@@TsukiRaikiwish MLB fans got to see him in his true prime. In his rookie year of the NPB he struck out Ichiro three times in a row in a game. In highschool as well his arm was definitely over used, 250 pitches in a 17 inning game then a few days later he threw a no hitter. 881 pitches in over two weeks is crazy.

I’ll never forget this game. Dad took me out of school early for a “doctors appointment” and we headed to the K to watch Dice’s debut. A few years later the Sox were back in town and Dice was shagging balls in the outfield during BP. In a sea of royals fans he saw me and tossed a ball up. Only major league ball I’ve ever gotten

Me encanta este pitcher. A parte de que es de Japon, una ciudad y cultura que admiro mucho, su lanzamiento caracteristico, la gyroball, es increible.

Wow watching this makes me realize that MLB broadcasts would be better if they removed the strike zone from the screen. Knowing every single missed call an ump makes just adds frustration and unwatchability to the game. And dont come at me with robot umps because seeing the umps call outs and strike 3s is one of the sickest parts of baseball haha.

In the long run? Yes. But, he was no doubt a key piece to helping the Sox win it all in 2007. So I'd say it was money well spent at least in some way.
