than you, not even Scientist! All this power is yours, yes. With it, you will be greater than the Crystal or even Thra itself!" is sure to coax the Emperor to try harder to accomplish full control. Especially after what we saw at the final battle in Age of Resistance. If all the power from that one strike of the Darkening was enough to practically obliterate one of their own kin, then the greed of that level of control even against his own kin would be reason in it of itself too to continue to strive for true control. Heck, he could've even been led to believe that with time, he could heal himself and become triple immortal from the Crystal, Draining, and Darkening all in one... Which, of course, would simply leave a maddening spiral of self destruction that would oh so conveniently leave a throne for the ever so helpful and present Chamberlain. At least, until the Trial by Stone, which is one of the few things he didn't properly prepare for when his skill up into then had been primarily deception and attacks of opportunity of late. That, and of course the fact that his opponent was just as hungry for power and stronger physically for the set trial. Would he have tried to set it up again had they succeeded then? Who knows, but most likely he would've and would have needed to spend much more time to widdle down his new Emperor to do so, of course.

An intriguing return! But I doubt the clever Chamberlain had any idea about the Darkening! However, I cannot accept or deny such a grim possibility either! Surely it would have had greater relevance in the second season especially... I personally think that his greatest plot was to somehow prevent the emperor from attending the solar ceremony... I also presume that perhaps he would have slowly discovered the Darkening along with the Jester and will probably generate a greater chain reaction based on the chain production of the Garthim and the dense chain pollution in Thra...

Something similar to this: I have a theory/headcanon that after Deet absorbed the Darkening, she was taken prisoner by the Skeksis who eventually decided to try and use her, to manipulate her and weaponize her against her own kind. Chamberlain being Chamberlain took over her psychological torment and coercion, but in secret was trying to take full control of her for himself, likely as some kind of competition against skekUng who controlled the Garthim, their most powerful soldiers. Being able to tame and control the Darkening might make him seem more powerful in the Emperor's eyes, after all. Going off of your theory, it's possible he somehow used Deet to further poison skekSo...

I've always thought so since first watching the movie as a child, myself. After reading the book adaptation and watching Age of Resistance it made me think so all the more. I'm so glad you're making videos again, by the way.

Great to hear from you again from Thra and Beyond. I can see Chamberlain doing such an act he did kill General as a powergrab so why would this not be out of the question. Other ideas for videos you can do is -The spiritual meaning of numbers in the dark crystal, for Jim henson loves sacred geometry its literally the 3 suns, triangle, and zodiac around them in ceremonies. -The firelings from the Power of the dark crystal. Could have their own bio? -Other times Dark crystal appeared in other media(kinda breaking the inverse story telling but could be a good video) -How the dark crystal was important to children and fantasy movies going forward. By breaking the molds and boundaries. -You explain how you would write a season 2 of the Age of Resistance fan made comic series. With characters like Ruanyip, skekSa and skekLi. -What would happen if the Dark Crystal(the crystal itself) was in our world. Would we all turn into gelfling or skeksis. -If maudras are the matriachs, do each clan have an elder male who is the teacher, or mascot for their clan.

@@DreamfastwithMe Dark Crystal is a franchise with so much potential, I always wondered how Jim henson would expanded upon the lore. As for voices I seen Christopher Llyod doing skekShod voice, and Aisha Tyler doing skekSa in they had appeared in AOR season 2. One concept I had for skekLii death, and for the dark side is that the darkening had infected the Grotten like deet but turn them into vampiric gelfing sucking the life out of victims cause the darkening madness, well skekLii had cornered Rian with the shard ready to kill him for his nuisance in his claws gloating how Emperor will favor him, then seen the infected Grotten eyes burn pink in the caverns below, skekLi lighting a match to see in the darkness only to show gasping fangs staring at him, in terror skekLi drops Rian and the shard, and skekLi is being bitten and sucked of his life force by the vampire gelfing, and Rian took this opportunity to escape, while Brea was trying to get more information from UrLii elsewhere about the shards importance, only before he rasped sunder, undone,-made-one. Then died turning to dust before a distraught Brea. A small population of The Sifa clan and Vapra clan had hybrid descendants that made huge crystal sand castles along the silver sea. SkekSa uses a whale rib bone as a sword, and has a crystal eagle as her pirate bird. SkekUng had a bounty on skekGra head and punish him using the dark crystal as torture to him and UrGoh, but while hooking both of them up the crystal to be publically executed before the mocking skeksis for being a traitor. skekSo=A skeksis who betrays his kind, is a skeksis who denys immortality there, Heretic! skekGra=Living with truth is eternal life, that which you have no domain over, Emperor. While beginning draining something when array to the scientists dismay, the crystal cause a psuedo reforming of skekGra/urGoh into a ghostly imagine of the urskek GraGoh warning them of their imminent fate into oblivion terrfying the skeksis and shaking the castle, skekGra/urGoh disappear forever into stardust, but the ghostly threat from GraGoh shakes everyone to the core of their path in life.

Well, they did retroactively make the Garthim his original idea, so why not the Emperor's death too? I wouldn't put anything past him.
