Did Alex Murdaugh confess to killing his son?

The question on everyone’s mind watching the Murdaugh murder trial today is: did Alex confess to killing his son? bit.ly/3wK7ahA
The jury was played an interview Alex Murdaugh gave SLED a few days after the murders. A portion of what he says is being contested. Some hear him say “I did him so bad” and others hear him say “they did him so bad" when referring to his son Paul.

It seems that every time he opens his mouth, he incriminates himself!!! I’m not God, so I don’t know, but if he DID NOT kill his wife and son, he’s doing a great job of convincing the jurors otherwise! He’s his own worst enemy. He apparently has “talked” and paid his way out of a lot throughout his life, like his father’s fathers, before him. He’s an attorney, for goodness sake’s, but doesn’t know that he HAS THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT. God help this family.

"I did him so bad". End of story, no question Alex did it. Buster is no Saint but he needs to get what else he knows out in the open. There will definitely be a book and/or movie done on this Murdaugh family. The whole crime has made me so sad. Paul was no Saint but didn't deserve his life ended with his head blown apart and Maggie didn't to be shot 4 times either. So sad ALL these lives are completely ruined. I feel that was the last straw for the community. They despised him and I believe there was some type of jealousy. And with Paul being the younger of the two, he was probably a self absorbed monster! I believe that might have played a role in his demise. Dad couldn't deal with him and continue to bail him out of trouble. Buster is no saint, I'm sure, but he was probably easier to deal with, less trouble. Maybe Buster reminds Alex of himself and that's why he was allowed to live. Guess those facts are only known to Alex and his God.

Really. LMFAO! Some of you people act as if the South were another country entirely. Well, I was born in Texas, lived overseas for 12 years, went to college in Colorado and North Carolina, received my master's degree from the University of Texas in Austin, worked in Virginia, DC, Florida, Kansas, Texas and Brazil. I am now retired in Florida. The differences between the north and south of the United States are only important in terms of our history period we are one nation...a federal republic made up of 50 states, each one with its own set of unique characteristics. I am so tired of people always harping on the differences between us rather than focusing on our common interests. Ever since this Murdaugh debacle has become the number-one Obsession of so many Americans with too much time on their hands, I am hearing with increasing frequency some of the most uneducated, elitist and hateful statements about the south and the people who live here. As Netflix wrongly suggests that this murder is a southern scandal, as if it could only happen in a place like South Carolina. That is absolutely ridiculous. We all know that this could just as easily have happened on Long Island or in San Francisco for that matter. And the silly, pathetic commentary about how Southerners speak or about certain customs and traditions are downright offensive. I'm surprised all of the language police aren't complaining about this stuff yet. You see, in the South we don't really give a damn about that silliness. I think it is just youins up North who become obsessed with trying to Pick-a-Part Southern soliloquies. You just can't stand when we say y'all. Plus, y'all think you are so much smarter and more modern than we are. If that were true, why is everybody trying to get the hell out of places like New York, Illinois and New Jersey and are coming in droves to South Carolina, Florida and Texas. Unfortunately, as a result of this influx of Northerners, you are messing with the good that we have down here by bringing the bad you AR trying to escape from up North. That makes no sense whatsoever. One more thing, Hampton County is very close to Hilton Head Island, one of America's True Treasures that has unfortunately been completely taken over by folks from Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey. And where I live here in Florida, I rarely encounter someone born and raised here. Practically everybody that I meet is from New York or New Jersey and many of them are very rude compared to Southerners!

I agree with Noah. Though I clearly heard him say “I” it doesn’t matter. It was an expression of concern about Paul bc Alec wanted to kill him with a single shotgun blast through the chest, instant death. But Paul didn’t die. Alec had to shoot him through the head. That’s why I think he lamented that “I/they did him so bad.” He had taken two guns - bc Maggie, who would be running, required automatic shot and Alec cared less. Her death would be more painful, more brutal. Personally, I think there was a little revenge in it. He didn’t say “I/they did her so bad.” In fact, in court, he tried to cry every time Paul’s name was mentioned but not Maggie’s.

The dogs would have gone ballistic- they were pretty feisty dogs. Alex would have heard so many shots too as the kennels are only 500metres by road around an open field, LESS as the crow flies. He needed to say he napped for half an hour to cover any questions. His iPhone steps and car computer data put the lie to that.

OK so I have done the word tests like "laurel and yanny" (unrelated but my middle name is actually Laurel ❤) and if I close my eyes and say either word in my head before hearing the recording, I hear the word I am thinking. I did that in this case with "I" and "They", and I only heard "I". I saw many comments in the previous weeks and many believing it's "they", so I am glad I took the time to listen for myself dutifully.
