I hear people tell me they had unpleasant experiences with indigo airlines but they let it pass without taking action or sharing their experience with others. I feel when we don’t speak about such experiences, it encourages the arrogance and dominating behavior such as ​⁠#indigo airlines. Share this video with everyone you know who may have felt cheated or bullied by the airlines espl indigo airlines.

    I’m a previous airline customer service rep.. :) Some airport counter workers are poorly trained and don’t have the best attitudes, so it makes for a bad combination. She shouldn’t have charged you for the bag since you paid online. And she could see on her end you paid for the additional weight. If it were me I would’ve paid it just to get on the flight but ABSOLUTELY escalate it. There should be a formal complaint phone number for that airline. I would demand a refund for what she charged.

    You did a good job by posting and creating awareness. Yes what they did is absolutely wrong and I would kept the receipt and complained the airlines with all proofs also would have tweeted about the airlines fraud.

    This is so unfair. I know how frustrating these situations are, and I know how powerless it feels when businesses act in unreasonable and disrespectful ways. You are only left with two options, being bullied or losing time/money and turn back. It is a lose-lose situation. It's a nightmare user experience and is way too common. I sometimes spend part of my time complaining through the company's available channels. They usually have social media and email services for that. It would just take them as little effort as improving their online procedure adding more precise information. It's not about the extra money it costs you. It's about how bad they make you feel. I personally feel very sad when certain employees treat me with undeserved contempt and deny the evidence. Thank you for speaking about this! ❤❤❤

    Last year, I had a really bad experience with a kiosk attendant, as well as with TSA, in 2 different states in the US, as an Indian woman. I was moving/finding a new location to live. With the kiosk attendant, she made a big deal about how my card wasn't going through, then after a whole drama another rep showed up, swiped the card calmly in the other direction, and I was good to go. With TSA, they leafed through my sensitive legal/financial documents (brought with me since I was moving), went through my journals, all claiming it could be a sheet bomb. There was no privacy partition and I had to get rude with nosy people around me to get them to stop staring at the documents. Such a huge drama and invasion of my privacy over nothing. Something is off in the climate for sure

    I did face the same thing on my way from Hyderabad to mumbai where i was flying internationally, even after paying for excess baggage i was told to pay again at the counter as they said payment didn’t come through, i tried looking into the online payments but they had zero patience and demanded me to pay for it along with the extra bag i was carrying. Indigo is one of the worst flights, always looting money from us

    I have had number of incidences of baggage damage which they refuse to accept. There is no system in place for complaints that are likely to get addressed. Writing to the Ministry of Aviation or the CEO of the airline too is futile!!! Airlines are bullies!!!

It is so important to come out & unmask the irregularities .. will be of help in creating a better fair & smooth Travel ecosystem..

    Complain to customer service and demand a refund and tell them of the liability of a staff member who needs to understand that what customer service is and bullying is not part of it.

    I think you got bullied into paying it FOR sure! I don’t know who you would contact or if they even would do anything, but, I think you should contact Indigo Airlines. Just my opinion.❤

    This is brilliant. Thanks for sharing your experience so fully. I find this to be unfair. And asking for some clarity is a smart choice. I would have also paid if I were in your situation because as you said people would want to catch their flight and do jot have time for court.

    Take it up . You are entitled for a refund. I think the first customer rep was not using logic , calling her line manager to confirm what to do and instead made her own personal decision . Happens to my family similar travel stories.

    Definitely escalate your complaint to management and/or consumer agencies. You deserve a refund. But, hope the rest of your trip was enjoyable.

    If you pay for extra kilos online you should not be paying at the counter again. I always buy extra kilos while booking the flight and I have never paid for it twice. You must complaint about this. Some of the staff sitting at the counters is so rude that they start imposing their orders on the customers but I am sure this matter would be taken into consideration

    I had to pay for the excess baggage but they let my second luggage without any issue but the catch was they weighed the luggage separately. I had paid for 20 kgs and they told me it was 5 kgs extra . My one bag was 19 and the other one was 15 totally my baggage was 34 kgs 15 is allowed and they told me it was 39 and I had to pay ridiculously high compared to online . This airline is total rip off .

    Thank you for sharing. It definitely was an unfair situation. The person at the counter did you wrong and it should definitely be exposed. Why should you have to pay for a second time for what you had already paid for. That's just being pushy and very unprofessional of the person.

    Yes last month I also had some issues in Chennai airport ( indigo airlines), I told her everything is now electronic but she never listens to me and only 20 minutes to fly , I called one of my friends where's she is 2500 km far away from me , she helped me immediately but only 20 meters near to me she can't help n even refuse to listen.they are all new girls.

    I would pay with PayPal or visa, because sometimes they intermediate afterwards. Insist on a bill, write her name down from her name tag, or even take a photo of the person.. To be able to prove who asked this from you.. A sad story 😢

    Take it up to the consumer forum and you will get a compensation. I’ve been in a similar situation with indigo and they had to pay.

    Screen shot of your payment would perhaps have shut the “employee” down. I would hope you had the presence of mind to take her name and make a note of the time this unpleasant situation happened. As many details as possible, so that you armed with evidence can take it up to the top. Name and shame.

    of course you should complain, tweet, post on any social media because this was unfair. Though for future reference, Indigo has an option to add if you are an international transit passenger while booking extra baggage. That way you'll need to pay much less or sometimes nothing for your additional baggage.

    Had similar horrible experience with AirIndia in Aug last year. Personally I think domestic airlines reps act weird when they see non Indian passports. I raised it up to Air India customer care and the fare difference of buisness class vs economy was paid in a voucher valid for next 1 year. They knew we r NRIs n how many of us manage to travel to India every year. We just had to succumb to them just because that was the last flight for the day.

    I feel if staff is not sure it’s okay, atleast don’t be overconfident… they need to check in with some other staff. Besides this staff need to be further educated in terms of listening with empathy first, and then probably call someone who can handle this situation. Just some staff think they are right, and this is not good. I hope airlines apologies for that..

    I think you were cheated. I also agree with @sarasays that sometimes employees are not properly trained and that is the airlines responsibility. I have also noticed that since covid customer service care has plummeted and a lot of the big name corporations are not concerned with losing our business because a lot of small businesses closed down. This is very unfortunate for the consumer who happens to be us

    Normally I would never encourage posting negative comments but in this case…use your position and expose this garbage. Post it on ALL your social media platforms and just like you did here, ask your followers to share. This airline totally took advantage of you because they could and you’d better believe they do it 100x a day to people who can do nothing but take it. Maybe posting this shames them into doing better. Good luck!
