Did I just interfere with the US election?

Something funny happened when I tried to promote my recent Tucker-Dugin afterparty on KZread...

The establishment feels threatened by the lamest things. I just saw an add for a meme creator for the Biden admin today too. Bells and whistles, no actual discussion or analysis. I'm just grateful for quality channels such as this one, would have done broke my brain muscle if all I had was the echo chamber. Keep on trucking, that's what I say!

Full Spectrum Weaponization is on for the election season. I don't know if there's some connection, but you tube just zapped an inoffensive comment I made about black bears on another channel. I doubt if this one will even be successfully posted. Really, the bear comment could have only been blocked/deleted because I'm on some blacklist.

Most people still don’t realize how aware and afraid the left was of Dugin preceding 2016. In their minds, the more supportive attitude of Dugin towards Trump was the genesis of “Russian collusion.” Leftish intellectuals have been interested in Dugin for a long time. You can find old videos of various western intellectuals debating Dugin still. He’s an interesting and challenging figure to these intellectuals. They would have loved to discredit him in their debates, but they couldn’t. Further, Dugin’s religious, Orthodox, beliefs, pride in Russian culture and history, Russian nationalism, are all disliked by them. But liking Trump? That sent them over the edge entirely. So, they’ve banned his books and conspired to block his access to western audiences. Who’s burning books now? Who opposes academic freedom now? Who wants to curtail our rights to freedom of speech now? Not Dugin.

Really weird I know some old leftists that admire Dugin. "Leftish" if not a typo, is truly a good neologism to describe the state of current progressivism without substance today. The old Marxism, despite its colossal flaws was welcoming of a latitude of argumentation, self-proclaimed leftists today are not. There is no real left in America. Of course, there is no real, aristocratic or priestly bastions of the right either, but that's another tangled topic.

What do I think? It's called confession through projection. They accuse their opponents of all the crimes that they're committing. Very simple.

I've spent millions on paid advertising for multiple platforms, including Google/KZread. This type of flag is common. If you try to run an ad that mentions someone in politics, shows an image of something political (like the White House, the IRS building, etc.), or discusses anything related to politics, they'll flag the ad. You can petition the flag. Their flagging system is automated and they have systems that scans your content and looks for anything political. A petition gets your content reviewed by an actual person. In some cases, like on Meta, you have to categorize your content as "Political" in order to run the content as an ad.

Michael, I don’t think you should be paying anyone to advertise you thoughts, we should be paying you to hear them. I found your channel because I was hoping to find out about Dugin’s thoughts. I searched, expecting one or two videos in a sea of trash. I clicked on your video first and I was not expecting such clarity and depth on the topic of Dugin and more importantly the background on people like Evola, Heidegger. And such solid introductory videos to these guys and the topic of conservative political philosophy. The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you; and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.

Isn't the entire point of democratic elections to give people a chance to persuade each other about the merits or flaws of certain policies and personalities?

Liberalism will go before democracy and then we'll start to wonder what we even keep democracy around for. If you're going to have a managed society under a strict ideological framework you might as well have one that's intellectually consistent.

In context, it does not seem unexpected. Algorithms are going to be doing their thing. What’s objectionable is that your business is domiciled in Canada and you should be able to appeal to any potential non-American audience however you see fit - it is a free market…..isn’t it?

I don’t know if this is election interference. I do know that I do not want to watch Tucker Carlson. It would be interesting if you would tell us what Dugin says to Tucker. As part of your study of Russia you naturally want to watch Tucker’s interview, but I do not.

Thats really funny. But if you want to grow your channel, dont use ads. YT makes bank off of aspiring creators. Focus on a more visual format (e.g. using old footage, art, and diagrams to illustrate topics instead of selfiecam or screencap of text), and I promise you the channel will grow.

Don’t be a Canadian naive about getting done in the US by lawfare. When Conrad Black was done in by the US justice system I wrote him an email expressing my support of what they had done to him. Now the guy who built that skyscraper in Chicago for Lord Black just got convicted of 34 felonies. Election interference? Sure, how many times have you mentioned Alex’s name? 😊.

I know that you are a Straussian (I’m sympathetic, but I believe that he doesn’t appreciate Christian virtue ethics enough), do you have a criticism of classical liberal _proponents_ of virtue ethics, say, Ayn Rand? What would be your strongest argument? My argument would be along the lines of “human excellence presupposes a society that recognises excellence as a moral norm, a Hobbesian society achieves the opposite, as it reduces man to his performance in the marketplace. It does no longer evaluate a man based on his honour (classical view) nor based on his conscience (Christian view), man thus becomes alienated from his full potential. He is no longer the rational animal if by rational animal we understand a mind that subordinates his desires to his reason, but a mere calculator of shallow pleasure. Natural rights are important, but they are not an end in themselves, but a means (excellence). Rights don’t just end where respect for rights could not promote life, rights end where respect for rights could not promote human excellence.” How can I refine my argument? Thank you in advance and keep up the good work!
