Thanks Sophie. Two things I struggle to understand. How can just having a forged face help feel? 2. Can the speed foam being less dense be as effective in deadening the sound? TZoids, Zing2s, AP2 716s & JPX 919 forged.

Having tried on course many many brands and models I finally found irons that I love and do really well and are probably the best irons I have ever had - while the jpx921 tour and apex pro came close they did not live up to my new irons also with such a great mmt shaft - the pxg gen 3s. Ruled out the p790,770 though really liked the p7mc having previously also had the p760s. Though none of the tm ones came close to the apex pro or the jpx 921.

I recently exchanged a set of TM SIM2 Max irons for the P-790's. I am very happy with this decision. Probably the best iron on the market. Running a 6 handicap from the Senior tees at age 64. My home course is 6,500 yds. from the Senior tees and is a seaside links style design with very windy conditions most of the time. Yeah, my distances aren't what they were when in my 30's but in reality couldn't ask for much more. Hitting my 7 iron around 130 -135 yds.

I've had 3 sleepless nights contemplating the purchase of these irons lol. Sad thing is I just started gaming the 2019 790's. This video is what I was looking for. The DG 105 S shafts are the only thing having me second guess my shots. Not disappointing shafts by any mens but leaves me wondering if I can gain some ball stability in the transition with a slightly stronger shaft. (Maybe tungsten powder in the shaft tip?) I don't exceed 90mph with the 7 iron but I feel a 110 or 108 could perform well. Those Nippon modus shafts are slightly stiffer but essentially the same weight. Ugh what can I do? Anyway thank you for the AMAZING reviews!

Pre ordered these , best all around iron IMO

I hit a 7i 160 yards carry with a mere 70 mph club head speed. The 2021’s are straight, consistent and they feel really good. This is a good club for a lot of players.

does it stay on the green?

I currently play Sub70 699 - very similar to TM 790, but at less than half the price. Question, what made you put the mini driver in the bag? I have one (and a TM SIM, and TM SIM2 Max 3W), but you are so accurate off the tee that I don’t see why a mini driver would be useful for you. Is it because it’s longer than 3W and about as accurate?

Try comparing the 2017 P790 with the new one. Then you'll see/feel a difference.

I have been playing ping i / blue dot but liked the look of the 790 series not a real fan of strong lofts as i need more low lofted club ,s ? bob riches

Son who plays competitive junior golf took my 2021 T200 Irons to play for the 2022 season. So I got myself a set of the 2021 P790s. Easy to hit, and long. Longer than the T200s. Been playing them for over a month. Haven’t hit or found that “hot spot flyer” that people were comparing about with the older P790s.

All I got from this video is that this golfer is so good, she could play any club that she wants and it would not affect her skill settings.

If I didn't already have 5 sets ... These could be the 6th.

I have only hit these twice but hated these. So big an clumsy feeling irons. Also some crazy rockets, like 7-iron 185y carry (85 mph clubhead speed). Not very consistent at all, at least not for me.
